i stayed there for 4 days. everything is really good. staffs were really friendly and helpful. people who are in search of peace and calm place to stay then i would recommend them to check this hotel. the scene from the hotel is very good especially at morning time. Thank You Lindwurm hotel for your warm welcome. hope to visit again.
After a full day of seeing the sites of Hallstatt, the lake, and the salt mines, we found our hotel and checked in. The gentleman at the desk was very nice, helpful and welcoming. There are three floors at this hotel so the first thing I asked was if there was an elevator, and there was! Our room was very comfortable and sparkling clean. We had a huge bed, large wardrobe, a tiny bathroom with a big step up into the shower and out again, a small table and chairs to use our computer, a big sunroom with a comfortable sofa in it, and a shared balcony off the sunroom with an incredible view of the mountains. These rooms with views are at the back of the hotel. There is plenty of parking out front and lots of stores and cafes around the hotel. A nice breakfast came with our room. We would highly recommend the Hotel Lindwurm,…
We were only here for the night as our pre-booked hotel was unreachable because of the extreme snow. The hotel receptionist was brilliant and very informative. The room was basic but did the job. Everything worked and the view outside the balcony in the morning was beautiful with the snow. Breakfast was adequate In the morning also. They have the comfiest pillows in the hotel and we spent the rest of our stay in Austria talking about this hotel and how much we’d like to go back. Not just for the hospitality, but for the best nights sleep haha. We’d come back again.
Only here for a night so we could visit Hallstatt. Very convenient on the main road. Our room was clean with a nice balcony. The deck staff was friendly and spoke English well. The breakfast in the morning was nice.
We love the Hotel! We have returned every year for the past 5 years to visit Hallstatt and we will only stay at the Lindwurm! The location is a very short drive to Hallstatt and the views out our windows are spectacular! They served us a great breakfast with the friendliest Hostess that just gave a special personal touch to be rivaled! See you again soon!
Compared to our usual destination in Bad Goisern (the Pension Maria Theresia), the Hotel Lindwurm has some real issues. In fairness, the Hotel Lindwurm was recently purchased by a Chinese concern (probably to cater to the increasing amount of Chinese visitors this region of Austria is experiencing, they're packing them in to the little town of Hallstatt nearby). You would expect some issues associated with the ownership transfer and, indeed, there are many. As much as we would have liked to give this place at least a "3" (mostly due to ease of access as well as the view of The Alps from our south-facing room) we can't ignore some of the problems with the property.. Their web site (as well as TripAdvisor's) states that all rooms are "no smoking." If that's the case then why are there ash trays all over the place and on all the balconies (news flash: smoking on the balconies will result in smoke wafting into neighboring rooms!)? The swimming pool was ice cold in spite of the outdoor temperature having been quite warm all summer long (it was too cold to enjoy). Maid service was very lacking (didn't get our room made up for 2 days in a row until we finally complained). Can't complain about the variety of food served for breakfast but can suggest it'd be nice if they would find a way to keep the scrambled eggs warm. Didn't appreciate the non-stop balcony banter from some of the neighbors either. We also noted some odd odors around the property including our bathroom (mold?), the spa area, and by the entrance to the downstairs bar. The positives include the free parking (but don't get in too late, it might be gone), the bar (we had a hoot chatting with the Slovakian bartender), and the view from our south-facing balcony. I doubt if we'll return, given that we normally stay elsewhere, but hopefully the new management team will figure out things before too long. This place really would be convenient for skiers and others passing through the area.…
We had booked a twin room about 5 months before our trip. Though we were sure we chose two-single-beds-room when we book, there was only one big bed in our room. When we went to complain, a lady at the reception told us, with no smile, they had NO OTHER ROOMS AVAILABLE for 3 months. No proper apology. However, we searched on the internet and found there were bigger rooms with two beds available for that night. She should have offer one of those rooms for us. If she apologize and asked us politely, we might pay the difference though I think they shouln't charge for that. From balcony of your room, you can see other guests on thier balcony because there are only low fences. You could see inside other rooms depends on location of your room...we felt unsafe. It was quiet at night. There was free wifi in the rooms.…
The rooms where standard and only had one power outlet in the wall which was very disappointing. After skiing a hot shower would have been lovely but this was not the case, shower was cold for the full period of my stay. The most dissapointing feature of my experience at Hotel Lindwurm was the food, the portions were small and the food was basic and bland. Also when a complaint was made about the food the staff were uncooperative and unhelpful. There was also many unnecessary and unsupported fines that they tried to be enforce.
Pros: 1. Hotel located just beside the road, with free parking lots in front of the hotel 2. With spa and indoor swimming pool, and a garden 3. Nice view of the mountain in the morning and evening 4. Owner is friendly and promised to update the hotel facilities 5. Breakfast included, with dinner option of a flat rate including appetizer, main course and desert. Cons: some facilities need repair, wifi signal a bit weak
We stayed in this hotel 3 nights. The staffs speaks english, but was not pleasant every day. Our room was acceptable - clean and comfortable enough with nice balcony mountines view. The wifi was horrible. My colleague had the same problem. We ussually spent approx.30 minutes for log in. Internet is very slow. Standard but same breakfast buffet menu for 3 days, no sausages. I tried to use my Diners credit card, but they no longer take Diners - especially their POS termimal has a Diners logo, staff said it is expensive :(
