After the COVID lockdown my partner and I were ready for wellness, great food & hiking.
Our expectations were exceeded
The hotel is family owned and you realize how much they love their job. Or should I call it their passion?

For us it was awesome that you had almost no internet connection to completely relax.

Absolutely fantastic! The location, the room, the spa, the service- and the surrounding mountains and hiking possibilities- much more than we could ever hope for. Breakfast was excellent. Also perfect play area for the kids.

One of a kind hotel. If you are looking to escape in a wonderful nature and relax, even if it is only for the weekend, I couldn't recomand a better hotel and spa as Gramai Alm. The spa area is located outside, soroundet by the beautiful mountains view. The services are excellent and the food to die for. The rooms are clean, nice and very charming. I can only recomand this unique hotel in the heart ♥ of the nature.
If you are traveling with children they will be happy to play outside in the nicely playground and to enjoy the small animals zoo.

The location of the Gramai Alm is without a doubt magnificent in front of the Karwendel Mountains, but who is seeking for a calm and peaceful place needs to look for a different hotel. Hundreds of tourists are visiting the terrace, play ground and little zoo. By car, by bus, by bike. During the day, at least on the weekends, it is very busy and not at all what we expected. Too much “Disney Land” and mass tourism. In the evening it became better, had there not been a noisy marriage in the main restaurant with live band. This was another negative surprise as we expected a romantic dinner.

Why did we expect less mass tourism and a more hideaway experience? Because of the price which is absolutely on a 5 star level and created some expectations on our side that weren’t fulfilled.

Positive: The Spa is amazing and really well done!

even thought I don't live far from this destination, I never expect the overall package to be so impressive.
I can only recommend taking the time and spending a few unforgettable days at the GRAMAI.
One of my best days ever!
Many thanks to the GRAMAI TEAM!

Rieser family has created an unique place to stay. Their hospitality, tasty cusine, stylish decoration, great spa and wonderful nature - these are the main reasons to come back again. I will never forget the sound of happy cows returning from the pasture.

Great stay. Beautiful hotel, room, spa, hikes, views etc. We had a special week with the Almabtrieb. Nice music and great food.
It is a popular place for daytourists on the terras too. Luckely you don't find them in the hotel or spa.

We've planned to come back next year!

We stayed in this hotel with friends for 5 days. The location is simply fantastic. It is located at the end of a valley some 10 minutes drive from Pertisau. The hotel is a stand alone property. It comprises of the hotel itself and two adjusted “mountain” restaurants, playground and stabling. There is a large parking lot there tends to be full of cars and buses during the day. It is a very popular destination for bus loads of seniors and children.

The rooms are relatively small and simple but clean and cozy. The large restaurant and its terrace are coping with hordes of people everyday. Some of waiters speak English, German gets you further. The staff is polite and helpful Food is absolutely fabulous. We tried always something different, everything was delicious. Breakfast buffet offers wide variety. Lunchtime is very busy but we never had to wait too long. Dinners, after parking lot empties, are quite. Adjacent alm (mountain restaurant) offers meal in rustic style. One can also buy locally made cheese, bread, bacon and sausages. The playground is well equipped. Kids can play day for hours while parents watch over them from the terrace enjoying views on the mountains and an apfel strudel with cream and ice.

The top attraction of this hotel is its location. It is at the end of the toll road from Pertisau. Drive slowly, the road is narrow and used by cyclists, too. At the toll boot you inform them that you are going to Gramai and you will get a “pass” valid for the duration of the stay at the same price as a single entry. The hotel is so isolated from the village that it generates its own electricity with generator. Cell phone signal, a very low one, is available only on steps outside the hotel.

Right from the hotel’s door several hiking trails start. Indeed, many restaurant visitors are day hikers returning from their hike. The valley around the hotel is narrow, bordered by steep mountain walls. There are several options from relatively short and easy hikes to longer and truly demanding ones. You can find hiking tips on the hotel’s website.

Pertisau is located on Achensee (lake Achen). It is a very charming village with many hotels. There is a cable car to the top of the hill above it that offers wonderful views on the lake and surrounding mountains. Other possibility are boat tours on the lake. There is a golf course in Pertisau. Shops are quite pathetic in Pertisau. There is a bit better choice of stores in Maurach that is 5 minutes of driving away. We did not mind since we did not go there for shopping.

We genuinely liked the hotel and put it on our list of go-there-again places. If I have to point out some drawbacks it would be the hordes of daytime visitors and smoking policy. Most of the restaurant sections allow smoking. Since the hotel part of the hotel is not separated from those restaurant sections the cigarette smokes can fill the hotel through the stairwell.

Booked 1 night in the family room on short notice (2 days before arrival) to escape the heat wave in Germany. Already the booking process through their website is fantastic with live chat function! Use that rather than any portal. At arrival we spent most time in the Spa which is simply amazing! Beautiful views combined with comfortable rooms to chill out and relax. Dinner was also very enjoyable. All in all, a real treasure in the Alps! We will come again

Everything was perfect ! The hotel is decorated with attention to detail.
The 5 course menu was a dream and there are very good hiking trails.
The spa area is not overcrowded.

We’ll come back.
