We chose to stay here because they are part of the Red Carnation Chain which we usually use in London. This was nothing like a standard of what we would expect from a Red Carnation accomodation. The welcome we received was obviously from the owner, who was very casually dressed and did not make us feel welcome, it didn't help... More

Dear MorgieNorthants Thanks so much for taking the time to writing a review. We are delighted that you found the Acorn to be spotlessly clean and that you enjoyed the food so much. I would, however, like to take this opportunity to correct a few misconceptions you might have about the Acorn Inn. We are primarily a family owned and... More

We were staying at Summer Lodge and decided that we would have dinner in the Pub at the Acorn Inn. The bar staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and we were amazed when they had a Gluten Free AND Dairy Free Menu. For people with serious food allergies this made a huge difference to the whole meal. The pub has... More

Stayed for two nights with our two retrievers. Warm welcome and great service throughout. Enjoyed the five meals we had there, would certainly go back. The room was compact but big enough for the four of us.

Ve stayed for 2 nights in a superior double and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was quite small but very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with a very good shower. We stayed on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis so had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. The breakfasts were great with homemade muesli, delicious flaky croissants and... More

Great service, food and drinks. Excellent location, with some lovely short, medium and longer walk options in the countryside. Very handy to be able to use the spa at the nearby hotel. Highly recommended.

A brilliant place for a night away. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here in a 4 poster room. Meal was excellent in the restaurant and was good value. We booked D,B&B. Room was smallish but very nice, bay window ensuite shower and a lovely 4 poster. Great place to chillout after a day on the coast, a couple of late... More

My wife and I stayed at the Acorn Inn as a birthday surprise . The Inn has historic connections to Thomas Hardy . What was at one time the village inn has now become a restaurant. The food and service were excellent with a wide variety of dishes to suit most tastes. There was also a good breakfast selection. The... More

Had a one night stay here on the way to Cornwall. Fabulous stay with great food and wonderful service. Unique building steeped in history and completely enchanting! Each room is decorated differently and with its own character. Parking is easy. Would definitely return.

Wow, this place is good. We booked a table for 13:30 Sunday 7th August. We parked at the pub around 11am and went on a walk that we had found in the Dorset Life Magazine, it was a 6.5 mile walk and we thought we would comfortably do it in 2 hours but it took a little longer and we... More
