We stayed in one of the motel rooms. It was large, very clean and comfortable. The location is just a few minutes from the highway but feels much further. The community is beautiful with large trees and quiet streets for walking. Breakfast was excellent and the atmosphere was very welcoming and homey. There was a train that passed by late... More

Place was clean, family staff friendly and breakfast was served on time with good variety. Conveniently located across the Canso causeway and close to the cabot trail. We had a young child and it was not a problem at all.

The location was very nice and the breakfast was better than most. We liked that you could select the time to eat so you weren't crowded. The buffet style breakfast included freshly cut fruit as well as eggs, meats, breads and biscuits. The proprietor was very friendly and he sat with us for a cup of coffee. The bed was... More

This is an old house B&B which has a few motel units (and a good view of Canso Strait) in its yard, but offer motel guests the same home-cooked breakfast as B&B guests. The motel units are new and have modern convenient furnishings. There is a kitchenette unit but no crockery or coffee maker, which would be a nice touch... More

We stayed at Harbourview B & B at the beginning of our Cape Breton visit, for 2 nights.. It was a little surprising to have to go out into the hall..to our private bathroom..but it was clean, bright & ended up not being a problem. John & Sharon are great hosts & spent time visiting with their guests at breakfast..Sharon... More

We stayed in one of their motel rooms as the rooms in the B&B were full. The rooms are basic but very neat and clean. The wifi was easy to log on there too. The hosts' family were in for a visit, so we had great conversations with all of them. We were the only ones at breakfast and loved... More

My adult daughter and I traveled to several places in the Atlantic provinces. It was our first time to the area, so helpful hints from our hosts, Sharon and John, were much appreciated. We ended up staying 3 nights, using this as a base for our sightseeing of Cape Breton. We stayed in the main house, where the room had 2... More

We originally booked at this "top rated" B&B in Port Hawkesbury (Harbourview B&B), only to realize that perhaps it was the top rated of $85 lodgings... we do not recommend this B&B (really, a mobile home unit in a parking lot)! It was dingy, dark, small, no water view, the host was horribly rude. In fact, it was so bad... More

We never stay at b&b's. They have separate motel rooms behind the house and a beautiful view of the water. This is a wonderful little place to stay and the breakfast was home cooked and wonderful. A nice change from the continental breakfasts at the hotels we have been staying at. If I'm ever back in the area I will... More

I came into Port Hawksbury at about 8pm and found this charming B&B to stay at. Sharon and John made my stay very enjoyable with friendly conversation with them and other guests. I slept like a log in the comfortable bed in the main house upstairs, and breakfast was awesome!! I was ready to hit the road refreshed and raring... More
