Our Bed & Breakfast is a restored Provincial Heritage Property that was built in 1880 for Ferry Captain James Embree. The property is located on the water with a large enclosed patio overlooking the Strait of Canso and conveniently located next to the yacht club/marina, boardwalk, and Granville Green which offers free outdoor concerts on Sunday evenings in July and August. This is a great home base for your Cape Breton vacation featuring the legendary Cabot Trail, Fortress of Louisbourg, Alexander Graham Bell Museum & other attractions. The B&B main house accommodations include 2 guest rooms: one with a queen-size bed, private bath, satellite television, and air conditioning; and one with 2 double beds, private bath and air conditioning. Our motel accommodations include air conditioned guest units with queen size beds, (some also have a double size sofabed), a 4 piece bath, satellite television, fridge, and microwave. Breakfast is included with all rooms and all of our rooms are non-smoking. We offer free off street parking, free wireless internet access and coin operated guest laundry facilities. Sorry no pets are allowed. Visa, Mastercard, Direct Debit and cash are accepted.

Motel room with king bed. Room was very basic but also very clean. Mattress was overly soft. Air conditioner is small window insert type with plywood covering rest of opening and was quite loud. (It was unusually hot during our stay.) The couple running the place are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast room is a separate building with water views. The breakfast is cooked to order and excellent.

I booked a motel room on Booking.com. When we got there (around 5 pm), we were told that we would be across from the house, up a little hill. That was unexpected. It was clean enough, but the decor could use an update: curtains that actually fit the window, bed sheets, glasses - we had two Muppets glasses... The shower is the smallest I have ever seen (and I've been on cruise ships!) Also, the air conditioner is quite loud. My husband enjoyed his eggs and sausages the next morning; I found my eggs a little under-cooked. The owners were very nice people however. In the end, the place was ok, but I would not make a point of staying there again.

A combination of a motel set of rooms and BnB rooms in a large house, the couple running Harbourview are very welcoming and friendly. A fantastic breakfast served in a separate room awaits everyone no matter what part of the property they occupy. Definitely a return visit is merited as the locations allows for lots of good exploring in the area.

We arrived on a cold rainy day. We were greeted by our host and quickly set up in our room. The motel room had been recently remodeled and was extremely clean. The bathroom was spotless. We had breakfast the next morning, and our host was so good with our requests. We sat eating fresh fruit over looking the water. It looks like they are doing a lot of remodeling, good for them!

Room had a huge king bed giving lots of room to spread out. We opted to stay in the motel part rather than the beautiful room in the house so we could have fridge at our disposal. Breakfast was included. Still being off season, we were the only ones in the dining room at our breakfast time. We were treated like royalty and had an amazing Breakfast! Wonderful food including fresh fruit. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would stay again if passing through.
