This looked like an ideal stopover in the forest on our way back to home in Brussels. The hotel is close to the top of a hill up a steep road. Easy access, well laid out grounds, ample parking space, modern chalet style building with a very nice view. There's good facilities in the grounds for children to play and even a large chess set. We had a nice aperitif on the terrace before moving inside for dinner. We could have dined in the covered terrace area but once the sun is gone, the air becomes quite chilly. The meal was simple and good. Our waitress Sylvia was great fun and made the evening fun. We then wandered up to our room. The room was simple but, as expected, with a good bed with clean crisp sheets. The bathroom was a bit spartan: no little extras. Just bottled soap and a simple shower. Somewhat surprising for a room costing 150 euros, breakfast included. The night brought an unpleasant surprise : the pleasant evening calm was shattered by loud music with heavy drum beats coming from the hotel just up the hill. The windows of our room (which did not close well) offered little protection. This went on all night and as you can imagine made sleeping difficult even with earplugs. When we commented on this next morning at checkout we were told that this was a 4 day and night party which takes place every year at Whitsun. So though the place is no doubt pleasant at other times, avoid it at Whitsun if you are not a raver. And thumbs down to the hotel and booking.com for not mentioning this.

This is a fabulous place, right in the Black Forest Natural Park. The staff were very friendly, speak excellent English and the food in the restaurant was delicious (although we love this area, we are not usually a fan of a lot of the traditional German food), we had local smoked trout which even for a reluctant fish eater was lovely! beef carpaccio with Parmesan, both followed with local steaks which were also excellent. I even managed to find a good wine! 😊 Breakfast was traditional, cereal, cold meats and cheeses with some bacon and scrambled eggs if you wish. The rooms were spacious and had views of either the small lake or forest. Surrounded by walks a great place for walking and cycling. Lovely and clean, a place to cleanse the soul!

This hotel - restaurant has ample space, a sauna, a shop with local products, and offers good food - well done. It is perfect for staying some days and enjoy the surroundings, the walks in the forest and meadows and get good food also a diverse local breakfast. Nice place and excellent service.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a long driving trip to Italy. It was important for us to have somewhere safe to park the car and this hotel has a large parking area. It became obvious after our arrival that some driving holidays also use it on a regular basis. It is very nice, modern reception and sitting area plus a lovely glass enclosed terrace (restaurant). Much needed for the evening we stayed which was a mixture of sun and rain! Our room was small but very nice and it was lovely to have all the amenities in the bathroom provided. Dinner and breakfast were both good.

The pictures and descriptions do not do the Landhaus Lauble justice. The setting is perfect with the hotel/restaurant overlooking the private pond and the valley. The rooms (we had room 21) overlooking the grounds and above the terrace are quite large and extremely comfortable. The service is beyond fantastic - from the family owners at breakfast making sure the buffet was stocked to the young ladies serving on the terrace ensuring our beers were full - the service we experienced was top notch. A great relaxing hotel which we definitely recommend.
