The Saracens Head rescued us! We had booked a B&B locally, only to be horrified on arrival that the rooms were dirty and smelly (really smelly!), so, having stayed at The Saracen's Head some years ago and remembering how lovely it was, I called late at night to see if they had a room. They had just one! The chap... More

Fifth stay over a number of years and still as good as ever. Beautiful location - enhanced by a glorious display of Autumn colour round and about. Very clean, comfortable rooms and a lovely cosy dining room. The food is fantastic. Excellent breakfast cooked to order and a great range of fresh fruit and pastries, served in a lovely light... We went into the Inn to ask how to use the ferry across the river to be told that it was the barman who was the ferryman! We returned for lunch and the food was great and the service friendly and prompt. We sat outside directly on the riverside to have our lunch and just watched the ducks go by... More

Fantastic location. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also run the hand-ferry across the Wye... Nice accommodation. Great cooked breakfast and lots of fruit to go with the cereal. Good beer. Excellent value at £59 for a double room. Would thoroughly recommend. One thing to bear in mind is that breakfast runs 8.30 - 9.30. They can accommodate something earlier... More

Had a very enjoyable overnight stay whilst visiting the area. Stunning location, quiet, peaceful and very beautiful. All staff were friendly and helpful without being 'in your face'. Bedroom was cozy, with fully opening windows (joy) overlooking the beautiful river. Lovely bathroom. Dinner was excellent, lovely dining room, good service. Breakfast was lovely, quality ingredients cooked to order, with newspapers... More

Stopped for light lunch today after a lengthy walk along the river. Firstly, lots of people were stranded on the other side of the river with no means of crossing over via the ferry. My husband waited 20 minutes ! When enquiring inside the restaurant, I was met with a somewhat hostile reply from a male employee stating it as... More

We absolute love this place after finding this 6 years ago. No real complaint this time after just returning home after a 3 day stay celebrating my partners 70th birthday except we found the evening menu a little boring compared to the menu in the past when the menu was more extensive with a 'Specials Board'. In fact there wasnt... More

We went for a walk along the river and back across the bridge and ended up here, there were four of us and we all had sandwiches and baquets for lunch, cheese and pickle, sausage and chutney and coronation chicken, all came with crisps and a side salad. Good delection of ales too. Overall a lovely pub with great views... More

Went for a nice walk up and down the river, then rounded off with a good no frills (large) lunch baguette and chips. Lovely- and looking to return soon. Prompt service despite it being very busy, welcoming staff and very pleasant location.
