Please be careful when making a reservation here, especially via AirBnB. We were so hopefully about staying in Les Olivettes as a couple with a young baby. We researched the listing (is it ok to bring a baby, distance to town, wifi connection etc ) and had ample communication. Satisfied, we happily completed our booking, as listed on the interface. To our horror, once payment was taken, the manager suddenly began questioning how we got the price we did (a discount was applied on our long stay of 28 days), pressuring us to cancel or take a higher price. We received text messages and phone calls to our private phone number alternately trying to renegotiate the price, pleading that we cancel, or rudely implying we had done something wrong. The manager ultimately canceled our stay and our payment was refunded, but not before we made non-refundable travel arrangements with no place to stay. This is the kind of stuff you fear most when making a big booking!

the only negative was the traffic noise from the road which cuts unseen across the view of the village. that said, this is a beautiful property in easy walking distance of the village and a world class view. we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay, and Florence who manged the place was a perfect host. nothing was too much trouble and she gave helpful advice about restaurants and located a superb horse riding place as the one we had planned to use was closed. there are shared facilities but each suite has its own kitchen and dining area. the cemetery next door has the grave of albert camus (unkept but marked on a plan). the luberon valley is easily accessed from here including bonnieux up in the hills. Lourmarin is full of bars and restaurants. highly recommended.

We have stayed at Les Olivettes three different times. It is always worth returning. What do we love? -- the fabulous owners, multi-lingual but English-speakers by birth, the authentically decorated home where each apartment is unique and special, the pool and cabana area to enjoy in the heat of the day, and last but not least, a walkable distance into the lovely village of Lourmarin for dinner. There are so many delicious choices! Then after the dinner and local wine, you can meander by foot back to Les Olivettes. So choice! This is a central location and we have explored so many of the hill towns, small cities and over to Avignon, Aix-en-Provence and Cassis as day trips.

I would highly recommend Les Olivettes as a place to stay for anyone interested in visiting the Luberon area of Provence this summer. Les Olivettes provides the perfect blend of cozy hospitality--with all the comforts and ease of a domestic home base--and proximity to the Village of Lourmarin, with its combination of history, village buzz (lots of shops and cafes/restaurants along the winding cobblestone streets) and local vineyards. We were lucky to stay at this intimate and charming guesthouse/inn for a week in early September. The appeal of this former farmhouse is largely due to its authentic and seasoned country aesthetic, which includes an airy common room with a large picture window overlooking the property's olive trees and, beyond that, the Chateau de Lourmarin (which dates back to the 14th century), the village church and hilltop clock tower in the distance. Notably, the Chateau offers daily tours and has an on-site cave where it's possible to purchase local wines and other related products. Each suite at Les Olivettes has a private terrace with its own scenic view, a kitchenette and laundry facilities. Although we didn't really make use of it, there is a large and sunny common kitchen, as well as an outdoor swimming pool for those who like to either take a dip or sit poolside relaxing with a book or perhaps some watercolour paints (like I did). Every morning, fresh baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat were delivered to our suite for breakfast - such a treat! I will never forget our time at Les Olivettes and often think of our regular evening walks down the country road, past the olive fields and the chateau, and then along the cobblestone streets that led us in to the village for dinner. Memorable time spent in a magical place...

We have been visiting Les Olivettes for what must be 10 years now, sometimes we even manage two visits a year! Cannot recommend enough, have tried to find other places to stay on par with Les Olivettes, but just found this impossible! Given up, why try to improve perfection! The Mas is beautiful, the rooms fab, the surrounding gardens and pool fabulous. What makes the place extra special is the location, quiet but a 10 min leisurely walk into village life.

We spent three nights here and enjoyed it very much. All rooms are different and we thought all were great each having its own charm. Most rooms have beautiful views of the village. Each of the rooms have small kitchen areas. We also made use of the main kitchen as well. Easy walk into the village. Beds very nice. Bathroom also nice. Basket of breads each morning. Nice common area. As close to having your own home in Provence as you could get.

We were delighted with our stay at Les Olivettes, from our comfortable flat to the breathtaking view of Lourmarin from our French Doored terrace. To awaken to roosters crowing and cicadas singing ... just dreamy. Lovely accomodations that even include a pool. Fresh croissants and baguette arive at your door every morning ... lovely public areas. Only 5 - 6 units, so very private, quiet and restful. Can't wait to return!

Fresh bread every morning, fantastic conversations with folks from all over the world every evening, easy walk into one of the most inviting and pretty towns in Provence (Lourmarin) and only an hour from Arles, Avignon, Cassis and Marseille. A bit longer to Nice, Cannes and Antibes. Elizabeth and Joseph are wonderful hosts. Beautiful rooms with fantastic views all round. Very Comfortable. Great "insider" information about where to go and when. Beautiful setting in the midst of an olive orchard. Stay here for a week or more and travel around to visit amazing towns like Roussillon, Les Baux and so many more. One of the best vacations ever. Thank you.

Well...I have to sigh as I begin this review because I feel torn. The village, Lourmarin, is charming and the residence had a unique petite terrace that bathed in the sunshine for much of the day and into the evening. This is a huge plus because there are few places to stay, in fact almost nil where you can sit on a balcony enjoying the sunshine for both breakfast, lunch and aperitifs! The downside was the church bells. You see this apartment was directly in front of the Catholic Church with the Protestant church nearby and to our surprise the church bells (both churches) rang ALL through the day and...yes...night! Church bells, which are usually charming, had us cringing as the sun went down. We pushed our earplugs hard into our ears but it was vertually impossible to block out the continual assault of these church bells through the night. The owners were kind to allow our Daughter to stay with us, as this apartment is really only set up for two, so I want to acknowledge them for this, but we would have like to know about the church bells and the proximity to the apartment. The other issue was the height of the entrance to the bathroom. If you are a tall person, the bathroom would be incredible uncomfortable, my Daughter, who is just 160 cm bumped her head and my husband and I, well we are about 172 and 180 respectively...so you can imagine going to the bathroom through the night...ouch. I real don't like giving negative reviews and as I said from the outset, I am torn because there were some positives. We found out later in our stay that the owners have a guesthouse just outside of town, but close enough to walk in, that would eliminate sleepless nights from church bells ringing. Please enquire and I'm sure they would make this accomodation available to you. One last thing, any accomodation in the village will have the same problem with the church bells ringing throughout the night.

Thank you for all the kind words you said about our Petite Maison. We are very sorry your sleep was disturbed by the bells (not actually church bells but those from the village bell-tower). We would just like to point out that they are very close to one of our apartments in the village, but nowhere near Les Olivettes.

We were a family of four (kids ages 9 and 2) and we stayed here for 4 days mid July 2015. The location is excellent and walking distance to Lourmarin center. The village is beautiful and classic Provencial. The accommodation was very comfortable and had a lovely ambiance to relax in the evening with a rose or pastis. We stayed in Voltaire which had a/c and secluded from the rest of the rooms. The room was cute with some simple decor. Lourmarin is a good base to explore the other villages in the region.
