This was a week day lunch. There are two dining rooms, both with magnificent panoramic views. One was serving a three course menu de jour at 11.50 and 15.50 euro. This menu hadn't attracted many diners which surprised me. The other room was offering 25 & 37 plus the carte. The line of demarcation was not clear as there was...

Thank you for your comments following your visit to our restaurant. One of my main managerial concern, is to make it as wysiwyg as possible and that starts with displaying various information outside the building, amongst which, our restaurant offering in both French and English. I personally would not venture into a restaurant without making sure that I somehow connect...

If you want a beach hotel then this is the one for you! Views are lovely and the beach is fantastic and just a few steps from the hotel. The hotel welcomes dogs and our dog loved the beach where they are allowed out of season. The hotel is 2** with simple furnished rooms but with good quality beds and...

Thank you so much for your positive comments. Our venue is often praised for its location and seaview, and we have to admit that indeed, there is something to it ! Our two star rating would be no legitimate excuse for not providing our guests with a decent level of comfort, and we like to draw some inspiration from higher...

I am just back from a short trip to Brittany. I have travelled extensively in this area over five years, and by far my favourite hotel in the region is the Au Roi Gradlon in Audierne, which keeps me returning year after year. There is a wonderful sense of calm at this hotel, due to its highly efficient operation and...

Dear sir. To say that the review of your recent stay pleased us is a total understatement. In fact, it put a huge grin on our faces ! We are glad that on top of the qualities that you found in our venue, you also pointed at the beauties of the area we are located in. Audierne is a jem,...

We were directed to this hotel by the local tourist information office on a very wet afternoon last May and were so pleasantly surprised by what we found. The room had been recently refurbished and was very well appointed but most of all the views from our corner room were spectacular, looking along the beach and out to sea. The...

Thank you very much for your kind comments ! It is not that often that we welcome visitors from down under, and we are glad that after such a long journey you stumbled upon our hotel. Apart from keeping the windows as clean as possible, our responsibility is minimal when it comes to the view from the rooms and restaurant....

This hotel was an overnight stop for a motorcycle tour by a group of 6 friends / colleagues, and for this purpose it was more or less perfect. The back of the hotel is straight on to the beach and the view from the balcony was superb. The reception staff were friendly, very helpful and spoke good English. Rooms were...

We recently stayed at Hotel Au Roi Gradlon for three nights whilst touring Normandy and Brittany. The hotel is in a lovely location on a headland with a long sandy bay beneath the hotel and, with its own very convenient car park, it is a good base when visiting the area. An internet facility is available free to guests. We...

Book early to make sure you get a room overlooking the bay. My friend and I sadly ended up in the one room with a view of the road - but it didn't really matter. The earlier reviewers are right - it's a lovely place with friendly people. The food both at breakfast and dinner is excellent. However a little...

We have just returned from a week's holiday staying at this hotel. We were with four other couples and we used the hotel as a base for our cycling holiday. What a marvellous choice it was for us! Very comfortable, spotless rooms all with a terrace overlooking a beautiful white sandy beach. We slept lulled to sleep by the sound...

Au Roi Gradlon is literally on the edge of a lovely white sand beach just outside the delightful little town of Audierne (nearly a mile by road, shortcuts on foot). It's not luxurious or opulent but is extremely comfortable and pleasant and the value for money is amazing for such a situation. (In fact when paying the bill my husband...
