I haven't been so disappointed in a long time. Even when I arrived, it was not possible to get a coffee. We knew that the restaurant was closed. But not even a lousy coffee? The advertised cake was no longer available either. The room had seen better days. The breakfast is not great and definitely not for 4 stars. Every baker has a better offer. There are no crispy, fresh rolls. The eggs must have been boiled because they were burnt on the bottom and still soggy on top. Well, at least there was fruit salad and two different juices and water.
The service staff in the evening is great. Nice and hardworking, a bright spot. The wellness area is also great. The best place to go for dinner is Oberhof.
Yes, and when the machine is full, there are also drinks other than water. Simply another Klix machine with hot drinks would be a solution.
I'm really disappointed and expect more from a 4 star hotel.
Well, and WiFi... let's not talk about it...

This hotel is located in a nice area just outside of a small town. There are nice hiking trails just in front of the car parking slot (which is free of charge). Breakfast as good offering was included. Lunch or dinner were optional and servered in an area with a dedicated staff. Best was the recreation area with a well-heated indoor swimming pool and a spa with separate steam and hot area rooms as well as a comfortable front area. Best price performance ration on a visit to Mitteldeutschland.

Stayed in the hotel for one night only and found it to be quite nice and clean. It has friendly staff and the rooms are quite spacious but without any aircon. Also you have to pay for WiFi and this is very poor don,t bother with it. A good outside to sit and have a drink.

That's one you could have for quite some weeks! Out in the green, no traffic, excellent, very friendly staff (they don't mind you sitting longer than the normal opening hours at the hotel bar), rooms with enough space to feel good and a great view!

The restaurant is even said to be famous in the region and you immediately get the feeling, that the hotel was just the right choice upon arrival.

The only minor point is, that there might be a few more parking spaces (still OK) and that the small plaza (loading and unloading the car) could be a little larger.

All in all, you will love the good air around you (since you are in the middle of the Thuringian Forest). A good point to start when planning to hike, go skiing in winter or to visit the nearby brewery museum (Stutzhaeuser).

You won't regret your stay!

We booked this hotel in november holiday via touroperator TUI. Our room, family room, was spacious and nice. Sauna and new pool are what this makes a 4 star hotel. We had a very nice stay, really enjoyed it.Staff was very friendly and helpfull. But our 3star opinion is due to the kitchen: was not horrible, but the daily buffet was just not 4star worthy. If you had grilled salmon one day, you ll get the leftover salmon with bacon the next.... As said, it was not bad, but little variation. Overall we really enjoyed the holiday and yes even knowing that food is less varied, i would go again.

Me and my colleague we just had dinner in the Hotel. We weren't offered the same things the other guests were. Like, for example, the possibility to use the buffet. When, at the end of the meal we asked why, the waitress said that the buffet is only for guest of the hotel. Me and my colleague we have two double rooms for 7 nights. Aren't we guests? The only difference with the other guests is that we are not german and we are here for business and not on holidays.

The hotel itself I would call "basic", it is obviously one of those places hidden in the woods, where the GDR (DDR) secret police (STASI) enjoyed their free time, without beeing disturbed by "normal people". Although the architecture of 60's catches the eye, the management is very obviously working hard to keep the place in a good shape. The hotel is clean and very well managed. The personnel is extremly firendly, professional and helpful. Very tasty food, which offers international cuisine in addition to local specialities.

Booked a wellness and beauty package called "Relax & Schoen", which was the best we did. Great weekend with large breakfast buffet every morning and very romantic dinner for two every evening, Sauna and Spa area with Swedish and Haman style, hot and cold water treatments, relax zone area and even infrared light treatment, even a pair of towels for each and everyone was in the room to use, changed everyday.
Booked also massage treatments, as you get 10% off, great deal for our money. The massage lady is great, we relaxed, forget all busy days and recovered from daily life.
Hotel staff is 1A superb friendly and could read all wishes from the eyes. Great German kuchen to chose from in the afternoon. Fresh and clean air, the location is on top of a hill next to Luisenthal valley. Great hiking area, maps can be picked up at the reception, parking is for free, pets allowed. A walk to the dam, also down to the local brewery and a drive to Castle Ohrdruf is a must do. Will come back again for sure.

Situated in a forest, this is a nice place to stay for a perfect break.

Nevertheless I was here with my colleagues for a business trip for three days, where we had presentations between us.

The rooms were quite small and sound proof.

The restaurant was good, as well the swimming pool and the staff members were pleasing.

Overall a nice experience.
