My Wife and I and our two dogs spent New Year at the Acorn Inn and had an absolutely wonderful time. Not only is it a beautiful hotel in a lovely village with great walks but I don't think I have ever been to a more dog friendly hotel in my life. Absolutely all of the staff were a delight...

Stayed for a night in this old Inn. Rooms a bit tight, especially with a ruddy great tutor four poster in it! Has a pub side and a hotel side. Food and drink excellent in both. Had the back barn open to watch the rugby on big screen which was good, especially because it did not impinge. Very quirky and...

As always a yummy Sunday lunch! Such friendly staff who were so accommodating with my one year old and they squeezed us in despite our last minute booking! Food came out fast followed by deserts including DELICIOUS sticky toffee pudding!

Booked here for New Year Day Lunch with family who were visiting. Warm Welcome on arrival, shown to table which was nicely situated and spaced. Good choice of Menu shown both A La Carte and Bar Menu together with Wine List. The four of us chose different starters which were superb. Two of us opted for the beef as a...

A group of us stayed over New year with 5 dogs. We had the most amazing time. The staff were very attentive without being over the top. The only issues I had in the room the shower didn't really have any power apart from that the room was lovely although a little small and we did upgrade. The menu needed...

We were fortunate and booked relatively late for a stay at the Acorn over the New Year, later finding that on the same day they had received a cancellation otherwise the accommodation had been booked months in advance. We were extremely fortunate. The best feature of this place is the welcome that is given on arrival and the fact that...

We were delighted with our stay at the Acorn. Parking easy, log fires at every turn, traditional cosy room with huge bed but modern bathroom (Kings Hintock) and delightful staff. The best part of the experience however was the food; it was absolutely divine; one of the best set of meals we have ever had. The hotel is relatively central...

We were looking for a dog friendly hotel/pub with with rooms and we found the Acorn Inn via dog friendly website. The Inn is located in a very historic village in the centre of Thomas Hardy countryside. On arrival we were met by front of house staff, shown round all public rooms and areas and then our room (kingsbere). Room...

Dear JimH We really appreciate your very kind review. Our hard working chefs are always very pleased to get the food mentioned in reviews so they are all smiling! I am pleased you enjoyed the whiskies we have been collecting for the past 8 years – a labour of love on my part. We would love to see you again...

Booked the Acorn Inn for dinner while staying at Summer Lodge. We were immediately shown to a cosy sitting room with open fire roaring and drinks were brought in. This is definitely not a pub which we had thought but that did not matter on this occasion. We all agreed the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend the beef 3...
