Detailed Reviews
Really lovely staff, the rooms are brilliant with the best bed and view. We had breakfast here every morning which is very satisfactory. Come here for the rooms not the beach however, it is not the best and you can not swim due to sea urchins on the sea floor. My favourite part is the gorgeous jungle and garden.

This hotel is part of the Samed Resorts group which groups the more 'upscale' resorts on the island. We chose this one as it is on a quiet beach and still not too far from the main 'center' of the island so we could easily go out and have lunch/dinner outside the hotel. We had the room on the ground floor that is closest to the sea which has a little terrace with stairs/table from where you can enjoy the sea right below you. Would highly recommend booking this room as that was a very nice bonus. We very much enjoyed the hotel as it is small-scale, boutique like resort with a relaxed atmosphere.
We had two nice dinners in the restaurant, but breakfast buffer is a bit 'too' basic imo for a hotel of this standard / price class. It is geared more towards Asian tourists. The side orders (especially pancake with caramelized banana) are very good though.
You can rent motorbikes for 300 Baht a day right next to the hotel which is great for touring the island. All in all we had a very pleasant stay in this resort.

We stayed at the Ploy Sea a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. The hotel was fairly quiet and so they very kindly upgraded our room to a sea view. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. In particular a lady who worked on the front desk called Ratchadaporn. She was amazing and helped us so much. The food in the restaurant was a good standard with plenty of choice and the sea front was just idillic. Looking forward to returning again soon.

We arrived at the resort with a very warm welcome and and cooling drink. We were showed to our room and decided to upgrade to a sea view room for an extra fee. We were offered 10% discount on our consumptions in rhe resort. We had an issue with the Wi-Fi, which was not working in the room. The assistant manager, Peter, couldn't do enough to fix the problem, and he did. He came to check if everything was fine every morning during breakfast. The whole team was excellent. Thank you

We stayed at the jungle deluxe room. Our room has a lot of space, quiet, clean and well designed. The hotel isn’t far from Bangkok, and it also doesn’t take long to take the ferry ride from mainland. Breakfast was great and neat. Staff are helpful and kind. We would love to come back and stay here again!!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had the most wonderful time. The resort was very quiet the staff were attentive and the rooms were really clean. They had a restaurant here which provides lovely and very tasty fresh Thai food, although it is a little more expensive but understandably so. The hotel is not too far from Sikaew beach which has a range of bars and water activities you can do during the day. However, if you want to sit by the sea and read a book you don’t have to leave the hotel, it’s extremely peaceful to do that and have a dip in the sea if you fancy!
A lovely feature of the rooms is a cotton bag/tote bag that you can use for your shopping. Plastic bags and most plastic in general are banned on the island which is brilliant, and has meant that the island has really cleaned up since our last visit. We will stay here again as we really enjoyed the hotel and how accommodating the staff were.

I almost hesitate to write a review on this hotel because I am concerned that so many other people will discover it that it will not be available for me when I return.
Let's start with the pick up in Ban Phe. We booked online and our room included free ferry pick up. We had been concerned because we had three suitcases with us and were worried about having to lug them on the ferry. The pick up was flawless. We arrived at the private ferry lounge where our luggage was taken and handled for us and we didn't see it again until we arrived in Koh Samed. This resort group has a private lounge and pier which was very comfortable and welcoming.
Upon our arrival in Koh Samed our luggage magically appeared and we were taken to the hotel which is in walking distance from the pier. We were warmly welcomed and given a welcome beverage and then an opportunity to choose between two different rooms.
Our room, number 207, had a full Oceanview from the second floor. The room was spotless and clean and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job throughout our stay. The room has a mini far, hair dryer, free coffee and tea, and a window seat that looks out onto the ocean. The window seat could actually be used as a third bed for a child or teenager. We had a small balcony with one chair. The room has dark wood paneling. Our only concern with the room is that it is not very light/bright. However, we are perfectly content and delighted with our room.
The hotel has a new and beautiful restaurant. It is open air with delightful Thai type seating that overlooks the ocean. The restaurant staff were wonderful. Breakfast was included in our room. We were given a menu from which we could choose as many items as we would like and breakfast was prepared to order. The menu was not elaborate, but we enjoyed our banana pancakes, omelettes, Thai seafood rice soup, fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt and many other options. We usually lounged around for an hour at breakfast.
The hotel has a deck with lounge chairs that overlooks the ocean and an infinity pool and spa pool. We are here in the beginning of high season and there was seldom anyone else in the loungers or in the ocean. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. We did come during the weekday to avoid the weekend crowds. We were offered free snorkeling equipment and the staff met all of our needs, including arranging an island tour at the specific time that we wanted to go.
We had lunch and drinks by the pool and dinner in the restaurant. The squid garlic pepper we had for dinner was fabulous. The prices were very reasonable.
There is a private beach but it is not a very deep beach. However it was perfect for us as it was so private that there was no one else around. We are not too far from the pier so we were worried that it would be noisy with boats going back-and-forth but that was not the case. We enjoyed sitting in our lounge chairs on the deck and watching the ferries which are actually quite quiet.
The hotel is a 15 minute walk from town. We loved having access to town but being able to come back to our tranquil Place on the beach. We went and visited many of the other beaches. We were so glad that we did not stay in Sai Kaew as although it had a better beach and was a longer and deeper beach, it was noisy and crowded. Sai Kaew might be a great place if you were a young family or a backpacker.
This was a place for complete relaxation, getting away from it all. We will definitely be back. I have traveled through most of Thailand and to several beach areas. This is my favorite. This is not the place to come if you're looking for a lot of nightlife, major crowds, and the type of stuff you find in Phuket. If you're looking for a place that is complete serenity, this is the type of place you want to find.
Absolutely loved it.

I liked this hotel, close to the Pier for transportation and a great place to relax. Its far away enough from the hustle of the main town (10 min walk). we had sea views, a private beach and not many tourist business going on around the hotel.
The info online does need updating, as there is no longer a floating deck restaurant on the sea. As a consequence, a new restaurant is being built next to the hotel. Sadly we did have to endure a team of carpenters hammering throughout the day for 12 hours. Not ideal when relaxation is required.
The good news for future visits, there will be a new restaurant next year.
The Team at reception were very welcoming. (Ammy was very helpful).
The rooms are great, perhaps they are dark but I found the dim lighting to be cosy and relaxing after a day in the sun.
the whole place is clean and new, I like the ambience and style of the place (even though I dislike the colour orange, it works).
Breakfast is good and efficient service too.
If you book online with a travel site, its a good idea to research times of 'Samed resorts' free ferry.
This is the hotel companies own ferry service that takes you to the pier close to the resort. We had taken the bus to Ban Phe and took the main ferry.
On return to mainland, the Hotel and ferry staff were most helpful, including a car to the Bus station.
This is a great place to stay. We will return.

This hotel is a little further from the main beach but it is quieter and really relaxing with its own beach and a beautiful pool that lights up at night. The wooden rooms give it a really nice feel, the beds were very comfortable and everything was spotless. The breakfast is delicious too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely stay and were sad to leave! Thank you Baan Ploy ❤

Will keep this short and sweet.
Koh Samet was definitely not the island for us but that's another story...
The hotel itself was very nice.
Pros:
- Staff were pleasant, efficient and friendly,
- Room was modern, very clean and spacious although with poor lighting,
- The attached restaurant was spacious and modern,
- Location just a 10 minute walk from public pier or a couple of minutes from their own private pier,
- Resort has their own boat transfer to Ban Phe,
- Good pressure from shower,
- good breakfast
- We didn't use the pool but it looked nice, was large and clean.
- grounds were clean, beach swept free of rubbish and debris
Cons:
- Wifi did not work in our room,
- Only one English speaking channel on the TV and that was the news.
We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was more expensive than what we were used to paying in Thailand however the meals were large, fresh and tasty.
It was the nicest looking hotel that we saw on the island (as far as we ventured) and if you are going to go to this island then this would be the pick of the places to stay.
