We were on an island-hopping trip through the Cyclades, and after having had a pretty sh*tty (sorry for the language there) hotel on Santorini, we read reviews on Google, just to be prepared. The reviews (1 to 3 years old) left us disappointed, but we still went there trying to be as unbiased as possible. And we got surprised: the hotel was actually totally lovely. Friendly staff, good breakfast, lovely -and apparently renovated- rooms with a new bathroom and a balcony overlooking the sea. Best place for sunset (even better than Santorini)! We spent every evening of our Paros days on our balcony, having a glass of wine and watching the sun set.
Very disappointed in reception area- Staff was not helpful! Whenever we asked anyone for anything they were not willing to help. The hotel is situated in a good location. The rooms are small. The shower does not have a curtain so the floors have to be covered with towels to avoid a flood. You must request a room with a view otherwise you face a noisy entrance street. We would not recommend this hotel. The TV did not always work. Only two english speaking channels.
My GF and I stayed here after coming from Athens and then Andros island where we stayed in Airbnb’s at both locations. We wanted to end our trip to Greece on a high note but unfortunately we’re let down here. The only thing this place has going for the them is location and an awesome seaview. If you don’t have a seaview probably not worth it. If you do have a seaview, then make sure that’s all you want in a hotel before booking here. Besides handing you a key upon arrival there is next to zero service here. One of the front hosts is very friendly the other is one of the rudest service “professionals” Iv ever encountered. Don’t think about asking for anything additional without hearing twice about it— talk about making your guests feel Uncomfortable. The shower head was broken and the water Luke warm so when we called about it the one attendee was extremely rude and then refused to bring us a second towel upon request. About the room: beds are a thin and mattress hard...you can feel the springs on your back. Room is moderately sized.. overall I wouldn’t recommend. You are better off staying in an Airbnb— there’s really not much difference except your likely paying twice the cost here at Hotel Nikolai and the Airbnb will 100% be nicer. There wasn’t even a daily maid service to make the beds, cleans the room etc and there’s really no additional amenities here. There are so many other great places here in Paros then to consider staying here again.…
A nicely placed hotel in a quiet part of Parikia although it is very close to the port od Parikia and many beaches and good restaurants. Hotel rooms have been reconstructed recently so they look nice. Standart rooms equipment includes also aircon unit, TV, small fridge. We must appreciate the perfect everydays cleaning of rooms including towels replacement. The breakfests are the only minus. They could be richer a bit. The owner and the hotel staff are very kind. We wouldn't have a problem to come back again. :)
To our surprise the hotel rooms has been recently renovated. The room still smelled like paint. Room was small but very modern. Bed was comfortable. Shower did not have a door and was very small. Water went every where. Breakfast was fair. Rather disappointing but they did offer variety. Some rooms were bigger than others. Not much around there to see. a 15 minute walk into town. Rent a car or a driver to see the town. You can also take the bus into Oai. Food in local restaurants were very good and priced reasonably. Local super market offer plenty of snacks and liquor. Buses are a good way to visit Oai. There are suites avaiable and very large for a family of four.
