My wife and I spent a night here on the way to Ningaloo. I was fascinated by the combination of old and new technology in use. Solar power pumped water from a borehole into a header tank and an old fashioned wood burning "donkey" heated water for the shower. Great outback experience.

We are so glad that people stay with us and get a feel for our lifestyle. City and town folk often don't know what it takes to put a steak on their plates! We often say "Get off the bitumen and get the feel for the place - we don't bite!" More

We spent a night here on our way to Ningaloo. It is a lovely old homestead. Joyce was most welcoming, and provided a delicious two course meal for nine of us. Our dinner companions included 4 workmen, who were good company and interesting to talk to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone wanting an "Aussie experience"!

Thank you for these encouraging comments. Only sorry that we could not see you again on your return visit due to slippery roads. I am sure you made the right decision as my drive home that day was quite hairy. Hope to see you again one year when we have water in the pool and you can brave the kayaks... More

We spent 3 nights at Emu Creek (family of 4) and it was an amazing and insightful experience into station life in the Pilbara! Darryl, Joyce, Kylie, Dean and kids made this adventure, by showing us around the station and explaining all of the history. Our kids loved getting dirty in the river beds, catching tadpoles, chasing cows and driving... More

Thank you Catherine and family! The things of nature we sometimes take for granted can be fascinating for townie children. It's back to the simple pleasures, conversation and family working as a team. Thanks for being great guests. More

Had such a great time, an excellent Easter long weekend swimming in the little pools around the homestead and eating delicious home cooked meals. Great company and good exploring. Saw lots of birds, animals and cattle along the way. Thoroughly recommend for a stress free weekend.

Hi Missem88 - We certainly showed you how things can go wrong in the Pilbara - no power equals no fans. At least we had gas cooking! You were the perfect guest and would be welcome any time. More

we spent 1 week in this station and we had a very nice moment with joyce and darryl. We learned a lot about the station and the farm. You can camp or have a room. You can ask for the breakfast, lunch or dinner. Joyce is a very good cook. We had very nice moment.

We heard about this little gem via fellow travelers and the recommendation was spot on. We needed a stop between Ningaloo and Karijini National Park, just to break up that long drive. Paid $25 for UNPOWERED camping along the river. Be prepared with everything you need as there are no facilities at the river itself. However, only a five minute... More

Spent one night here on our way north. Beautiful spot right on the water, able to park the van wherever we wanted. Basic bathroom facilities but spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water, towels and soap provided. Fires and dogs permitted, a true bush camping experience.

Peaceful, idyllic location to camp in the West Pilbura. Camp sites along permanent, fresh water pool (2 km) are natural. Station owners Joyce and Daryl are lovely. There are options for Station tours and homestead meals and you won't believe the peacefulness at night.

We had been travelling and camping in the Pilbara for 10 days and had intended to camp at Emu Creek Station. However, rain was expected and so we asked if we could stay in the homestead. Darryl and Joyce made us welcome and we stayed in Room 1 and had the use of a nearby shower and toilet. Mustering contractors... More
