We stayed for 3 nights in a luxury safari tent and had a great time. The lodge is right next to the park gate and zebra walk in the land next to the lodge. The restaurant has a great view and is the perfect place to relax. The food is very good and lots of options. There is also a pool table and some games. The safari tent was comfortable and had a wonderful outside bathroom. We found the accommodation options very convenient as it meant other friends could pick the accommodation based on their budget and preferences. The manager was very helpful in organising anything we needed.

They were able to accommodate our last minute booking when we decided to divert our vacation and stop at Lake Mburo for a night. The lodge itself is beautiful open air and has a great view. Also a great take off point for night drives, where the park ranger and guide picked us up right Leopards Rest after dinner for a sunset into night game drive. It definitely felt like camping, as there were all outdoor facilities and exposure to some bugs but overall facilities were clean and stuff was helpful

Stayed here for one night on a overland trip.

Katie the manager was very friendly and happy to chat.

The shared bathroom block was amazing - the best shower I had in 2 weeks of camping through Kenya and Uganda. Excellent water pressure and hot hot water.

The upstairs bar and sitting area was something I’d expect from a 5 star resort, with a good selection of alcohol and reasonable prices.

Wish all our camping sites had been like Leopard’s Rest.

This was a good and peaceful camp, right next to the park's entrance so a very convenient location. We could hear many birds around us at all times. The beds were comfortable and had very good mosquito nets around them with no holes (compared to some nets we've seen in other camps and hotels). The outdoor bathroom is a fun experience and the installations are good. The plugs for charging devices are only available in the main lodge during daylight hours, so in case you need the heads up, here it is. We had dinner, which was okay, and the breakfast which was good. We would go back to this rest camp.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the lazy camping tents. Absolutely the best budget friendly option for those travelling to Lake Mburo. The lazy camping had raised beds in the tents with shared showers and toilets that were nice and clean. Food was amazing and great value. The staff were lovely and so accommodating. Would totally recommend to everyone! Will be coming back!

S00° 31.877’, E31°0.673’ Of the more than 10 camps in Mburo NP, Leopards Rest Camp offers a range of accommodation, from bring your own tent to luxury glamping tents with normal bed and bathroom inside. If John wants to show you all options, take your time.

In December 2022, we went for a simple double dome tent costing $10 a night. Ablution block with toilets and hot showers was nearby. After sunset, the humidity rose and the tent became damp inside. The guard dogs slept next to our tent. Safe feeling.

You can bring your own food and cooker, but we decided to eat at the only other option: Leopards Rest Camp’s restaurant in the main building on the first floor (2F). You can place your order by phone around noon. The food was well prepared and in line with what is served in other camps: large portion of colonial-era pub grub. Beer is 8000sh, but this expensive drink came with a friendly chat from the female manager from Boise, Idaho. Breakfast was also large: 2 large pancakes with good coffee.

We liked the view from the central building on Mburo NP, the relaxed attitude and the many accommodation options. Recommended.

For the low-buget travellers (without their own vehicle) we would really recommend the walking tour they offer. For 10 USD you get a 2 hour walk just outside of the national park, where quite some of the same animals can be seen (zebra's, antilopes, birds), since there is no fence. Our guide John who also works in the camp was a well-educated and friendly man. He has learned us a lot about the various animals and their behaviour.

Very close to the national park reserve and the main building is very cool as it is 2 floors and all wood amd open air. The amenities need work as they are outdoors and also open air and a slight walk. Location is very out of the way unless you are visiting the reserve and the road is terrible. There were large piles of horse poo everywhere when we got there but when someone complained they did pick the piles up and move them out of the walking paths. Food was okay. For the price though it was very cheap and meets any backpackers standards.

Not worth it the price (a safari tent is 150$ and our toilet was not flushing and there were mouse poo on our luggages at the end of the stay).

The British girls in the front office were not kind and not welcoming.
The local stuff had some really good members which should be empowered more.

Only 3 bikes have no issues of chains/breaks/gears

What to say about this camp ... it is just amazing! The staff is welcoming and friendly and make your stay better ! You can enjoy all the beauty of the park and the animals without paying the entrance fee. We did the biking which was really worth it! The accommodation was well arranged and the food was so good! The camp itself is just wonderful. If you want a peaceful place where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset in the middle of a national park that is the place to stay!
