My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Gemuender Ferienpark Salzberg. The property is a bit remote but has some nice and quaint small villages close by. Of course, there are tons of hiking options nearby. The place was more like a 1-bedroom apartment than a hotel. There are close-by restaurant options and a small grocery store very close too. Some rooms offer a decent view and others not so much.
We booked a two-room apartment in which we could bring our dog. The apartment was well equiped and clean, but the view was awfull: a blind wall in front of us, on the left side garbage containers and directly on the right side of our balcony the neighbours, without any privacy between us and them. In an area surrounded by so much nature, this could not be worse.
This place was a great place to say, quite and it had everything that we needed. The town below was nice and a train station to get around if you don't want to drive is also easy to get too. I would recommend this place. a lot of places to walk around too.
The location is very peaceful with minimal passing traffic or people in the neighbourhood. We thought that we might have had a view of the local hills but we had a garden view instead. However, that was well maintained and enabled us to enjoy the birds including a crested tit. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The shower pressure was excellent with plenty of hot water. There is an additional separate toilet from the toilet that is in the shower room. Everywhere was very clean. The staff at reception were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn't use various facilities such as sauna, laundry and games room. A car is a must as Gemund is a small town in a spread out rural area and you really need to drive to get anywhere. We would happily return again another time.…
We enjoyed our stay with this resort. It is best to have a car. The town is cute, but not much to do. We took a train in the next village, Kall. Road to Cologne, about an hour train ride. They have IKEA furniture, so not to comfortable to me, but the place had everything you need, accept bath soap, hair shampoo, but the kitchen was stock with all you need. A Netto grocery store is just down the hill, they have it all, but they don't have bags to carry your food. We had a nice time going to the Christmas market's and walking the trails at the national park Eifel.
