A group of 6 of us stayed here after canoeing from Ross to Symonds Yat. Nice comfortable rooms, great beer, great food, great atmosphere and a good night's sleep and all at a very reasonable price for a tourist area like Symonds Yat. What more can I say - well recommended!

The location is simply wonderful, especially in the evening when the day visitors have gone and peace returns. Sitting dangling our legs over the river, next to the hand-pulled ferry, with a pint or three of local beer was wonderful. The website does not do justice to the rooms, which may not be large but are very nice. All in... More

We went here on advice of friends Even a fortnight later, on reflection, we have nothing but praise for this fabulous place. Our room, the staff, the food and drink and of course the whole environment, were stunning. Whoever owns this place, you have the most awesome staff!!

Our second stay at this great foody inn. Rooms are immaculately furnished and stunning view of the river. Staff are excellent and food in the pub restaurant is of high quality with good selections. Breakfast was equally excellent. Good walks and amenities for outdoor pursuits on your doorstep but equally peaceful and calming

Just spent a most pleasant weekend at this fine place on our way home returning from a visit to the New Forest. Had the Upper Boathouse room which was the icing on the cake. Spacious, well equipped and a balcony to sit on and admire the views and watch all the canoeists on the river and walkers and others passing... More

Stayed here on the way to a family event in Wales. Even in very wet and drizzly weather the scenery was stunning. Good accommodation for walkers, canoeists etc. Excellent bar with good range of food and drink. Particularly enjoyed the high standard breakfast included.

We weren't expecting much for lunch considering we'd missed the main menu and were down to bar burgers only. What a shock we were in for! There were 18 in our party and we all sat outside admiring the pleasant view over the river Wye. Went in for drinks and to order food, separate bars (good thing?) Lovely selection of... More

It doesn't get much better than sitting outside in the sunshine, with a beautiful view of the River Wye, eating a delicious lunch! My ferrymans lunch was absolutely superb - the tomato chutney was delicious! Reasonable prices, efficient service (and we visited over a particularly busy lunchtime) and they provided a bowl of water for the dog! Highly recommended.

We stopped here for lunch after four hours walking, kicked off walking boots and relaxed on the sun terrace overlooking the river for a leisurely three hour lunch. Beautiful hot day the place was buzzing with people on holiday, walkers and lots of dogs about too. The staff were in abundance and all very friendly and on the ball. The... More
