We stayed here primarily because of the hotel's close location to Thorpe Park. As far as I can tell it is the closest hotel to Thorpe Park and this was necessary as we were on foot. The hotel is around a twenty minute walk to the park so an ideal location and a good way to wake up in the morning. It is about a 5 minute walk to Chertsey town centre (pleasant) and 10 minutes or so to Chertsey Rail Station.

On arrival we were given a key at the bar and directed to our room (2). This was a large twin room with an en suite containing a shower. The room was clean and there was plenty of hot drinks sachets and a kettle that was a little old but fine. the TV was a bit grainy on ITV but was fine for BBC1, BBC2 and C4. There were some complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. There was a razor cover in one of the cupboards but this was the only dirt we spotted. The beds were quite old but fine and the room was not affected by too much traffic noise. The second night was a little noisier as the people in the rooms next door decided to get back at around midnight and keep walking down the corridor and chatting etc but I don't think there's much you can do about that.

Although there was a sign saying food was served in the evenings and breakfast was served there was no evidence of this during our stay. In the evening we ate in Chertsey and just had fruit for breakfast. These signs ought to be taken down. Checkout was also a little difficult as there appeared to be no one in at around 9 am when we tried to leave so we ended up posting the keys through the door and hoping for the best. This is another issue that could be resolved. Overall though we were happy with our stay. ÂŁ60 a night was probably a little steep but the location was good.

This is an old pub brewery owned on the edge of Chertsey within walking distance to Thorpe Park. The London Pride beer is well kept. The menu is fairly standard British pub style. Service was good and friendly.

me and my husband stayed here just for 1 night for thorpe park.

we called into the pub and asked for our keys. they then told us the rooms are back outside around the car park.

once we got into our room it was freezing - because the bathroom window was left open. no manual option to turn the heating on ourselves so we had to go back downstairs, outside and into the pub to ask for the heating to be turned on.

waited an hour and the radiators were still called. so we phoned the pub informing them this (we found it was a lot easier then the walk down stairs, outside then around to the pub)

they said they will inform the landlord. after around 20minutes it finally started to get warm.

the shower was AWFUL. very slow pressure, hot cold hot cold hot cold.

no breakfast offered here also.

for the price we paid it was ok but realised ÂŁ20 more we could have had a travelodge down the road.

parking was fine too and the staff helpful & friendly.

"Unfortunately, my experience here did not live up to the Chertsey Hotels name and reputation at all. I've stayed at other Chertsey Hotels properties before and had wonderful experiences, but this one missed the mark. First off, checking in was a nightmare. Only 2 people were working the front desk during the peak afternoon arrival period, with a long line of around 20 people waiting. It took over an hour for me to finally get helped. And the front desk staff didn't seem properly trained - they weren't very polished or professional in their interactions.

Once I got to the room, it was immediately clear the housekeeping was lacking too. There were crumbs on the desk and hair on the bathroom floor. The bedsheets also had a stain or two, which is just unacceptable for a luxury hotel like Chertsey Hotels charging over $600 per night. I ended up calling down to the front desk and they sent someone up to change the sheets and do a re-clean, but it never should have gotten to that point. I expect much better than this from Chertsey Hotels. The subpar front desk experience and the room not being properly cleaned and inspected by housekeeping, it made for a very disappointing and frustrating stay overall. I likely won't return to this particular Chertsey Hotels location."

We stayed for two nights here when visiting Thorpe Park. They were lovely clean rooms that were re stocked each day with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and soap etc.
We found the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Would definitely stay here again!

So filthly I had to sleep fullly clothed, go to my colleagues room to use the lavatory and could not bear to have a shower for fear of catching something off the towels!!

I stayed here for one night on a solo trip to Thorpe Park.

When I arrived the gentleman behind the bar apologised that he was just someone helping out but was told I was checking in. He knew I'd paid and there was no complications.

Before my arrival I had spoken with a lady on the phone a couple of times who was very pleasant and everything seemed like it was going to be ok.

Upon letting myself into my room, on first sight it was good. A single bed, plenty of space, a wardrobe, a rather small telly on the opposite side of the room to the bed and a chest of drawers with tea/coffee making facilities.

I had had 3 hours sleep, driven to Thorpe Park which took 4 and a half hours then spent most of the day on rollercoasters so I was absolutely knackered.

The room was a good temperature for me, I like it quite cool and as the windows was open it was perfect.

However, upon entering the bathroom I discovered I couldn't really move in it, it's tiny! Then I saw the pubes in the shower. One in the sink. Very obvious so the bathroom had definitely not been cleaned.

I fancied a cup of tea but when I looked in the kettle I found what only can be described as a piece of grated cheese in the bottom, along with some other bits. There was an empty sugar bowl, with some old grains stuck to the bottom. I decided against my tea.

The bed was comfortable (only one pillow though) and I was so tired I went straight to sleep for a nap. When I awoke the uproar coming from the pub sounded like I had taken the bed into the bar and tried sleeping there! It was actually very intimidating. I knew the rugby was on but even after the rugby it was extremely noisy.

They advertise as doing food and breakfast, this is untrue.

I decided I'd wait until the morning to make my issues known, alas the pub was closed. There's no way of checking out so I couldn't speak with anyone about my problems.

I wouldn't have put this review if there was someone I could have spoken with that morning. All in all I'm disappointed.

I'd suggest staying here if you're not easily intimidated, don't mind noise and want a comfy bed. Also remember to ask how to check out properly.

People need to remember that this is not a hotel, it's a pub with accommodation. This is the best digs we have stayed in. The rooms are excellent, the food is quality and always cooked fresh with a specials board every night. And as the the staff and management, the service they provide is second to none. All in all a top stay at the most welcoming and friendliest pub ever. It's also in a fantastic location. We will always stay at the coach when possible. Well done to all at The Coach and Horses.
