Wonderful place to have holiday. Resort has spacious and neat rooms, the place is quiet and peaceful and the beach is made of fine sand. The staff is very helpfull and kind. We also liked the restaurant.

Excellent Resort with good food and friendly people. Perfect for unwinding and recharging. Large rooms, great views, limited number of guests give an exclusive feeling. Activities include SUP, canoeing, snorkeling and diving. A small fitness room is also available. Make sure to book a massage on the beach.

We stayed for a couple of nights on the recommendation of some friends who had previously stayed here. We had a lovely room by the pool which I would recommend if your budget allows. The staff were lovely and the breakfast and lunches were great. We did not eat dinner here as decided to try other options which were close by. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed our on the beach massage. I would love to stay here again as it was so quiet and relaxing.

The quality of the stay is better than some 5 stars big names. We keep visiting Ao Prao, Le Vimarn, Paradee all together like 4 times a year. Thus time we stayed in room 400-401 with a friend. The staffs remember everything about our previous requests like extra beds, extra duvet, extra water etc. staffs at breakfast even remember our favorite table. Thank you all the staffs who work hard for keeping us guests feel as comfortable as home. Thank you K Savitree for looking after us all so well :)

Everything is perfect. Wonderful experience. Dream location, at the end of the beach with no nuisance from cars. White sandy beach, spacious, quiet and very clean rooms. Communal areas open onto the sea. The pools are superb and everything is in a very green setting. The service is very professional and all the staff are dedicated and very helpful. A true 4-star experience, an exceptional interlude that begins as soon as you arrive at the pier. A discovery and an address to remember. 🙏🤩👍

I have been there three time since October. The service is deteriorating. Some of the staff are poorly trained. At breakfast, the cook station staff was constantly in his phone, ignored me even when I stood in front of him. Even during a slow day, the stuff just stood around and didn’t collect dirty dishes from the tables. I hope to come here more often because it is really a beautiful resort, but hopefully the quality of the service will improve.

Ao Prao resort is located on a lovely beach with clean sand and gorgeous swimming in the shallow waters. Rooms are large and well set up (we had no 306 overlooking the swimming pool and beach). There’s a choice of restaurants both in the Ao Prao hotel and neighbouring establishments. And there’s a lot of choice in the town, a 200 baht taxi ride away. Staff were fairly unobtrusive but friendly and helpful when asked. One minor quibble - I was surprised to have to pay 600 baht to take out a sea kayak. It wasn’t a big deal but when we were paying over £1,000 for 4 of us to stay it seems stingy. But overall, Ao Prao is the best option for a relaxed stay on Koh Samet

I’ll start by saying that the hotel’s surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. The beach is one of the best on the island - clean and tranquil. It made spending time in the hotel a delight. And overall, we had a really memorable time - which was enhanced by exploring the island on motorbikes every day (which you can rent from the hotel). However, there are a number of areas where there could be significant scope for improvement and which, if improved, could make this a much better class of hotel. These are primarily: 1. There was repeated miscommunication with the hotel staff, who generally-speaking (with the exception of one or two receptionists) have poor English. It would of course be unreasonable to expect everyone to speak perfect English; that’s not my criticism here. But what I will say is that a lack of common language between us and the hotel staff made asking questions, even simple ones, about our trip difficult and led to mistakes. 2. The food is really poor at the hotel restaurant, Breeze. We had expensive Thai food which was inedible in part and the only bad meal which we have had during our two week stay in Thailand. Until improved, I’d suggest going to other restaurants on the island - Banana Bar is a real highlight. 3. The rooms which we were first shown to were unacceptably far away from the main hotel and up a number of flights of steps. We asked to change and were moved with no questions asked, which was a great result for us. We thought the hotel dealt with that issue brilliantly. We wondered how often they had encountered this issue having shown people to those rooms. And to be honest, those rooms shouldn’t really be hired out at all unless it is for a serious discount and it’s made clear to guests when they book. 4. Parts of the hotel feel unloved and a bit neglected to be honest - I don’t want to be too harsh here as it may be that the hotelier hasn’t been able to put as much money back into the resort following COVID and it’s aftermath. In particular, the room showers could do with an update. And generally there is an outdated feel to the hotel which could do with being modernised - the furniture in the common parts, the shower by the pool, etc. For the reasons above and taking into account the price paid for our stay, I would give Ao Prao three stars, but my lasting feeling is that with a bit more money, love and attention to detail, it could become a four or five star in the future.…

Great place for 3 days week end. Very clean, spacious and service is perfect. Beach was clean and resort was very quite and peaceful. Great for relaxing. Breakfast is very diverse and good from local Asian dishes to western style breakfast. Evening is great for barbecue of various seafood.
