This was the first time I had visited Wensleydale and went with three friends. The welcome was super, some of the friendliest, obliging people I have ever met, nothing was too much trouble. The room was fine, bed comfortable and food was good, both breakfast and evening meal. We were able to relax after our evening meal in the bar area and at no time felt... More

We had a great stay whilst attending a wedding at Bolton Castle - great staff and superb location for walks around the local waterfalls! The breakfast was superb and the staff were very nice and helpful, would highly recommend.

As there were three of us, we were given the annexe around the back of the hotel, which had a bedroom, a sitting room with sofa bed, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. It felt like we had our own little cottage. It was a shame we were only staying for one night on our way from Scotland down to Stroud.... More

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf for 5 nights and had a lovely time. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts were brilliant. The menu for evening meals was very good, and the food was brilliant. Congratulations to the staff who worked very hard as a team, and made our stay enjoyable. We will definitely return.

A measure of the good things in any area of the service industry is the ability to react when something goes wrong. We spent three nights at the Wheatsheaf in room 9 July 9th onwards. We had an incident on the first night that was dealt with very professionally by both Claire and Emily and needs no further comment. Things... More
