At Peponi, we feel that the space and its energy will speak for itself, offering a dazzling experience without much need to look beyond what Nature has generously provided. Accommodation options include eight en-suite bandas ranging in size to accommodate individuals, couples, families and larger groups as well as permanent safari tents and camping. Tents can also be hired at Peponi. Also available and accommodating up to three people is the age-old caravan, which has been updated since serving as the first form of housing at Peponi in the 80's! The kitchen serves up delicious and mouth-watering dishes. Seafood caught by local fishermen at Kigombe, meat and vegetarian dishes for all tastes as well as pizzas and snacks at the beach bar. Grab a seat at the beach bar or stay up top; sit, relax and take in the staggering sites! The dhow-in-residence, 'Pepi' which is captained by Mwashonde, visits the Sand Island daily, an exquisite site emerging only during low tide! Jump off the dhow for some snorkeling within the Marine Park just before reaching the island and enjoying a picnic lunch! Kayaks are available for rent from the camp for those keen to explore the surrounding area. It is also possible to organize fishing trips around the famous fishing area within the Pemba Channel. Snorkeling equipment is also available to hire to visit the coral gardens near shore. Local trips may include visits around the local salt farm, Coelacanth Research Centre, Amboni Caves, Tongoni Ruins, the nearby mangroves as well as Tanga and Pangani. It is also possible to arrange a boat trip down Pangani River. Amani Nature Reserve is a great day trip from the camp. Local boats travel daily to Zanzibar for those keen to make the journey by sea! For an independent adventure, it is also possible to rent bicycles or piki-piki's and design your own route around the area!

We really enjoyed our stay in Peponi and wish we had longer there. We had three adult women glamping in the huge tent on the beach - 2 sharing a queen size bed and there was a single bed also. There was a hammock right outside our room too. We made the most of the beach bar and

Stayed here in December 2018 for just a two night break; really wished it could have been longer. The resort is located immediately next to the crystal clear Indian Ocean; white sand, palm trees, paddle boards and the warmest water you'll ever swim in. The rooms were clean,

I was here with my girlfriend for a few days in June. The resort is 1 hour drive south of Tanga. The area and the cabins are designed equally lovingly and beautifully. Perfect to escape the hustle and bustle and relax for a few days. Food, drinks and service were also very good

This was just what we needed after a long and stressful drive from the mountains. Very chilled and funky vibe. Large cool rooms in beach bandas. Food was outstanding especially the vegetarian breakfast and fish dishes for dinner. Just be aware that as the bar and restaurant are

We can't recommend Peponi enough. Carys the owner was welcoming and gave us an amazing deal on her BRAND NEW dorm rooms! Given that we were the 1st official guests of the dorm, she was open to our feedback (which was hardly anything given how great they were) and made sure we

You have two options. You can choose to stay in a tent and use the camping facilities (which are absolutely fine) or you can stay at a banda a kind of wooden cabin. That's what we did. The banda includes a private bathroom. There are also family bandas which fit something around 5 or 6 beds. They also come with a private bathroom.
