I have a bit of catching up to do here .... having had superb meals here a couple of times last year plus another a couple in September, whilst staying nearby. Then we made it for a quick stay at the beginning of November. We stayed in the annex - which was warm and cosy. The Wheatsheaf is always welcoming...

Stayed for two nights on a deal. Great value. Room was lovely with a four poster very very comfortable bed and great pillows. Room a little small. Bar food very good value with huge portions - breakfast also large. Cosy coal fires and friendly local staff. Below view from our bedroom.

Good location for exploring Wensleydale with Aysgarth Falls a short footpath walk away. Slightly quirky comfortable room in old village pub. Friendly bar with a mix of locals and visitors, good pub food and breakfast at reasonable prices. Interesting history with details of vet author James Herriot's stay on his honeymoon in 1941.

Could not fault the place, staff very friendly, nice clean room, good dinner and breakfast. Very homely. Log burner in lounge, very relaxing, and open fire in bar.Only downside for us it was too isolated, but for a peaceful break we would highly recommend.

First holiday in Yorkshire dales, with staying just down the road, this was ideal to relax and have a great value but home-cooked fantastic food, this pub is a real homely pub with an open fire (with a cold snowy day), with only staying Monday to Thursday me and my husband were able to go two nights. Highly recommend to...
