Being there just for dinner. Some food on menu not available , cocktails correct , as well meals were good but for standing who seem to be high, some disappointment. Fresh and grilled fish OK but nothing tremendous or superior to other restaurant, and price quite high class for the food: good but medium class in matter of sophistication you may expect according price.

A small hotel with only twelwe rooms. The hotel is well maintained. We stayed in room 3, next to the pool, with one king size double bed and one single bed. They also provided us with an extra single bed. Spacious room and bathroom. Fridge, A-C, wifi, everything up to standard. Daily cleaning service. Great service, very friendly and helpful staff and owner. Good breakfast (included) with eggs, toast, pancakes, fresh fruit, milk and cereal. One of the highlights was the pool, big enough to swim in (15*5m) and an absolute must in the afternoons and evenings. We loved everything about the hotel except the coffee (awful) and dinner (mediocre). However, the food here was no better nor worse than in other restaurants on the Islands. Located a few minutes walk from the town centre and beach. A small shop just outside the hotel and a take away restaurant 2 minutes walk away. About 10 minutes by car to the north (taxi 150 SCR one way), there's a restaurant called 'Le Parisier', serving the most delicious pizzas.

This is a small hotel with 12 rooms, but we found it very pleasant. Not too expensive either. Stayed there for 4 nights in August 2005. Beautifully situated. Pool very nice. Half rooms have air-con and overlook pool. Others are gathered very nicely around a garden with a table or two in. Actually 2 of these two are air-conned too.
Useful shop next door; 5 minute walk to Grand Anse - a small town near a (not very pleasant) beach.
The Britannia's restaurant is recommended in various guidebooks and we found it very acceptable indeed, especially the a la carte menu.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Overall, I would recommend this place.

This hotel is simple, and run by a friendly Seychellois family who are freshly arrived from London. They are lovely, and do anything they can to give you a nice stay. The rooms round the pool where I stayed are spacious and well equipped. Clean too, with tea making facilities.
The family would do things like bring you a fresh coconut in the evening as a surprise. This is one of the cheapest hotels in the SEychelles, and one of the best!
It is not near a beach, but any bus costs just 3 rupees (next to nothing)

Room was very clean, good bed and mattress, fridge, excellent breakfast to set you up for the day, free wifi and excellent restaurant. Has kept the charm of a family run hotel with Seychellois staff employed not all imported staff like some of the larger hotels. Recommended for the local ambiance and very close to other eating establishments if you don't wish to eat at the hotel.

The hotel is away from the beach but a short walk away . Close grand anse town centre. Well kept creole style rooms . Friendly staff and a great pool to enjoy those warm island days. To top it off the best creole food on the island this beautiful small family run is definitely worth a stay on praslin.

I had read a lot about low quality of cheap hotels in Seychelles before my trip and I was very pleased with my stay in Britannia. The hotel consists of some brick-and-mortar bungalows with 2 or 3 rooms in each, separate reception+bar+restaurant building, pool and boutique with beach clothes and souvenirs.

Rooms are big and comfortable and equipped with everything you need, including fridge, air conditioner plus big fan on the ceiling, TV set, safe deposit, tea/coffee facilities. There is also a nice open veranda, well-protected from rain, with two chairs, a table and a frame for drying your wet clothes and towels.

Breakfasts are very good: buffet with fresh fruits (melon, watermelon, papaya, banana, pineapple, orange), cereals, toasts, butter, fruit jams, milk, juices, tea, coffee, and eggs being cooked for you as you like (scrambled or fried with bacon).

Dinners are upon request and a la carte, mostly traditional Creole cuisine, pretty standard for the most of (good) Seychellois restaurants. If you don't want to spend so much for eating, you can go down the road to the round-about, there are two "take-away" kiosks with cheap although too hot and spicy Indian fast-food (big portion of rice with curry meat or fish and a salade). At last, you can buy some canned food at mini market situated just outside the hotel fence.

Overall, everything was above my expectations. The only downside is the location. It is slightly off the main road and the beach line, so you should walk about 10 minutes to the beach, where you can discover another bad experience: the Grand Anse beach is mostly shallow, so you can't swim there normally. But there is a nice place just under the pier (before the police station, to the right of the round-about), where you can also find a shelter in the shadow of coconut palm trees. If it still isn't an option for you, Britannia Hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the best Praslin's beach, Anse Lazio, three times a week. If you rent a car, reaching a nice beach isn't a problem at all. At the other side, Airport and Vallee de Mai, famous coco de mer trees park, are pretty near, just few bus stops.

Lydia and her staff are warm and attentive. Her husband Dewit prepared the best Creole food we had while in the Seychelles. The breakfast in the morning is much more than continental, there are fruits, crepes, toast, and eggs to your taste. Half board is a good idea. The Inn is also very close to the bus stop, where regular service takes you to most places on the island. The Inn also offers free transport twice a week to Anse Lazio or Anse Volbert. We were made to feel at home here, and enjoyed the pool and verandah.
