I just got back from a week at the Barra Lodge in Arnhem Land, 300km north east of Darwin - what can I say - best fishing trip ever and one of the best remote resorts I have stayed in - ever - and have been to plenty. We were catching barra all day - some days 15 each, there... More

I went here as part of an Arnhem Land Outback Spirit bird watching tour and was impressed. The accommodation is luxury camping in a beautiful remote unique setting with fabulous food and wine, some special birds and fabulous fish. What more could you want?

The Lodge is quite a special place. The accommodation is in large tents, erected on a wooden platform. There is a timber-walled en-suite bathroom at one end of the tent and a large outdoor timber deck at the other. The tents are spread out along a raised timber walkway that leads into the the bush from the restaurant area, with... More

What a beautiful place. The "tents" are luxurious, the views of the sunset over the Liverpool River were superb. The food excellent, beer cold. What more could you want? The indigenous guide was very knowledgeable, no fish but that is fishing for you. A good trip to the Maningrida museum and art and cultural centre rounded off a very enjoyable... More

My highlights would be the big fish caught and the amazing food. The accomodation is cabin style with own verandah very comfortable . I highly recommend a visit.

On arrival we were taken straight out with Mick, a fantastic guy, who put us on to about 20 good size Barra straight away, not including the ones we dropped. Being Mexicans Mick was very patient taking us through the finer points of casting and of... More

The Lodge is on Aboriginal land at Maningrida in remote Arnhemland. We stayed 3 days & nights in late May, 4 people in a quad share deluxe tent/cabin. 4 of us shared a boat. Given the price, if we had caught heaps of fish, it might have been OK, but by all reports, it was very average fishing due to... More

We had a great time landing many species including barra, threadfin salmon, mangrove jack, black jewfish and golden snapper. We landed around 350 barra with the biggest measuring 95cm caught by Steve on a... More

I have recently returned from my third trip to the lodge in 10 years (Wow...!) and I have to say the experience is as new as it was the first time and memories are always enduring. This is truly a special and unique location to experience the N.T and some truely remote sports fishing destinations. This trip was for my... More
