A very good pool and friendly service. The rooms are a bit special with some boasting vast circular jacuzzis in the bedrooms with circular beds! Not cheap but welcome in the summer heat. Decent breakfasts. Needs professionalism but welcome in the Anghiari hotel desert in summer.

Get away from the crowds in Tuscany by staying at Cardo Resort just a km. outside Anghiari, an official Slowcity Italy. The hosts are lovely, the rooms spacious and comfortable, the pool much needed after a hot day in the Tuscan sun. There is a masseuse on call and our hosts also arranged for bikes to be dropped off and...

Excellent place to stay, warm welcome from Maria pia who was always ready to assist or help in any way. Pool was excellent. We were a family of six, included in our holiday was a cooking course which we arranged prior to visiting, Maria pia helped more than needed, which was very appreciated. Would definitely recommend.

Three days holiday in this place during the current heatwave in Italy were absolute bliss. Maria Pia and Franco were warm and helpful hosts, their limited English making our time there even more authentic in a Tuscan paradise of bucolic beauty. Comfort was excellent, breakfast a delight on the terrace, the pool was our haven during the day! We decided...

I'll never forget my first glimpse of Il Cardo. As I turned down a country lane bordered by vineyards and sunflower fields, I saw a lovely ancient farmhouse nestled in a hamlet from a thousand years ago, with a dreamy vista of the Sovara Valley beyond. I knew in an instant I had found a corner of paradise in Tuscany....

We have just returned from a super holiday at Il Cardo. Maria Pia is a gracious host who looked after us perfectly. There is so much to see an do around Anghiari and Maria Pia gave us so much help and lots of advice on places to go. We will definitely return to Il Cardo.

In this day and age, when everywhere you go seems like everywhere you’ve been, with the same boring brands in every modern mall or supposed reclaimed historical site, it almost feels as if the “real” anything exists only in the imagination, lost to your ability to experience it, forever. Well, take heart, for here at Il Cardo Resort, near the...

Il Cardo is located right on the outskirts of Anghiari and in the valtiberina, one of the most beautiful valleys in Tuscany. The small borgo where it is located is a 1,000 years old. The area, known now as 'La Palaia', is home to several apartments and Il Cardo-Bed and Breakfast. We have stayed at Il Cardo for several years...

Very friendly owners, and unforgettable atmosphere. This is Tuscany as one might dream it. This place gives a feeling of this movie, you know "Much ado about nothing" ? an adaptation of Shakespeare by Kenneth Brannagh (Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson, etc.). The Cardo is at the outskirts of the town, so you have this sensational feeling of being isolated...but it...
