My beautiful young wife and I were on a road trip and stopped here for two nights having spotted this hotel a few years ago on an earlier visit to Comillas. The rooms are simple and extremely clean. All have fabulous sea views. There is direct beach access. The hotel facilities include a good bar and terrace as well a superb restaurant with fabulous views. We had a great welcome and all the staff were friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend Hotel Josein!

Lovely surprise on our road trip when we thought we would have to find the hotel but actually it is bang on the road into Comillas. Very helpful reception staff. Lovely room and a bathroom with wonderful views. Having the beach access made for a lovely evenings swimming after a good long walk in the afternoon.

This is a simple hotel but the wow factor is it's location. Lovely clean rooms with a sea view feel literally suspended over the beach - you sleep to the sound of the Atlantic, wonderful. There's limited parking outside but the owner is very welcoming and provided us with a ticket for free parking in the road. This is Spanish hotel so a little of the language will help you here and the dinner and breakfast offerings reflect the culture. A really nice little place.

Amazing location - parking a bit tricky. Hotel looks a bit tired but actually room very spacious and clean and with an amazing view straight out to beach & sea. Staff helpful & pleasant. Had dinner in their restaurant - pick a table by the window ! Food was tasty and good value. Lovely to fall asleep listening to the waves. Breakfast - simple buffet but more than adequate.

A terrific location, right on \ above the beach. You can hear the Atlantic thunder on the rocks from your room and watch the waves right below you when the tide is in. We stayed as two adults, two small children and a dog. Access to the beach is via the hotel stairs or public walkway. Although dogs aren’t allowed on the beach, it wasn’t a problem early morning & in the evening. Really clean hotel with a kind family feel. The owner, José was a pleasure to deal with, as was Patricia and even the cleaning staff, who were all so hospitable and kind to the children. The town is great and Jose has some good recommendations regarding where to eat and visit for day trips. What a great find!!

This place was recommended to us by some Spanish friends. It’s a simple place but right at the sea side and it’s a family run business which I my serves home made food. Fresh at its best! Try to get a table at the front window to be able to enjoy the view 😉

View was great and everyone was very nice to us! Could not say better things about this hotel. Absolutely loved the food and the staff. The hotel is right on the beach so you don’t have to worry about taking a taxi or walking far. Hope to be back soon!

I have never had such a bad experience in my life. I checked out after one night and must say that I have never done this before. The owner gave us a room with view on the stairs that lead to rooms at the upper Floor. So NO sea view at all and a lot of people passing the stairs who look straight in your room. I sent a mail when I booked via booking.com asking for sea view. When I arrived the owner said he can not say in advance which room u get. So keep in mind when booking that u might end up spending some days of your precious holiday stairing at a stair 😊The owner's answer was that it could get worse because we saw a bit of the sea, some rooms only see the stairs 😊 We decided to leave however when we got presented the bill for breakfast (we booked a breakfast included). we checked in we were informed that we could have breakfast till 12:00. Seemed logical because the owner runs a bar/restaurant downstairs. We got it at 11:15. When he presented the bill he said it was included till 10:30 but after that time he charges. When I said that this is not really decent, he became agressive.... I guess this person does not really like foreign visitors..... so if you are not Spanish be aware!

We can only comment on the restaurant which we visited on 9/7/2017. The food was the worst we have come across in a restaurant in NW Spain and the service was bad - wrong wine brought, large bottle of ice-cold water brought when we'd asked for small bottle at room temperature, etc. On top of this, the prices charged were exorbitant. Be warned!

We just spent one night after coming off the ferry at Santander. We were 2 hours late in arrival but we could still eat in the restaurant which was great in every sense of the word. Our room had fabulous views and we slept to the sounds of the sea. We are actually going to stay again for three nights on our way back in July so we hope to report as positively then!
