Just home after spending two days at The Fossil Tree in Bispham. Have stayed here many times and would not stay anywhere else when visiting the area. Just wish we could have been there for longer on this occasion. It is just far enough out of the centre of Blackpool but close enough to visit and thus is much quieter which we prefer. Tram and bus stops both just outside the hotel. Great for visiting Cleveleys and Fleetwood - The Affinity shopping outlet at the latter is well worth a visit with lots of stores at good prices. The Fossil Tree offers very comfortable accommodation, nicely appointed rooms which are immaculately clean with in-room good supply of tea/coffee/hot chocolate and the hosts offer an honesty bar in the lounge area. There is no lift at the hotel so consider this when booking if necessary. Bed and breakfast only but there are excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. (Can recommend Terra Nostra Italian in Bispham and the hosts can suggest lots of alternatives). The breakfasts at The Fossil Tree are wonderful, all freshly cooked and served to table in a very pleasantly appointed dining room with a good choice of menu and plentiful portions. The lovely hosts Christine and Chris offer a very pleasant stay and are most helpful. It is an adult only hotel and as a couple we would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Blackpool and will visit as often as possible. If you are visiting Blackpool and wondering where to stay then do not ponder, you will not be disappointed.

Just returned from another lovely 2 night stay at the Fossil tree, very friendly and welcoming. The room was immaculate with great sea views (Elm) and breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Tram stop across the road very convinient. Would have no problem recommending and staying again.
See you again next year.

Always a warm welcome at The Fossil Tree. A fabulous small hotel in a quieter part of Blackpool. Very close to Tram & Bus stops. Blackpool, Cleveleys & Fleetwood a short journey.
We stayed in the Oak Room on 1st floor. Beautiful room with a sea-view, lovely comfortable 4 poster bed. En-suite with a separate shower room.
Extras in room included fresh filtered water & a tassimo coffee maker.
Excellent breakfast with a good choice of cereals, pastries, full English with toast, tea, coffee & juice. Served by Chris the owner.
Nothing is too much trouble & he & his wife Christine always go above & beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of perfection

We have just returned from another trip to Blackpool, 4th to 7th April 2024, and once again staying at the Fossil Tree Hotel on the North Shore, not far from Bispham. As previously indicated in other reviews, this small, but perfectly set and well appointed hotel, organised and run by husband and wife team Chris and Christine, is very comfortable, very welcoming and spotlessly clean, clearly operated to high personal standards by its owners. There is on site parking, Wi-Fi, very accessible public transport, all in a quieter area of Blackpool with lovely sea views. The hotel is adult only on a B&B basis, where the breakfast is excellent, as is the overall hospitality given to each visitor by both Christine and Chris. Nothing ever seems to be too much bother for these hosts, who are always bright, cheerful, attentive and thoroughly professional. We have become regular guests there now, and we do not now see ourselves, or consider going to any other hotel when visiting Blackpool.
Thanks for all you do Chand Chris.

Me and my husband chose this Hotel due to its numerous prestigious awards won and we can clearly see why! We arrived very late on a Friday night, Chris was still waiting for us on reception to give us a very warm welcome, we had a lovely chat and then with our bags being carried to our rooms he showed us around the room (oak room) and gave us some general knowledge about the general area, restaurants, bars and the nearest tram stop, with that we was left to settle in for the night, the room was the most comfortable room we have ever stayed in the bed was amazing you could just sink into it, duck feather pillows, top quality bed linen not a single expensive is spared even down to the cushelle toilet roll!! Onto the breakfast, you can have a choice of continental, full English, porridge. We would highly recommend the full English it is by far one of the best we have had, freshly cooked to order, eggs (how you would like them cooked), mushrooms, hashbrowns, bacon, beans, tomatoes, toast and last but not least the amazing sausages which you can tell are localy bought from a butcher they are packed with flavour!! You get a teapot full of tea or a freshly pressed container of coffee, which Chris will refill at the drop of a hat for you, you also get some fresh juice to go along with it to refresh the pallet, nothing is to much for Chris & Christine, they are exemplary Hosts and we would say by far this is the best hotel in Blackpool, you will not be disappointed, would we stay here again? Yes in a heartbeat, Thankyou both for a wonderful stay, it made celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary Perfect

We decided to visit Blackpool for my wifes birthday, and wanted something a little bit more upmarket than your usual seaside b&b, and stumbled upon The Fossil Tree. The reviews looked encouraging, so we booked on the strength of them.

We set off from home in good time, thinking bank holiday traffic would be against us, and arrived early as it wasn't too bad, expecting to be told we couldn't check in, however our host Chris, was more than welcoming, and allowed us to check in a little earlier than advertised. He took great time to explain everything, and we made our way up to our room, which was on the top floor, room 9. Just to note, if you struggle with steps, then perhaps any room over and above the first floor, may not be suited for you.

Upon entering the room, we were pleasantly surprised as it was absolutely immaculate, and even had small touches like touch sensitive lamps with usb ports for charging your phone, proper pod coffee machine, free wi-fi throughout, just the little things that set it apart from others. Our bed was to die for. So comfortable that we wished we could have put it in the car and taken it home!!!!

Breakfast was amazing. Beautiful and well presented, and again Chris was a proper host. It is taken in the front room at ground floor level, which also acts as a small bar, which in itself operates on an honesty box policy. Extra tea and coffee supplies for your room can also be obtained here.

It is in a quiet part of Blackpool towards Bispham, perfect for us, and there is free parking for guests, but the tram stop is just over the road, meaning you don't need to use your car. Trams are every 15 mins both ways.

So all in all, would we come back? Absolutely all day long. (But don't tell everybody about it.)

We have just come back from a 5 night stay at this wonderful hotel. It was the perfect location as the tram stops outside and you can go either direction towards Blackpool Tower or Fleetwood without a problem. The hotel was very clean and nice and quiet which was ideal. Host Chris made us feel so welcome front of house and Christine looked after everyone amazingly spoiling us with such wonderful breakfasts. Before we got there they had supplied us with lots of information to make the stay enjoyable, we didn’t want for anything. As there is off street parking we could leave the car safely and travel around easily without having to look for car parks. We really had a wonderful time and would certainly stay again if we are in the area and would recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely place to stay
We gave a perfect score as there is nothing to fault

Well, another visit to Blackpool 24.10.24 - 27.10.24, and, of course, another lovely stay at our favourite hotel, "The Fossil Tree".
This husband and wife run hotel never fails to deliver. Situated on the sea front, North Shore, just short of Bispham, it is well located for bus and tram access and has its own parking area. The hotel is spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms (all en suite) and stays are on a B&B basis (adults only). Breakfasts are, in our view, absolutely "top drawer", unlikely to be beaten anywhere else in Blackpool, as is the service supplied throughout the day, throughout our stay, by Chris and Christine. Nothing is too much trouble for these owners and they are truly two of the nicest people anyone could hope to meet. We are, as this post indicates, regular visitors and for good reason. We never consider staying anywhere else in Blackpool!

We stayed at The Fossil Tree Hotel from 18th - 21st September when we visited Blackpool, as our daughter and her partner recommended it to us after staying there in 2019. From the minute we arrived we were really impressed with everything. The location is ideal. On the promenade, within a short drive or tram ride from all the main attractions this is an ideal place to stay. The tram stop is just across the road and a bus stop around 40 yards from the hotel. Easy marked out parking bays and parking was free for our stay there. Our room (Spruce Room 2), located on the first floor was extremely clean and comfortable with a lovely comfortable bed, nice clean linen and pillows. We had a spotless shower room and toilet en-suite and there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room as well as a tv, plenty of room for clothes etc, in fact a lovely room overall. Chris carried our suitcase upstairs for us and throughout our short stay could not do enough for the guests in the hotel. Both he and his wife Christine are superb hosts and it is clear to see why this hotel has won so many awards. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Being an adults only hotel it was lovely and quiet at night and the breakfasts are outstanding with a nice choice of Continental or Full English beautifully cooked each morning . All in all we would HIGHLY recommend staying at The Fossil Tree. We could not fault anything about the place or the owners and we would definitely stay there again if we returned for a visit to Blackpool.
