We visited the Wheatsheaf after they renovated the kitchen. They looked after us so well. We have a large dog and we were a party of 10. The food was incredible- delicious, filling and so reasonably priced! Fed 10 people for £100! Plus plenty of space for our oversized dog. Coffee was good too served with mint chocolates. Also, shout... More

Having walk the falls with muddy boots and dogs in tow! It has a great warm atmosphere as you walk in. We stayed for lunch. One of our group had a problem with their meal can I say I was most impressed with the way it was delt with. A full refund on the meal and offered to buy the... More

We stayed here two nights while we walked the Yorkshire three peaks challenge. I can't rate the Wheatsheaf highly enough; the beds are soft, the food is delicious and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I've been to the Wheatsheaf three times now and been really impressed with its friendliness and great service.

Suited us as it was within stumbling distance of our holiday let, Marion Cottage. Plenty of choice and a few specials. I had the homemade pie and it was delicious with plenty of veg. My teenagers were happy that halloumi featured on the menu and the homemade chips were lovely. Price was what you'd expect. About £10 for a main... More

Stayed just the one night the weekend of the Folk Festival. We were very lucky to get a cancellation as they had previously been fully booked. Our room was very simply furnished but was spotlessly clean. There were tea and coffee facilities and T.V. The bathroom was quite large with a great shower. We were at the back of the... More

Booked a table for 4 on a Saturday evening in late September. Had to book for 6pm as it was fully booked for later. 3 vegetarians and 1 carnivore all enjoyed the excellent food and friendly service, and us 2 blokes thoroughly enjoyed exploring the wide range of real ales. A place to definitely recommend and re-visit. Also muddy dog... More

What a great place! After a day walking in the Dales, this place was perfect! The staff were brilliant, all very friendly and welcoming and the food was spot on. Loved that the locals also used this pub, rather than just the tourists passing through. It was nice to have a few drinks and some food and listen to the... More

After being told this pub had gone up in the world we decided to try it out but wish we hadn't, the starter was good but after waiting 5 minutes and then having to find our own cutlery it all went down hill from there. The beef Sunday lunch was terrible, the beef was still mooing and was chewy and... More
