For our wedding anniversary, we decided to return to the White Hart where we had previously spent Christmas 2015. We were lucky this time to be upgraded to room 1 or the Bridal Suite or the old Guild room - everyone had a different name for it.But it was a magnificent room with a great fireplace and old beams and...

I stayed for a weekend at this hotel. It's location is excellent for the North East of Essex. It is within a prosperous small town/large village with excellent amenities for a walk with some interesting shops. A majority of the village is built of timber framed houses with wattle and daub infill. The Hotel is of this construction which makes...

Great building, done up on the cheap (typical Green King) never enough staff! What staff there is, over worked and stressed.. Always things missing from menu and drinks not available due to "no delivery from Green King" Really wished this place was owned by someone who knew how to run it, could be great

When we arrived we sat at the bar to order the food to be told by the bar woman that it did not open until 11am and to sit in the restaurant. The...

Booked a one night's stay in a superior room, we were lucky enough to get upgraded to their "bridal suite", which was an amazing room with high vaulted and beamed ceiling. It was immaculately presented and clean, as was the beautiful ensuite bathroom. The bed was enormous and lovely and comfortable. Ate in the bar area (our choice) as the...

We stayed 3 nights over Christmas and the experience was first rate. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and attentive throughout. This is a wonderful building, and it was a shame that not all the guests appreciated its unique charm. I work with historic buildings and have considerable experience of hotels, not just in the UK....

Booked a one night break with Old English Inns and chose White Hart because the reviews were fair and we had been a few years ago. There was four of us oldies and we had a good time. The food was of a good standard normal selection of beers and wine, the entertainment was a disco which started after the meal. Most...
