I was in Lower Saxony for business, and spent one night at Gut Altona. Surrounded by nature, in the middle of countryside, it is well connected to the main roads around. Rooms are large, clean and quiet, all around very silent. Unfortunately a big fire has recently destroyed the main building, compelling to some remedial arrangement (eg breakfast on a...

This hotel is very close to the highway, but it still located in a quiet countryside surrounding. Therefore it is perfectly suited for people who are on a business trip to Bremen and who do not want to stay in the city centre. Breakfast is very good and the hotel also has a restaurant with decent dinner. The rooms are...

We chose Gut Altona due to the convenient location close to the motorway. It turned out to be a thoroughly pleasant surprise, with very helpful and accommodating staff, charming surroundings and a very respectable restaurant. We can highly recommend Gut Altona.

We very much enjoyed this hotel for a one night stop over while touring in the North of Germany. Quaint boutique style hotel with a good restaurant and pleasantly decorated. Breakfast was good. We showed up very late and we're starved and they did their best to get us a few snacks even with the kitchen closed.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gut Altona. Very friendly service, comfortable rooms in a very pretty and traditional setting just outside of town yet close to main highways. The buildings are old but with modern well appointed rooms. There are a lot of recreational activities available within a short distance.

We have stopped over at this hotel for many years, as we frequently travel from Norway to France, or France to Norway. We have discovered this hotel as the ideal midway-point, geographically, which also satisfies our rather picky requirements. Super clean large rooms (OK, design could have been better), parking right outside and a very, very nice restaurant with great...

A warm welcome and a very family friendly hotel. The family room was spacious and had a nice view. There is a playground, although we couldn't use it because it was raining when we stayed. The restaurant serves delicious German food. Breakfast is an extensive buffet. We were travelling and using it as a stopover so the convenient location is...

We booked here because it was halfway between between Groningen and Flensburg, and the website indicated that it had what we required. Situated within easy reach of the autobahn and with a lovely walk through the woods to nearby Wildeshausen, Gut Altona has spacious rooms in separate buildings from the reception and dining areas. Staff were friendly and helpful, the...

This has been my sixth or seventh year staying at this very picturesque hotel and restaurant. Situated a little in the country but right by a major Autobahn it is very convenient in location and charming in the environment. Rooms are outstanding value for money and especially with the B&B rates. Most TV channels are in German. But the country...

Just minutes off the A1 motorway this is a lovely character hotel set in a wooded conservation area. Family run with a sense of pride in the history of the origins of the main buildings of accommodation. Nice rooms with large bathrooms. Only drawback is lack of tea service in the room. Also has no lift to the 3 story...
