Having spent a week in Germany staying at bland, corporate hotels that could have been anywhere in the world it was a refreshing to stay in a hotel that actually felt German! This is a typical country hotel. The furnishings in the room are relatively basic but the bathrooms look newly refurbished with decent waterfall showers and the single bed was comfortable with a decent sized duvet.

The restaurant menu was only available in German but as I was travelling with a German colleague this presented no difficulty and anyways I think part of the pleasure of travelling, even on business, is picking off the menu with little idea what will arrive! Our room was large with a huge balcony overlooking the village but it was furnished to a basic standard. The curtains did not have blackout and the room soon lit up after sunrise. The bathroom was small with poor lighting. There were no toiletries provided, nor tea and coffee making facilities. Whilst the website says there is wi-fi you have to borrow a cable from Reception (though it is free of charge). On the plus side the food was very good. One night there was a buffet and the other a salad buffet with main dishes cooked to order. The hotel has won awards for... More
