This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast. Judy and Darryl were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Gagnon house is situated close to the port. An easy walk down the hill. I would recommend staying here.

While this was by far the least expensive of 4 B&B's on our vacation, it was also the most charming! From its hillside perch with views of the Strait of Canso, to its old hardwood floors and rooms with roof lines, every angle of this house was interesting to view. The beds were firm for a great night's sleep. The... More

B & B's are about the people in addition to the accommodations. Daryl and Judy were wonderful hosts. The shared bathroom was no problem. Our bed was comfortable and the house was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. The house is old but lovingly cared for. Parking was a bit dodgy but manageable.

We were arriving late to Cape Breton Island in order to do the Cabot Trail. After a long drive, we were very pleased to discover Gagnon House. It certainly has a lot more character than any of the hotels in Port Hawkesbury. Room was clean. We had our private bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Darrell was a nice host. He gave... More

Judy is a friendly host. Room is cozy and clean. The bathroom is shared with owners and other visitors. Parking is tricky. Free wifi but you have to ask for password. Breakfast was small and delicious; it consisted of orange juice, scrambled eggs, toasts with a little bit of marmalade, fruit garnishes and coffee/tea.

We were traveling back to Halifax from the Cabot Trail and were lucky to find this B&B! Darrell and Judy are lovely people, well traveled and have great stories! The house is very quaint, peaceful and walking distance to restaurants. Breakfast was perfect! Thank you so much and we will be back!

Very kind and hospitable hosts. Comfortable and charming accommodations. Darrell and Judy were very accommodating of my schedule and my privacy. Also thought the breakfasts were just right. Stayed here five nights in total.

Me and my boyfriend stayed one night on our way to Halifax. We stayed in the room on the ground floor. It was not the biggest we ever stayed in but it was comfortable. The owners are very nice people and it is definitely a nice place to stay.

We stayed here two nights - on our way to and from Cape Breton. We stayed in room #1 on the main floor both nights and had an excellent sleep. Though the room may be small compared to some, it had enough space for what we needed. You do have to be comfortable with your partner though! I had to... More

This was the first place we stayed during a 4-day trip to Cape Breton, and it was lovely. Our hosts Judy and Darryl were friendly and informative, our room clean and cozy, and the breakfast fresh and well prepared. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
