Visited to eat. Place was empty so staff not exactly rushed. Girl tending the bar more interested in her phone than customers. Child's menu was the usual chicken nuggets, sausages etc so we asked if our 6 year old could have a child portion of an adult meal. No...not possible. The food was served by a very nice young girl... Stayed for a 2 night stay in june the landlady and landlord were both very friendly. Plenty of tea coffee and biscuits! Kids loved the bunkbeds. The room was a good size with amazing views mattresses were a little uncomfy. Plenty of storage for clothes which with 3 children was much needed! Breakfast was delicious could of eaten two of... Camping around symonds yat over the weekend. Long walk along the river, arrived at the wye knot Inn for meal and drinks. Very welcoming, really good food and good beers. Wood burning stove. Lovely spot. And free directions back to the campsite 😀

We are stopping in Whitchurch and had pre-booked Sunday lunch. Upon arrival we received no welcome or offer of menus. We were told we could have the Pork Tenderloin for £9.95 when we had booked Sunday Lunch?? This should have been 2 courses for £9.95. The unhelpful and uncaring male who came out to speak in the place of Ann... More

Visited this place about 3 years ago and not pleasant. Tried again hoping they had changed, but sadly not. 12 of us ordered food, unfriendly service(not think he wanted us there). Food was like a frozen meal from iceland. Not impressed at all. Will not be going back ever.

We stayed here for 1 night in September and were looking forward to a good night's sleep in a country pub after a very long journey. Unfortunately that did not happen. We stayed in the double room which is partly over the bar and directly over one of the music speakers (top left room in pictures on web site). As... More

This place serves really good pub food, large portions, and to add to this it is a dog friendly place! I had a really lovely chilli - the best one I've had for a long time (instead of bolognese with a bit of pepper that most pubs serve!). My boyfriend had the scampi which was also really tasty. Really friendly... More
