Myself and my husband stayed here 1 night just fancied a quick getaway and some fresh air, we enjoyed our stay and dont know how any one can complain about this pub as it certainly gives value for money, the lady who stayed 3/4 minutes and complained about every thing I suggest she sticks with 5 star hotels at 5...

my wife and I stayed here for 1 night early January 2015. The first thing that is apparent is the friendliness of the owner and his staff, nothing too much trouble and very welcoming. Pub was typical Dales pub with 3 cask ales on the bar and other options. we ate there and the food was good, not fantastic, but...

Good food, good beer - but the coldest pub ever! No fires going...and asthmatic heating...definately not what you want after a cold day out in the dales...I'll save this for summer in the future when its nice to sit outside :)

Hello Mrs Cragg. We were waiting to see how long it took for you to review a place you spent absolutely no time at! We do only have one log fire but in a small bar area one is more than enough. The customers sat infront of it were enjoying it but you can't please everyone. If you want to...

Went here with a friend for a meal on a Monday night so the pub was quiet, only about 4 tables in while we were there. Our main, chicken with bacon feta and chorizo was nice and the puddings were okay when they finally arrived. However, we did have to wait a very long time to receive our puddings. The...

We wanted a night away in a dog friendly hotel. Friendly staff and good value, clean and warm room. Good beer - but what made it for me was the food. It was excellent. I had the steak and ale pie and my wife had the burger. Simple, home-made dishes; made excellent by the care taken to make every item...

Just got back from a short break with my wife - highly recommend this lovely, rustic hotel/restaurant in a stunning part of the country. Cosy, comfortable room, with absolutely amazing food for both dinner and breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff, always willing to offer assistance where needed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - will stay again next time we're in the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a traditional Country Inn located 3/4 of a mile from Ingleton and just 6 miles away from Kirkby Lonsdale. We have 10 guest bedrooms, two of which have four poster beds, one twin bedroom and one family bedroom, the rest are double bedrooms. We are ideally located for the those doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks or visiting the White Scar Caves and Ingleton Waterfalls. All of our food is prepared freshly on site to order and we use locally sourced suppliers. For those Ale drinkers we have 8 Cask Ale hand pulls, which during the busy season we try and have all 8 on. During the quieter months this is not always possible. For those winter months we have two roaring log burning stoves in the bar and for the Summer months we have two lovely beer gardens, one out the front of the hotel looking over St Oswalds Church and one out the back looking over open fields. ... more   less
