No special luxuary, but a nice hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was sufficiant, diner very good, knowing this is a ***superior. Rooms were clean with enough space, large balcony. Wellness wasn't very big but never the less relaxing after a day walking. I can recommend it if you want to stay in a beautiful environment and have a clean, good room and food after a day in the stubai tal.

Bedrooms very modern and large and comfortable. Food poor and service at meal times too slow and rigid. First night it took 3 hours to serve 5 course meal. It would be preferable to be able to access salad bar at the beginning of the meal instead of having to wait for starters and soup to be served first.

The hotel has a nice cozy atmosphere and is located in Fulpmes, at the beginning of the Stubai valley. It takes a 20-min drive to get to downtown Innsbruck and about 30 minutes to get to the start of the new Eisgrat cableway. My double room was big, clean, quiet and comfortable. Service at the restaurant was a bit slow, probably because the hotel is slightly understaffed when it comes to serving large groups as ours. Food is nothing to write home about and the breakfast buffet is adequate. Beverages are maybe a bit too expensive. The wellness area is small but offer excellent relaxation after a good day of skiing.

Lovely 3 star hotel. Recently refurbished with comfortable beds and very clean facilities. Staff v helpful and accommodated our children's dietary requirements. They also booked us taxis to and from Innsbruck airport(30 mins away) as well as advising on local bus routes etc. Ski hire at Leo Sport is v efficient and 2 min walk away. Hotel is 2min walk to ski bus to Schlick 2000 slopes (5min bus ride to slopes). Also 2min walk to Stubaier Gletscher bus,but this bus takes about 45min to ski lift. Worth it for slopes! Breakfast is typical Austrian fare- cold buffet with warm eggs. Evening meal is a set menu with a few choices but all v good and tasty. Lovely sauna and relaxation room downstairs. Recommend for families. Remember, you're in Austria and everything will not be in English. Surely that's part of the fun?

Pros: location Cons: - breakfast without any hot meet (e.g. bacon, sousage...) - distasteful and oversalted meels in the evening, - toilets without any ventilation, all the smell & humidity goes to the room (!) - smoking area close to dining room and reception, all the space filled with tobacco smell (no wonder: the owner smokes cigarettes in the bar with his friends every evening long)

We stayed on a ski holiday with Thompson / Crystal as a family in a 3 person room. The standard Austrian single / double bed and a pull out sofa bed. The mattresses were not so comfortable and very hard, though maybe this is an Austrian thing. The room was spacious, clean and nice and warm. We had a spacious bathroom with bath and shower, though some rooms only had a shower. We had a balcony and though it wasn't on the preferable front of the hotel it did look down the valley and gave us an amazing view of the valley. The restaurant provided ample food for both breakfast and dinner, and generally there was a selection of 3 courses. When these didn't appeal the A La Carte menu provided ample choice and not overly expensive. Drinks were comparable in cost, and possibly cheaper than the UK. The pool was nice, though a little chilly and was a winner with our daughter, though the sauna / spa is not for kids! The location is amazing and Alpbach is a fantastic spot, quiet and easy access to the slopes at Inner Alpbach and Alpbachtal. There is plenty of skiing / snowboarding for beginners and intermediates and if you time it right the ski bus will take you directly to / from the hotel to the gondolas. The drying / boot rooms etc are ideal and make sure your gear is clean and dry for the next day on the slopes. The only negative is the lack of a smoking ban in Austria! As the bar is sufficiently small it would appear that the owners allow smoking in the bar, mainly to suit the locals it would seem. If smoking was banned the bar would be a much more inviting place. Several of the bars in Alpbach do appear to be smoke free, or have special ventilated smoking rooms, which may be a better option. That is really the only downside, as the staff were very friendly and welcoming and we would certainly return again, hopefully next year. Alpbach really is that special!

Don't go here if you are English and dont have kids. It looks great from the outside. The owners are rude and only polite to german / austrian guests. They smoke all over the place, at breakfast. one evening we became trapped in the sauna recovery room as someone turned the lights off without checking for guests in there after 7pm. This caused us to crawl along the wet floor to find our way out, and avoid glass doors and other hazards in the dark. The room furnishings tired and dated, the telephone handset actually had ear wax in it !! The bathroom was not cleaned once in a whole week. We were not informed it had Wifi, which eventually we paid for. The beds were made every day.. and it has a great view !
