Fabulous owners have great style. Their cuisine is all-natural and usually includes ingredients from their garden.
In particular, their historic garden is officially listed as a 'garden of distinction' by the French government.
There's a swimming pool. The hosts (he is a world-famous photographer and she is an acclaimed stylist) are highly knowledgable of the area.
It's a magical place, quiet and restful. The gardens, vineyard, orchards, and trees are of such rarity that you may encounter a solitary famous botanist or horticulturist or landscape designer studying the plants. Highly recommended. Oh and they make their own wine, Hocus Pocus.

There are no doubt many things to enjoy in Provence. If you have spent time there you will know its pleasures. We spent 2 weeks with Bibi and Guy 2nd half of July 2013. Close enough to Cucuron to enjoy a walk to the market or restaurants, but far enough to be anywhere you choose to imagine, Pavillon de Galon (PG) is a refreshing refuge. PG is an hour north of the Med and an hour from Chateauneuf. Everything is within easy driving distance if you choose. We enjoyed a lot, but sitting under the old plane trees as the evening deepened, enjoying a bottle of Le Vaisse rose (local Lourmarin wine), and munching on the scavengings of the Tuesday market, watching the swallows duck and dive, was a pleasure hard to beat. A wonderful place to take some time out.

I booked this on the basis that the website was beautifully presented and seemed to offer an exceptional experience but we were sadly disappointed.

The room was perfectly adequate but nothing special. The bathroom, again, was perfectly clean and served its purpose but the shower was tiny and the towels were hard and scratchy.

Our biggest disappointment was the breakfast. Whilst holidaying in Provence, we expected to feast on fresh croissants, bread and freshly squeezed juices instead we were given stale toast and juice from a carton in the shared fridge. We ended up going for breakfast in a local Boulangerie instead.

It is also worthwhile noting that the pool is in full sun all day with absolutely no shade so not particularly enjoyable for the fairer skinned amongst us! Not a sun umbrella in sight!

Dear Mrs Gils, We thank for your appreciation and we are very sorry and surprised to read your disappointment. The shower itself is in fact pretty large, more than one sq meter 20, and totally opened on the rest of the bathroom, which make it very comfortable with its surface and daylight windows. The towels are drying in the fresh air, in the respect of our politics for environment- they should not be scratchy and we never had any complains before yours on that matter. Concerning the breakfast, we never buy any juices in cartons, they are not croissants everyday (by the way and for your information it is absolutely not a Provençal tradition), but we alternate homemade panettone, croissants, brioches and a delicious real bread, cooked on a roman woodhoven with the best organic flour (borsa). All the jams are from our organic orchard and cooked by my wife in a copper basin, with natural sugar, butter is organic and it's one of the best britain product, with gold medal. With the pool and as we may have had some wind when you were here, we do not set the sun umbrellas, but those are naturally available on request. We do sincerely regret your comments, as we believe that appreciations are very important, therefore we try to have the best amenities and details for our hosts.

It has taken me nearly 2 years to write this review which sounds crazy but when we left this beautiful, peaceful and most relaxing place and came back to the UK I just slipped back into the manic rat race running my business.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the summer of 2010 and wished we had booked another couple of nights....there are only2 rooms which are lovingly decorated in a classic french chic style and the house set in stunning lavender gardens at the side of vineyards and the village of cuceron is a 10 minute walk down a lane where you can eat and drink at several places sitting around the
village square which actually has a lovely pond in the middle.

Breakfast is simple but lovely and there are lovely seating areas in the gardens and we made our own dinner in the evening of salads, cheese and wine while sitting in the garden watching the sun go down over the lavender garden which was a truly romantic time for my wife and I.

The house can feel like it belongs to you as the owners Guy and Bibi who are truly wonderful interesting people keep their distance but are there when you need them.

The pool area is stunning and again you can end up with it to yourself all day long which was great even though the type of people that I think would stay here would be quiet, cultured and reserved.

Within a 10 to 30 minute drive are lots of other stunning Provence villages to explore if you fancy leaving this lovely place but also lovely vineyard walks on your doorstep.

For a short few night break this house is unique, relaxing and truly stunning and is a rare find.

The only thing I could say is that the rooms can get hot at night but it's a minor thing considering everything else.

Chris & Geraldine

My husband and I spent almost a week at Le Pavillon de Galon in late Sept 2010. We highly recommend this beautiful place, which seems way too elegant to label a b&b. Bibi and Guy were perfect hosts -- helpful with suggestions on where to dine and visit, but in no way overbearing. The extraordinary gardens, even in the off season, were beautiful in the changing Luberon light from early morning till sunset.

Our room was elegantly decorated, and breakfast every morning was a joy. Delicious home made spice cakes, fresh baked crusty breads, jams made from abricots or fraises or chataignes picked on the property and made by hand, goat cheese from the artisanal cheese maker at the local market, fresh coffee and tea in the beautiful gardens, surrounded by flowering salvia and sage -- it was heaven.

Cucuron is a short walk away, past vineyards and old houses. It is an ancient town with a beautiful old church and clock tower, and a Tuesday market around the 'etang' in the town center. La Petite Maison, an excellent restaurant in a lovely 18th cen. building, is right in town, and it's worth asking Bibi to get a reservation when you book into Le Pavillon.

There are wonderful towns to visit nearby -- Lourmarin, Bonniuex and Menerbes are all close, and are some of the most beautiful hilltowns in Provence. Aix is nearby, and a little longer drive takes you anywhere in Provence.

One small tip -- Le Pavillon's spacious grounds are directly next door to an artisanal olive mill producing great olive oil and products. Called Oliversion, it's run by a lovely young couple who farm and process the oil and create and market the products themselves. it's worth a visit.

We are almost reluctant to publicize how great Le Pavillon is, lest it become overrun. When we left, we felt like we were leaving old friends after a stay in their beautiful French country villa.
Highly recommended.

After a trying journey from Paris marked by car trouble, we arrived 5 hours late at le Pavillon de Galon. Bibi kindly directed a very professional hired car to rescue us at the TGV station in Aix-en-Provence (40min), and welcomed us to suite No. 3, despite the late hour. We were instantly relieved by the calm and elegant setting. Suite no. 3 is situated under a Magnolia tree that was planted some hundreds of years ago. The fragrance of its blossoms perfumed the suite, a beautiful suite that appears to be decorated by an artist. We opened a bottle of Hocus Pocus, the estate wine, and as if by magic, our troubles were eased. The vacation began.... We slept very well that night and for the rest of our stay. We awoke late and readied ourselves in the sumptuous bathroom suite with luxury amenities, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast of natural yogurt, homemade confiture (apricot or fig), honey, local fruit (apricots, nectarines, figs), fresh cheese, butter, breads, and croissants. After breakfast, we meandered through the gardens which were planted with heirloom fruit trees, perennial artichokes, sages, and lavender. Throughout the gardens the waters of an ancient spring bubble and spill from one fountain pool to the next. In addition to these beautiful water features, there is a generously sized infinity pool for swimming which we enjoyed each day before our afternoon excursions to local area destinations. Bibi also recommended excellent restaurants for dinner. If you have room in your life for beauty and magic, stay at le Pavillon de Galon. You will not regret it.

This is the most beautiful and awe inspiring place. The moment you arrive you feel like you have entered another world, overwhelmed by the beauty and peace and contemplation and delight.
It is the work of true artists with such a fantastic vision. It is set in the most beautiful part of Luberon in Provence. Guy and Bibi's home, an old hunting lodge, is the result of many years of work, creating a magical and visionary garden steeped in the essence of Provence with old and new planting, which immerses your senses with the wonderful smells and the colours and textures and the sounds of nature.
Everything has been so well thought out and so tastefully put together. There are only two rooms so it feels very private and special. The rooms are at the side of the house, beautifully decorated with wonderful art work. There is even a well equipped and homely kitchen you can use as well as a gallery/ sitting room with a library of books on gardens and plants. The private swimming pool area is so serene and relaxing with beautiful views. Breakfasts are delicious brought to you by lovely Christalle. Everyday with different selections of wonderful homemade jams made from some of the many fruit trees in the garden.
It is close to the lovely nearby village of Cucuron which we loved to walk to through the vineyards in the evening light where you are surrounded by nature in total peace with hardly a soul around.

Bibi and Guy are the most charming and interesting people and such kind and thoughtful hosts. Bibi can arrange anything for you - booking restaurants for us and always with such wonderful suggestions. We felt very lucky to have found this place and to have had the chance to stay here. It is a very special place and will stay in my thoughts ... A place I will long to return. We wish to thank them so much for - it was such a special time we spent there.

I was in le Luberon a week ago with my girlfriend and we spent 2 days in a stunning place called le pavillon de Galon...
This place is like heaven but the difference is Pavillon de Gallon do exists !!
Le pavillon de Galon is amazing firstly because of its colourful garden with flowers of the season ... this is spring ..so blue iris is the dress code of today...soon lavander will pop up all over !
The gardener is called Guy ..he can tell you about the story and the magic of this place because he is the magician.. The french minister of culture listed Guy's garden as "jardin remarquable" !!!

This is the garden à la "franco-anglaise" ....then there is the master piece : the 18 century house called "pavillon de chasse" ...18e century was "le siècle des lumières" meaning the most sophisticated and charismatique era for France... philosophy and litterature were at their pic !

At that time Pavillon de Gallon was already a retreat place for week ends ..
The charm is still the same ...especially in their cosy "chambres d 'hôtes" arranged and decorated by a lovely lady called Bibi....(nickname for Elizabeth...) she always anticipates your expectations ...bringing you croissant ,fresh fruits and "pain croustillant" for breakfast with your coffee...
she knows how to make you feel at home...If it's summer she will show you the swimming pool after breakfast and then tell you the best walks through the vineyard and the "truffiers" yes they grow "truffes"also !!!! golden mushrooms that you can slice on a crunchy toast with a filet of olive oil and a glass of "Hocus Pocus" the wine of Pavillon de Gallon isn'it so french ?!!!! and so chic !!!!??
This place is full of surprises ! did you know this region of Luberon parc is a listed buy UNESCO ?!!
We're back to Paris now but we're not sure that we ve been to this fantasy world called pavillon de Gallon ....we don't know if it exists or not but we like to dream about it...

So nice, so friendly, so expiring, so calm, such a lovly dog, such a good care about Your food and art excursions - just perfect. I never tasted a wine so close to the plants, where the grapes grew. The "hocus pocus" (the name of the wine) is the trip worth on its own.

It depends if you want to leave the village area. Cucuron is a 10 minutes walk and has many great restaurants (I think a couple Michelin starred restaurants as well). But if you want to do excursions or visit another area - would definitely be useful to rent a car.
