Thought we'd give a try as haven't been for years but wish we hadn't. The food was very poor two of our party had the roast beef which was at best ok meat wise but the potatoes were as though warmed up and stodgy . One of the party had steak , medium well done but was very rare and... More

What a place we visited friday night and had such a great evening. The staff were very informative i couldnt resist when the gentleman serving us suggested the sticky toffee pud for dessert... its really cosy and offers a great selection of dishes. We will definitely be back in the next few weeks to sample their frizz fish and chip... More

Set in a tranquil location amid green, rolling hills, sheep and cows, the Alma Inn is a high-end pub with similarly high-end rooms. Our room was comfortable and very reasonably priced. The cooked breakfast - which you'd pay at least £10 for in isolation - comes with the room and makes the very reasonable room rates seem even more reasonable.... More

My husband and I went for a few drinks last weekend and we were a bit disgusted that a dog ... Black and looked like a Fench Bull Dog was allowed to sit on a bar stool at the bar!!! We had our dog with us but would not have dreamed of allowing her to sit on customers seats!!! Nothing... More

Four of us ate here late afternoon on Wednesday. We had never been before and now realise what we have been missing. It entered our radar as it became a Seafood Pub establishment - its certainly up there with the best. Fantastic location, beautiful decor (in a variety of discrete areas), very good service, menu reasonable with some interesting choices,... More

4 of us dined here. Meals were expensive, small and of poor quality. Some of it looked as if it had been kept warm for hours and the parsnips were inedibly rubbery. A single slice of pork, 50% fat, is not a sunday roast! Puddings again small and far too expensive. The creme brulee is a joke. On the only... More

Whilst the food was ok, service was not. The waitress was rude and when I told her manager she kicked off and walked away. But said she's "good at customer service" I beg to differ. After years of eating here I was bitterly disappointed. A sign of how downhill it's gone was clear by how quiet it was.disappointing.

We had visited the alma inn in June when we spent a week in the Yorkshire dales. We were looking for somewhere to eat and came across the alma inn. We had a fabulous meal and returned on a further occasion and had another excellent meal. We have had the opportunity to return to that area and decided to stay... More
