Had a family meeting last weekend and everyone was pleased with the place and the spent time. Good barbecue, amenities, big swimming pool, countryside landscape, farm animals. There are some bungalows to spend the night, but you can also go for the day. Recommended!

We visited Pampas del Sur last week for a day trip from Buenos Aires. Based on the website, it looked like a beautiful place to spend the day and do some riding. It was however, quite a different experience. When we arrived it seemed ok, the girl at the front desk was somewhat welcoming and they served decent empanadas, etc. After that initial contact we were left on our own, while the weather outside was chilly and damp, inside was downright freezing and no attempt was made to make it more comfortable. We were left on our own to sit there like fools doing nothing in the freezing main room. That room was not only cold, but dirty also, with giant spiderwebs and eggs dangling from the lighting fixtures. Additionally the furniture was old, smelled like wet basement and had dead insects scattered around on the cushions...nice! We had come to ride horses also, and had to repeatedly ask the front desk to arrange, although we had prepaid for it. When we finally were told to go out to the barn by ourselves...there was one person gearing up 3 horses for 7 riders...and upon closer inspection I saw the horses were in poor condition to say the least. All of them were obviously neglected and suffered from cracked hooves, dirty coats and unbrushed manes and tails...not sure about the shoe situation, but they were sliding on the mud. The person who was supposed to be the guide, made no attempt to find out level of experience, give any instruction whatsoever and seemed to be quite hostile to even have to deal with us. It was literally one of the most horrible days of my life. I refused to ride, although I have some experience, as it not only seemed unsafe, but would perpetuate obvious animal abuse in doing so. All I can say in closing is don't be fooled by the website, which gives a completely wrong impression. It was downright awful. Obviously the place is in major decline and should be closed. Not suitable for anyone.
