arriving at the alma we were greeted by zoe in a friendly but professional manner and shown to our table , the inn is decorated to match what one would think of as a traditional country pub, The garden room is light and airy while the lounge room gives the appearance of a traditional 17th century coaching inn with lovely... We had our wedding on 26th August and a big thank you to everyone for making it a wonderful day. From planning right through to the wedding day the staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely and service was excellent. Everyone commented how much they enjoyed the day and the venue. Also the rooms were lovely. Great... More

Possibly the worst venue I have had the unfortunate experience for a wedding reception. It no doubt is fine if you can find the venue for a "pub lunch" but absolutely nothing else. The conservatory is for too small for a wedding reception, the acoustics are dreadful l If you are unfortunately situated by the kitchen area the noise of... More

What a fab place!!!! Needed somewhere to stay in the area and this is where the locals recommended (they should know where is best). I wasn't disappointed. We were met by very friendly staff and were shown to a very clean, comfortable room. We ate in the restaurant where the food was superb. After a good nights sleep in a very... More

If you are wanting excellent food with atrocious service look no further. Having previously experienced slow service whilst hosting an American visitor and hearing of other people's bad experiences here, I persuaded my family to give it another try. For a party of six people, our order was taken after 25 minutes wait. Whilst a respite between courses is usually... More

Wonderful bar, fantastic and tonic at the bar. Can't fault the food and the waiters and waitresses very attentive. Stayed in a lovely room, spotless and everything we needed was in the room. Totally recommend the Alma Inn.

Went to the Alma for our annual business meeting (9 in total). We found the food to be poor and expensive. I ordered prawns for my starter and was given four which were like rubber, at nearly £9.00, a total rip off! My steak pie was a piece of fillet with pastry round. I was expecting steak and some gravy... More

This oldvinn is in the middle of nowhere. But is worth the journey. The food was fabulous. I will be there for a wedding on three weeks and the grounds, views and indoor decoration are great. I will submit photos after the event

As a belated 23rd anniversary treat we wanted a bit of luxury and some nice food. Recommended by a friend we booked in. The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you, the room was clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a double Jacuzzi bath! The food was superb with excellent choice. Just lovely and... More
