Half living in the village, I often go to the pub for dinner when family/ friends are staying with me. It's a very friendly pub frequented by families, locals, walkers, day trippers, my guests and more importantly than anything, my dogs! I have never had a bad meal here. The service is often provides by locals and is warm and...

Arrived at the pub a little early and rooms were still being prepared. Had a very nice light lunch and pint of cask ale. Booked two rooms, one to include a dog. The superior double was in newer accommodation at the side and was large and very clean. The double which allowed dogs was in the older, front part and...

We came here to meet friends for a meal and stayed over too. It would be perfect with a few tweaks but it would have been mean not to give full points as it was great value, good food and the service was with a smile. Our room was clean although fairly basic, but you can't complain for the price....

We stayed in the annex which was perfect especially as we had our dog with us. Well furnished, warm and comfortable and had a really great weekend. It was made extra special by lovely members of a Welsh choir who were also staying at the Wheatsheaf. You couldn't have put a price tag on the experience! The breakfast was cooked...

Just spent a fabulous long weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was spotlessly clean, started each day with a tasty full English breakfast, and sampled the main menu twice. The food was freshly cooked, large portions and very tasty - all served with a smile from the lovely staff. Just wish we could have stayed longer !!
