Great views across the harbour mean you pay slightly more for pub food but it is tasty nonetheless. When chips come with the meal the portion size could be a bit bigger. Bar staff were really friendly and there were enough people on so didn't have to queue for ages even though it was busy.

Stopped here just for drinks. Only visiting for two hours. Staff very friendly & helpful. Food other people had looked amazing. Real ale beers very good choice. Excellent views of the harbour outside. Hard to believe this area was devastated by storms in the 90s An excellent job of renovation. Rick Stein restaurant overlooking harbour but we had no time... This place serves standard 'pub grub' but they do it very well. My daughter enjoyed her steak and my carvery was perfect - a couple sat at the table next to us with just drinks, but they soon decided to order food when they saw the quality we were served. Staff were really friendly and very helpful, we arrived 30... More

Great location in the middle of Porthleven. Lovely room apart from the window that shook all night which was probably down to the wind. Breakfast was a bit manic with nobody knowing exactly what was going on, but food was ok. Lovely beer garden on the harbour...

This is a good pub transformed into a cosy comfortable hotel right in the heart of the old fishing village of Portleven. We made a one night visit and everything worked out perfectly. We had our evening meal , which was very nice , on the outside restaurant area(right by the harbour side) listening to the local brass band. The staff... More

Clearly popular, a real buzz about the place, continental feel sitting outside on a summer evening. Food is average pub grub, service speedy. Staff do need to be more on top of clearing tables outside, hence 3 stars. Never yet sat down to a clean outside table. Also, if tables are not cleared seagulls will attempt the job making for... I came here for the first time back in May after a recommendation from my dad who made the bold claim that it's the best carvery ever. After sitting outside overlooking the harbour with a drink we ventured inside to put this claim to the test. I was not disappointed the food was amazing and plenty of it! A choice... More

We stayed for two nights, Saturday and Sunday in August. Our room was 'Predannack' with a stunning view of the harbour. I feel it was well worth the extra cost to have the view. The room is big enough to have 2 comfortable chairs in the bay window over looking the harbour. Comfortable bed and no noise from the bar,... More

Bad decision to dine here under time pressure. Food was worse than average. Greasy fish and ham out of packet. Staff were so unhelpful and clearly not interested. Asked at the bar about which ale to try and response was 'I don't know, I don't drink!' Really helpful. Maybe find someone that does or find out yourself. My advice if... More

Great location overlooking the harbour. Definitely worth paying for harbour-views, especially if you are lucky enough to have one with bay window seating. Tastefully decorated rooms, good locally-sourced toiletries and hospitality tray. Very friendly, helpful and hard-working staff. Good breakfasts. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break.
