Was recommended this hotel and when I looked at the website some of the decor did look rather dated. However, we were able to book a one night stay on a Friday which many other hotels would not do so we went ahead and were definitely not disappointed. When you are actually there, the decor is so in keeping with...

Summer Lodge was a surprising find. It is well priced compared with other spa hotels which made my expectations lower. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The building includes some high character bedrooms, a beautiful old lounge and bar. the gardens are spectacular - well looked after and had some colour even in wet november. The village is...

Beautiful faultless cuisine and superb service. The banana souffle was one of the most gorgeous sweets I have ever indulged in-divine decadence! All the food and drink had an attention to detail that made it well worth the prices.

Just an overnight stay at this hotel. Cannot sing the praises of this hotel enough, From the moment of our arrival the concierge was there to welcome us. The surroundings, accommodation and staff was superb. The staff were so attentive and all of them served us with a smile. The food at this hotel is outstanding. Will definitely return again...

We spent one night at Summer Lodge as part of a Secret Escapes Deal. Our stay included a superior room with 3 course dinner. Our room was number 26 which was in the annex, a short walk from the main building through a lovely garden. First thing to say is the staff, bar none, were exceptional. Attentive without being overbearing...

We arrived early the room wasn't ready so we went and used the pool, hot tub and sauna and a member of staff let us know when the room was ready for us to check in. We ordered room service. The choice was not great but after speaking to staff they made us something else which was perfect. The room...

Stayed for two nights in a superior king bedroom only to find out I had been allocated a classic double very quickly remedied (moved from room 4 to 5) by a very apologetic receptionist which shows the professionalism of all the staff. rooms are well appointed and luxurious ,food in restaurant is to die for if a little stuffy much...

I won't overwhelm you with superlatives, but this place is amazing. Well maintained grounds, ultra-clean and comfortable rooms, friendly and efficient (but not over-familiar) staff and a top-class restaurant. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Pool and surrounds was clean and pleasant to use. Dogs are restricted to certain rooms, but ours was made very welcome.

Lovely pampered stay in beautiful location. The hotel was cosy and traditional and the food was truly magnificent. The staff were welcoming and friendly and we had a really lovely relaxing weekend. We are already planning our next visit.

As invited guests we had the most memorable (for all the very best reasons!) dinner here. As mentioned elsewhere the staff are quite outstanding - friendly, knowledgeable and most helpful and attentive. The food was equally outstanding. We had the Portland Crab salad to start and the roast loin of Dorset Lamb to follow. The wine cellar is very extensive....
