The owners were very welcoming and really helpful. The rooms are very clean and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The hot tub is for two people and in the garden. Spare towels for the hot tub and to take to the hot springs are provided which is so thoughtful and helpful. The rooms are well stocked with glasses, mugs and... More

We booked this facility via Booking.com as part of a 3 week holiday touring the South Island. Unfortunately the writer had a passport problem which delayed the trip by two weeks. We contacted all of the booking locations we had made, and everyone of them were amenable to deferring our booking for two weeks after we called them and explained... More

A great few days spent relaxing in comfort at Amuri Estate Retreat. Lisa & Chris are fabulous hosts. The cottage itself is very well appointed, with books, music and a very warm fireplace for those chillier autumn mornings and cozy evenings. Everything that you could think of is provided, from a warm and comfortable bed to top notch bathroom toiletries... More

Disappointed to find what was billed as an exclusive 'retreat' was a bed and breakfast found near the end of a rough unimproved road. We stayed in the cottage separate from the main home and were informed that this would disallow us the breakfast part of the bed and breakfast but could cook for ourselves with the provided eggs, meats,... Lisa and Chris were very welcoming and great hosts. We loved our comfy room with amazing views across to Hanmer Springs village and surrounding mountains. The food was awesome - we had a yummy antipasto platter and a delicious full cooked breakfast. We also indulged in massages and they were a real treat. I highly recommend Amuri Estate Retreat.

There are no adequate words to describe how fabulous this place is! Beautiful rooms throughout, nice thoughtful touches everywhere, wonderful views, sumptuous meals, and -- the best part -- the kindest and most unforgettable hosts, Lisa and Chris. They made our stay the most memorable. I would return in a heartbeat!

We loved Amuri Estate, from the warmest of welcomes from our hosts to the gorgeous cottage set amongst olive groves. So much love and attention has gone into this fabulous retreat. The only place to stay in Hamner. I highly recommend .

My wife and I enjoyed three great days in Hanmer Springs staying at Chris & Lisa's wonderful retreat. We were made to feel welcome from the start, and found we had a lot in common, and as is typical in New Zealand, there are only one or two degrees of separation before you find you have friends and places in...
