Booking 4 nights in the Carpe Diem to recover from the Christmas festivities and bring in the New Year in peace and quiet was an excellent idea. So much so we have said we should do the same every year! This was our 5th or 6th visit and we simply love staying in this wonderful hotel. It really feels so much like home and the owners and staff are all so kind and friendly. It was a real pleasure to get up and walk along the beach (especially for our dog) and know that we were coming back to a lovely breakfast and a few hours of leisurely reading in one of the two comfortable sitting rooms before going back out to the beach. 2020 has started off very well for us. We feel completely relaxed. It is sure that we will be back staying the Carpe Diem quite a few more times before 2021!

We had a lovely family week-end at Carpe Diem.

This hotel as everything you love: a soul, a style, a smile, and everything required for your comfort, both in the rooms and hotel lounges.

This is the place where you are happy even when it rains: you can sit in the comfy sofas, with a drink, your book and watch the open heard on your left. Just perfect.

Big up for the “covid” management of the hotel staff.

An online search for a quiet yet centrally located place to stay in De Haan brought us to Manoir Carpe Diem. The warm and extremely friendly welcome from Barbara immediately set the tone for the rest of our stay. After a short tour of the salon, the honesty bar and the breakfast room, our suitcases were taken to the room. The morning after a first wonderful night in a very good bed, a generous breakfast awaited us with all kinds of fresh rolls, cereals, sweets, fresh fruit, cheeses ... too many to mention. Due to the somewhat bad weather, we spent an afternoon indoors in the bar, relaxing with a book and a drink. Dining is not possible on site, but host Patrick is happy to give tips and recommendations about restaurants in the area.
For those looking for a stay with a very nice and homely atmosphere, a very good breakfast, a spotless room and super friendly service from the owners and staff, we can only warmly recommend this hotel.

...but we cannot understand the outstanding reviews of my predecessors.

Location in a very nice residential area, a good 10 minutes walk to the beach, a good 15 minutes to the nearest cafe or restaurant. No shops or places to eat in between.

Cap Code Suite (most expensive room category for around €300/night) is in the basement. High steps inside the room. Furnishings OK, nothing special. No coffee table on which you could put a drink or snack. Small terrace with a view of a 1.50m high hedge.

No fruit, no chocolates, no flowers, not even the obligatory bottle of water to welcome you.

Very thin walls - you can hear every noise/word (including the toilet flushing) from the neighbors or the rooms above.

Pool nice and big and at a pleasant temperature, but the edges and floor are dirty. No pool towels, bathrobe is made of fleece and therefore unsuitable for drying off.

Dogs are welcome in the house. The bar, which is run on a trust basis and very nicely furnished (gin and tonic for mixing and pouring yourself, €16), was occupied by a couple of guests with two huge dogs during our stay. Another 3 (!) large dogs in the room next to our suite. You have to like that.

Breakfast in the main lounge (without dogs) was very good - very nice room. Beautifully set. Crockery, white tablecloth, cloth napkins - very classy and tasteful. Food selection was impeccable. Very attentive and friendly staff.

In summary: a nice place to stay with a few drawbacks - no more and no less.

We visited this hotel bar for a drink on Friday night, 18th September, and were told that it was in fact an “honesty bar” i.e. that guests helped themselves and left what they thought was the fair price of the drink. However when I told the lady who was the night manager that we were not in fact staying in the hotel, but we would like to have a gin & tonic and a beer, she said that we could not avail of the honesty bar and that she would serve us. She then charged us 19 Euros for the two drinks! This is not very “honest” to overcharge people who whilst they are not staying in the hotel, but they are guests in the hotel bar.

Quiet family run hotel, in a calm residential area. Short walk (10 min) to the beach promenade. Barbara was very efficient and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast buffet (Covid regulations) had to be served at the buffet, which could have been awkward, but staff handled it very well. Room was quiet, parking on street round the hotel appears to be very safe and adequate. Relatively pricey.

We had wonderful 4 nights in the Long Island suite at the Manoir Carpe Diem. The location is a quiet residential area of de Haan, a part of the city that has retained its original flair (in contrast to the seaside promenade). The suite was spacious and charming, the bathroom with tub and large walk-in shower newly renovated. Breakfast was opulently served in a very nicely decorated and cozy room. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful, resulting in a very personal environment.

The best thing about this hotel is how much they take care of every detail. The small things and personal touches are what make you feel super comfortable. The rooms are super clean and big, with every service you could expect to have in a hotel.
The breakfast is an amazing buffet in a beautiful view and great quality.
The biulding is very characteristic from The Haan and it is perfectly located to go for a walk on the beach or to go for dinner in any of the super good restaurants that they recomend in the hotel's reception.

Honestly I cant say anything bad from this stay y really recomend this hotel for every type of stay (romantik, business, family....)

This charming Manoir is located in the most beautiful residential green area of De Haan. called "La Concession" and is 200 meters away from the sea. Service is efficient, friendly, never intrusive and always ready to help if needed. Children and dogs are welcome. Even in this time of COVID, the staff was always smiling and helpful. The breakfast buffet is gorgeous. There is no restaurant in the hotel but the staff will for sure give you all the indications about the different restaurants nearby. A special mention to the honesty bar contributing to make you feel at home. We went there for resting during 8 days. It was our first holiday for my wife and myself in 1 year; We are ready to go back to business as usual. We will certainly come back.

This is a beautiful, cozy, stylish boutique hotel. The location is great (to go to the beach, to the many restaurants in this upscale beach town) but it’s the taste and stylishness of the decoration, and the kindness and efficiency of the staff that are the highlight of a stay there. Truly highly recommended!
