My partner and I were very pleased with this bed and breakfast. The house has a very nice exterior appearance and is very clean and tidy inside. The room we stayed in was number 5 and it was spacious, clean and fairly modern. The tv was quite small, however we are not visiting Nova Scotia to watch tv so we... More

The place is OK but has clearly seen better days. For the price I would have expected more. The service by the breakfast lady was excellent and the place was clean but seems to been neglected lately. We would have hoped for better at that price.

Even though the owners were not present when we arrived, everything was prepared and ready for us. A welcome letter was taped to the front door welcoming us and giving us directions to our room. Once we arrived in our room, we actually saw that we were in a very comfortable suite. The bed was comfortable, the layout was great... More

We stayed here one night. We are a family of 4 and we stayed in a room with 2 beds and private washroom. The room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Nice linens. TV is small, size of a laptop. Wifi was fast. Shower had good pressure but I almost got scalded. Temperature was fine for a good 10 minutes and... More

We were supposed to be staying at another B&B, but the owners did not show up for our booking. We started looking online for other acccommodations and found Mackenzie House. We were very lucky. Sandy, the owner, was welcoming and took us in later in the evening. I am not sure where we would have gone if there was no... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this bed and breakfast .We stayed a week and Sandy and Theresa were very hospitable . The location is great if you want to tour Cape Breton . The rooms were equally nice . We liked having direct access from the outside to our room. Breakfast each day was excellent.

We stayed here after an exhausting day doing the Cabott Trail and were very satisfied. There was not a lot on offer in the area and this was a very pleasant experience. Sandy greeted us and was very warm and welcoming, we had room 4 upstairs, wide stairs to get up with luggage to a very spacious room with a... More

We have just spent 1 night here and our room was great Down stairs with a back door so unloading the car was easy. Breakfast in the morning was the best poached eggs we have had this trip. The house was clean and setup to make guests happy. Sandy was a grest host.

We stayed at this B&B in June 2015 and it was just ok. This was one of five B&B that we stayed at during our trip to the Maritimes, we had 2 rooms, the room in the main house was good although the common areas were not as clean and tidy as they could be, the second room that our... More

The owner wasn't home but Sandy left me detailed instructions on the door. I easily found my way.. The room was comfortable and and clean. The house is well kept. Breakfast was very tasty. This proved to be a great starting point for my tour around Cape Breton Island. The owner, Sandy, is friendly and helpful.
