There is so much that's good about this place, but it is let down badly by the things that are bad. Stayed overnight. Very friendly welcome. Decided to have a drink in the bar. Bar prices were very reasonable which was a surprise. Lovely decor, friendly bar staff. Looked at the menus and was delighted to find a really affordable... More

Decided to give it another try - food improved- much better- service not bad- but no smiles from the staff- still a little dour - no real parking nearby- pleasant enough inside.nothing more to say really- don't know if we will go again if in the area- but will see.

We stayed here after the the bride and groom recommend this hotel, this is a lovely little hotel and the cost is reasonable. The breakfast was great and you could have as much as you like. If your looking for a nice, cosy place to say please have a look at the White Hart. The Staff are also great and... More

My first impression of the hotel is that it is a stunning 16th Century building that has much British historical character to it. Original flooring, low ceilings, wooden beams, original fireplaces and cellars. The rooms themselves have high ceilings, en suit shower and toilet, Freeview TV, WIFI, great, freshly-cooked food, great prices throughout. It is very quiet in the evening,... More

lovely little b and b, rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Th staff are very friendly and accommodating. Dinner in the restaurant was quite nice but the breakfast however left a lot to be desired, the service was slow and the food wasn't to a great standard. Ap[art from breakfast the only downside was i found the bed quite uncomfortable... More

I stayed here on Friday and Saturday night as I was attending a local wedding. While the hotel is very nice, I feel that attention to detail is lacking contributing to my feeling somewhat dissatisfied. The main light in the room was not working. It did not have any coathangers and nor did the bedroom or bathroom have any hooks.... More

stayed here for 1 night. Great accommodation with quality fittings and attention to detail. Food excellent service excellent. All staff efficient and Tony the manager is excellent at his job! Bed was okay - not great but that's often a personal opinion - pillows though could be better quality (very thin). However would not hesitate to stay again. Breakfast very... More

I love Coggeshall and come here often for its history. The Essex Way runs right through the middle of the town and so I sometimes want to stay the night and enjoy its charms. The White Hart is a decent sized pub with good Pub food and, if you are happy to pay a little more, then the double bedrooms... More

This quaint little english pub and bed and breakfast. Alot of history in the house which is evident throughout. Staff were friendly however the place lacked a warm welcoming atmosphere. Having said that the rooms are clean and very comfortable beds but the shower and bathroom desperately needed updating. The pießt la resistance was the breakfast which was excellent really... More

A beautiful location in the heart of the historic English market town of Great Coggeshall, The White Hart is a history lover's delight. Coggeshall enjoys a location nearby to other northern Essex cities such as the ancient Roman town of Colchester, Witham, Braintree, Great Tey, Earls Colne, Ipswich, Kelvedon, and Chelmsford. I must admit a positive bias to the Hotel... More
