We went with our two adult daughters and had a wonderful three days. Mostly the others were couples but we still felt very at home as family group. Everything was fantastic with outstanding rooms, exceptional service at the front desk, restaurant and truly wonderful extremely fresh seafood. It was without doubt the best food we had at any hotel that we have stayed at in Peru. We particularly enjoyed lomo Norteño, Brochette de atún con pulpo, Sudado de pescado. It's a great location on the beach although need to be a bit careful with the sea because the waves can suddenly get quite big and powerful. Will have to go back when things get back to normal

Hotel's Favorite
After months of research for our 20 year anniversary trip to Peru, we settled on a week in Mancora at DCO Suites. We spent the week prior hiking the Inca Trail, so when we finally got to the rest and relaxation part of our adventure, we had such high expectations. Paula at the front desk welcomed us with champagne and chocolate strawberries and said Leave everything to us, time for you to relax...I about cried. Our entire week was amazing, from the morning coffee on the terrace watching the ocean, to the quiet walks along the pristine beachline to the bustling town of Mancora and then taking a motor taxi (tuk-tuk) back to our quiet piece of heaven. Every single member of their staff is just outstanding. Their service is the best we've received anywhere. The food in their restaurant is out of this world. We had so many items for lunch and dinner and all of it was perfection. The sesame crusted tuna over risotto was our favorite. Every morning was this French toast that I looked forward to when I went to bed the night before, and always the fruit salad with delicious fresh fruit. We also had a couples massage which included a turn in their sauna, and a soak in the Jacuzzi with a bottle of champagne. What a luxury and oh so worth it! We can't say enough about this place. It was the saddest day when we had to check out. Oh, and we wanted to stay an extra night and Paula worked scheduling magic and made it happen on the fly! For a couple celebrating a milestone such as 20 year of marriage, this is the pampering we were looking for, and we got it in spades at this little piece of paradise. Thank you to Paula, and all the staff at DCO for helping us make memories for a lifetime.

ALERT: Keep the body gel they give you complimentary! I have no idea what they put in it, but I use it on my face as a moisturizer. Every single time I use it, I always get comments that my face is glowing. COMPARED TO ARRENAS: I also stayed in Arrenas during my same trip to Mancora. I would say that if you want a more intimate experience, less people, and more quiet, then go to DCO. If still want a beautiful hotel but would like to see more people around, bring your family, have more space in your room, or larger grounds to walk around on, then stay at Arrenas. Both hotels are incredibly hospitable but have fairly different themes. DCO is an absolute dream, exemplary customer service. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the welcoming staff and relieved of all my bags. Every room has a stunning view and balcony. When I walked into my room, I was greeted with champagne, fruit, and chocolate. The atmosphere is incredibly serene as it fairly secluded. The design has a cool feel and every aspect is meant to channel relaxation. During my stay, it felt as if everything was centered around me. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The food was some of the best food I had in Mancora and Lima. However, I will say this. I am not sure if all the rooms are the same size but my room was on the smaller side. It was gorgeous. But still fairly small. LOCATION: DCO is a little far off from the center of Mancora, 2.5 miles to be exact. If you want to take surf lessons, you will need to take a motor from the hotel. You could also run along the beach and get to Mancora center easily and it is a gorgeous run. PRICE: DCO is about $200 US dollars a night. In my opinion, it is worth it if you want a relaxing and smooth experience.

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights during our honeymoon in Peru. We had a beautiful room that had a balcony with a great view of the ocean. The hotel itself was also gorgeous and the staff were all very friendly/attentive. They even gave us a little beach tote with some stuff for our honeymoon. Overall, we had a lovely experience at DCO.

After hosting our families for a large wedding celebration in Lima, our honeymoon to Mancora was the perfect way to press “pause” and slow down the happiest days of our life.  One of the most special wedding gifts we received was a four-night stay at the D.C.O. Resort and Spa at Playa Las Pocitas in Mancora.  The entire team at the DCO Resort and Spa went above and beyond our expectations to create the perfect environment for our visit. We landed in Talara airport in an impossibly romantic propeller airplane from Lima and were greeted with the friendliest airport pickup greeters from the DCO Resort.  Once we arrived at the lush, highly manicured DCO Resort and Spa estate along the beach, we were shown to our room, the Master Suite, complete with a jacuzzi bathtub and open-air shower overlooking a private terrace out to the sea.  From the moment we unpacked, the staff showered us with spa gifts, fresh fruit, decadent treats and delicious cocktails. We are normally big adventure travelers, but having just thrown the wedding, we needed every single minute to recap all the details and special moments.  We only left the property once because the atmosphere, amenities and outstanding customer service kept us entertained and supremely satisfied for the entire stay.  When we were not lounging by the luxurious pool area, we were perusing the beach library or walking the expansive sandy beach that hugs the DCO Resort. On our last evening at DCO Resort and Spa, we booked a sunset couple’s massage that started with a steam bath and ended with a jacuzzi hot tub and a fresh bottle of chilled champagne.  For dinner, the staff set up a fine dining display on the beach complete with white tablecloths and a romantic walkway and heart shaped perimeter marked with candles.  Needless to say, we listened to the seashell windchimes and ocean waves all night, wishing it would never end. If you are looking to create a special memory, the DCO Resort and Spa is a perfect slice of luxury beachside to the natural beauty of Peru.
