The hotel is located in an old, well preserved, authentic and cozy building. It is very close to the city center. However the hotel manager has weak communication skills and makes it cheerless and unmeaningful to stay. I do not recommend this hotel, full stop.

This place was just a perfect little gem! I just finished presenting at a conference in Istanbul and decided to take a day trip to the island. By the time I arrived it was too late and I was exhausted, so I took a carriage and by chance happened upon this place. The owner Ismail was very hospitable. His wife...

Romantic hotel with a family atmosphere. There's not much to do on the island itself, but the hotel rather fits into the slow and relaxing tempo of your stay on the island. In a good way. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Meziki Hotel is a cosy, romantic hotel with a family feel... wonderful view of Instanbul and the sea... The room is clean with excellent service! The hotel is also within walking distance to the town yet peaceful from the crowds. We had such an enjoyable stay at Meziki Hotel... we will recommend Meziki Hotel to anyone anytime!!!

A beautiful and authentic hotel as an Italianate villa. Wonderful service, and local knowledge. Such a romantic hotel to stay. The quiet location is magical, with the rhythmic sound of the clip-cloppy horse drawn carriages. An hotel you only normally see in movies, so charming.

I am about to leave the hotel after a 2 nights stay. Ismail and the whole team were very friendly and the hotel itself is a great experience with its historic feel. The place has a historic feel to it and is very convenient for the type of stay on the island.

This is a beautiful hotel with nostalgic decorations. The rooms are amazing and some of them have a great sea view. It's a clean place. They have breakfast service and a café and a restaurant and everything is delicious but personally, I would rather enjoy a meal with at a restaurant near the sea. I would definitely recommend it. Even it was raining a lot, it was a pleasure to stay in the hotel and just reading a book. It is charming that all the rooms are different in size and decoration. The charm of an old mansion. It is going back in time. If you want a big room with kingsize beds etc. don"t go there, but if...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located at Istanbul Buyukada, Malul Gazi Avenue, this mansion was constructed in the second half of the XIXth century. Owned by Levantines, the property of Meziki Mansion was passed on to first Sahbaz family at the beginning of XXth century and then to Karayan family.Remained until today in a quite well-kept condition, this building is located slightly away from the avenue and has three floors plus a penthouse. The exterior appearance of this masonry mansion is massive and has a rectangular plan. Similar to Italian Architecture, imperial and neo-renaissance styles are observed on facades of the mansion. Its front facade is enlivened with drop arch sectional windows. There are balconies at the front facade of the mansion both on first and second floors. The entrance from the ground floor is surrounded by narrow and long windows at both sides. There are moldings between the floors, and eclectic decors are found in the interiors. And in some parts, floral and herbal motifs and landscape are observed. As the Meziki mansion is a first-class historical building, it is included in the list of cultural properties to be protected. The decoration of our rooms is made with furniture of that period remaining loyal to the original texture of the rooms.Having totally 12 rooms, our mansion was used as location of a TV drama series "Dudaktan Kalbe (From the Lips to the Heart)" broadcasted for a while on television, and also many other commercial films, whereby it has impressed many visitors throughout the world. Our rooms have private bathrooms and toilets .standart room shared bathroom and toilet. Our rooms located at the front facade have a sea view while the rooms located at the back facade have a garden view. ... more   less

“The front of the hotel has rooms overlooking the street, which is quiet and provides a bit of a sea view. The rear rooms overlook the enclosed garden. I would choose the front, as the view is lovely and there is a small shared balcony with a table, perfect for a glass of wine in the evenings.”
