Hotel's Favorite
I live in the area and have been waiting for post-covid reopenings so that i could take my parents to Nomi for dinner. We did not stay at the hotel. I had emailed beforehand and asked to be advised when the restaurant would be open, so when i did, i called the next day and made a reservation. when we arrived, we were greeted by Elise, given a brief tour of the lovely and spacious lounge area on the main floor, and taken downstairs to the dining room. the food was exquisite. we ordered along Elise's recommendations and were not dissapointed. we like the usual restaurants in bancroft, but this was really something else. some menu items were unavailable, and there were some delays with the credit card terminal, but these were completely understandable being that we were in the restaurant < 72 hours after they were told they could open inside. if the hotel is anything like the restaurant, i'm sure its worth a stay too, but even if you can't stay here, you have to eat here.

We have been coming to Nom i for the last 3 years and enjoy our stay everytime we come. The resort is located in a beautiful area. You can rent mountain bikes, canoes in the summer / famm and snow shoes in the winter. We usually come twice a year - once in the winter and once in the summer / fall. The staff are always accommodating and pleasant. Their restaurant serves food that is to die for - so so good! I strongly recommend a visit.

We were two couples who travelled up to the Haliburton area for the weekend. We had not heard about Nomi but it looked liked a nice winter offering, so we booked it. The location, friendliness and the cuisine could not have been more pleasing. The accommodation was fine...country rustic but comfortable queen beds, nice rooms and very clean! The open concept of the resort is most pleasing to the eye and you would seem to have the place to yourself, while it was fully booked. There are Spa options with RMT's, sauna etc. They offer Yoga inside and out..in the summer and the 850 Acres of trails, offer extensive x-country. We chose to snow shoe to the lake. Cannot say enough of the good memories we have of Nomi, but none stand out more than the fabulous Cuisine. Some of the best dinners all of us had experienced in a long time. The dinner menu offered about 10 plus options. Those who selected the short ribs were very pleased, I had the Vegetarian Indian ish stirfry with large noodles...which was fabulous and the chicken and the ribs were the best one companion said, that he'd ever had. Breakfast had multiple offerings......but the Eggs Benedict seemed to win out most often.!!! All in all .. Nomi has our Vote for a return visit. May even try the Summer up there at their lake this time!

beautiful property. Went with my husband on a wagjag for a relaxing weekend. Great value! We had dinner there both nights we stayed. It was delicious, I am vegetarian and had many options available they were very accommodating. For my breakfast I asked for no meat and was surprised with a lovely side of avocado and tomato. We rented snow shoes and enjoyed a hike on the property and we each had massages. After dinner we spent time in the lounge where there are many games and a pool table available. There is not a lot around so definitely do research before booking. Could use some updates in the rooms but they are comfortable and clean. one suggestion is more availability for beverages during the day. There is not a large staff so you may have to be patient. Elyse was great and ensured we were happy with our stay.

A little off the beaten path (particularly in the winter) and in need of a little TLC, but an excellent quiet spot with top-notch gourmet food and staff (especially Alice) who aim to make your stay enjoyable. Focusing on wellness, you are greeted in the lobby by soothing sounds and smells. There is a wellness room, infrared sauna, yoga and RMT options. BYOB in the restaurant was a plus as was the menu. Room had a small fridge if you wish to bring snacks or small meals so you don't have to pay for all of your meals. We stayed two nights in a huge suite with wraparound windows looking out onto the forest and the Haliburton Highlands. Snowshoeing was incredible. You can tell the building itself is older and in the process of being renovated. It was a little chilly in places, but overall very pleasant. I would highly recommend visiting NOMI, particularly if you are able to find a WagJag as we did. The value could not be beat.
