Great View, Charming
NUMBER OF ROOMS
We had a great stay, the owners and staff are really friendly and we would definitely go back again. The boat trips are highly recommended. We stayed for 5 nights in August and the Beach Villa was good value for money.
The 9 rooms are located directly at the beautiful Grand Anse of Praslin Island. The food of the restaurant belongs to the best of the island. The owners and the staff are very friendly. It is possible to arrange boot tours to other islands, like a snorkling tour to St. Pierre in combination with a visit of Curieuse Island with its Grand Tortoise. Also fishing trips are possible. The owners help to organize a car rental. WLAN available (very small fee).
I had the opportunity to stay for 5 night in February and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The property is on the beach, grounds very well kept, room nice, clean and comfortable. The owners are extremely nice and very friendly. You can also order meals in advance if you like and if you like Curried Octopus Just ask Mary France and you will enjoy a fantastic meal ! They can arrange tours, car rental, give you great info on what to see, do and best places to see. It's nice to stay where they treat guest like family.
Excellent B&B for our first family holiday. We had stayed on Mahe, and decided to island hop to visit a family friend, who lives on Parlin. Well, what can I say we loved it, very laid back atmosphere, great location being right on the beach. Jack and Maryanne looked after us to well. The rooms are very spacious, clean, air con very high standard. Lovely breakfast and what a fantastic base to explore the island. We will be back and we would highly recommend staying at Beach Villa. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back. xx
My wife and I had a more than mitigated stay at the Beach Villa Guesthouse, room #1. In a nutshell, we will never get back to this “guesthouse” if we ever have the chance to come back in Seychelles. "+" sides * Accomodation is clean * Air conditioner perfect * Car hiring partner cheap and accomodating (and Plan B possible really near) * Wifi is correct (charged 100SR per - don't expect any discount) * cleaning staff really kind * small town with close supermarket and 2/3 takeaways (5/10 min walking). "-" sides * When we entered the room, the owner made us understand that only water and juices are allowed in the room. If you are planning to have supper in the guesthouse, note that it was organized only 2 nights over the 6 nights we stayed. Plus, when supper is organized, you have to choose and order "à la carte" in the morning what you will eat in the evening. That's why we never ate there, since it was too restrictive for us being back at a given time to eat something you chose in the morning. We preferred going in the nearby takeaways (that close at 10.00pm for information). That's why we didn't understand the concept offered by "Beach Villa Guesthouse", which is not really a guesthouse since dinner was not made regularly, and not really a hotel because they forbid to bring food but don't have a snack service to offer. * The room could have more plugs available : in our room, just 2 were free to be used by us. * Room is not very luminous at night (lamp quite weak) * TV never worked. We reported it once to the owner who barely answered he would ask to his nephew. We didn't insist because it was no big deal not to have TV, but the owner never gave or asked any news on the problem. We think he never really planned to fix it. He was showing much more interest when it came to mean of payment and paying the last 20% (I was able to pay it by credit card from the beginning, but he preferred cash, that I gave on the 3d day after "some" reminders...). * The beach in front is nice just to have a Seaview, but it was full of alga when we were there. We took a bath one time, that was our last bath there. We preferred renting a car and going to Côte d'Or/Anse Lazio which are outstanding beach. * We were really disappointed of the breakfast, which was described as generous in the TripAdvisor comments. For us it was just correct: one small dish of fruits, and choice between omelet OR "ham & cheese", coffee OR tea, one glass of juice. Not bad, not generous, but we expected more from what was described as the "highlight" of the place. It's not a buffet. * Garden furniture are convenient but could be renewed (some are kind of broken, or seem dirty – they are not) * Terrace was nonsmoking in contrary to other accomodations we rent in Seychelles * Relationship with owner: Jacques can have sometimes a clumsy communication. He can seem pushy/directive on some subjects (payment, tours proposed by Guesthouse, checkout time, other topics where his answers are really "raw"), and not really responsive on some of our requests. For our checkout -which is still part of a client experience-, he has been really pushy with my wife while I was not there, taking her luggages (which could be nice) insisting roughly that she should immediatly join me now (which was less nice given the tone used... which was border-line to be almost agressive), disturbing her in a discussion with other clients with a kind of "OK?! Can we go now?!". Not professional at all. We finally chose to spend our 2 last nights at the Indian Ocean Lodge, which is the neighbor lodge. It was only few Euros more, but the experience was much, much better and had nothing to do with the Beach Villa Guesthouse.…
