Advertised as 5* hotel but definitely not in our opinion. good 3* yes. 👍🏻 Yes i am angry 4k all inclusive holiday down the pan!!!! after the best part of 12 hours travelling. We arrived at the hotel about noon. Was greeted at the reception and told check in isn’t until 16:00 so will have to wait. We dropped our bags in a closet and sat outside. The 4 kids were starving and were looking forward to lunch. As we were all inclusive, when the restaurant opened for lunch we headed over, but was met by a brusk member of staff telling us we couldn’t use the restaurant as we had not yet booked in. Back to reception…he was correct we cant use the facilities until after we had booked in. apparently we were told before leaving uk.!! However we were given bands to allow us to have snacks at the pool bar…off we tootle to the pool bar to get something for lunch. OMG what greeted us was the remains from the morning’s offerings picked by the birds! a single hot dog sausage a couple bits of beacon that were almost unrecognisable , something orange in a pan and some nasty pastry’s that had been out for hours. Disgusting dry wizened up poor excuse. Needless to say we didn’t eat. Being diabetic i have to plan for the just incase…..some biscuits are always in my stash. But the hotel didn’t care about my illness or disability. Shame on you 16:00 we got our room, we went back in time to the 80s nothing like the pictures in the brochures…think they missed this room when renovating. I needed to feed us all so we got changed and went to the local restaurant (They told us that loads of people from MGM are saying the same thing about the food) Day 1 disaster cant go home so its of to bed.. Day 2 apart from the person on the sofa we were eaten alive, from the pictures they were not from mosquito. Definitely not worth the £4000 i spent out on this dump!! we only went in the restaurant 3 times in a week and waisted more stuff than we consumed. Blew a further 1000€ eating out all week 😡

Dear Rofpmsl, First of all we want to apologize to you for not having exceeded your expectations and the inconveniences that it has produced. Our Check in policy is duly informed, as well as the use of services and facilities, we feel that it was not to your liking. We take note of your comment of our snack, although tell you that, both in meals and the snack itself has a great variety and usually good comments about them. Regarding mosquitoes, comment that we are in a tropical area, with humidity and there are usually mosquitoes. We reiterate our apologies and take note to review the points made. Regards.

Javier on reception was excellent during the night shift. Whatever the issue, he would try his best to deal with it immediately. He was like our Spiderman. He always smiled and showed empathy. Vanessa on reception was very knowledgeable and provided all the information. Javier and Vanessa had excellent customer service , time and patience with any of the hotel guests.

We arrived very early and although we were allowed to go to our room (this was upgraded to a suite, free of charge), as the check in wasn't until 4pm, we couldn't use the dining room. However, we were given temporary wrist bands so that we could grab some snacks and drinks from the poolside bar (this included the alcoholic drinks). The suite we had was huge; a large living room, large bedroom, large bathroom (with a full sized bath) and a fully stocked kitchen. There was everything there that you'd need if you were to go self catering. It also had a large balcony with a table and four chairs and a full sized drying rack. The air con was lovely and we even left our key card in so that it was cool when we returned; we thought it would've been removed when the cleaner came but it wasn't. You could hire towels, for a 25 euro per towel refundable deposit (you were given a ticket which you exchanged for a towel each day with the pool guy). The food was absolutely amazing. I'm a vegetarian and had plenty of options to choose from; the only negative was that the pool side sandwiches/rolls always had meat in them (Management - maybe offer some just cheese ones too). The staff are so helpful; nothing is too much trouble for them; from booking taxis for you, to letting you use the phone to check on transfers and also allowing you to print out things - all free of charge. I asked for an iron and ironing board and this was brought up to me and left for me for the remainder of our stay. There was everything there that you'd need if you were to go self catering. I imagine that the cleaning wasn't to some people's taste... We had to leave the 'please do my room' hanger on the door after a few days as they hadn't been; sure enough they did the room. If you wanted your room doing more, the hotel would allow this, I'm certain. They sent up more shampoo when we ran out and towels on our arrival (as there weren't any) within minutes of calling reception for them. There were 2 pools and a paddling pool for the kids. The water was lovely and refreshing, not too cold. It was kept clean. There were plenty of sunbeds and parasols and the pool guy was happy to help you find a bed or parasol. The hotel would do well to supply portable parasols too, for people to use who couldn't get a bed with a fixed parasol. On the last day our flight wasn't until late at night so we could only have breakfast, as check out is 12 and lunch isn't until 1pm. Again, we were given a voucher so that we could use the poolside bar for snacks and drinks. We were also allowed to use a courtesy room (another suite) free of charge but you can (if they don't have too many guests staying) pay the extra to keep your room (I think it was 25 euros). The hotel is listed as 5 star and there are lots to suggest it is but personally I would say it was 4 - 4.5 star. It's just a little dated; the furniture in the suite is very old looking - maybe a lick of paint would improve the look. We met some lovely people there; one couple who'd been 3 times before. They raved about the place. The staff seemed to remember them too. The staff can't do enough for you. They certainly work hard for their money. The Piano Bar in the evening only had one bar man working and he was run off his feet. The entertainment guys were there morning, noon and night time too! They were keen to get everyone involved in the activities but weren't pushy. A special shout out to Enrique and Graziano (sorry if I spelled these wrong) who were always smiling. As is typical on an AI holiday, the drinks aren't very strong. For me this was perfect. Please note that 16 and 17 year olds are given a wrist band as per an adult. I'm not one for going back to the same hotel/country as there are so many places in the world to choose from but given the right deal I would certainly return here and can highly recommend The Grand Muthu Golf Plaza Hotel and Spa.

Just returned today from this amazing hotel. We are a family of 4 - 2 adults 16yr old & 15yr old. On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely receptionist and nothing was any trouble for her check in was quick and east then shown to our room which was room 110 it was beautiful lovely 1 bedroom and sitting room with sofa beds for the kids. Ideal wee kitchen and nice bathroom. Beautiful corner balcony too. It was my sons birthday while there and reception arranged my son to get a chocolate cake brought out go him. It was so kind of her to do this. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - food was always very good and always something for us to eat. The serving staff and chefs were so so nice and always pleasant. Bar staff were so nice too they even knew our drinks after a few nights there. Pool is lovely and clean. You can hire towels not sure of price. Entertainment staff are so nice and you can tell they love there job. Only thing I would say is management need to give them more of a budget for evening entertainment. Few things…. Hotel is stunning and we will be back It’s about €22 euros in taxi to Siam park €25 euros to las America and los cristianos There is a bus but it costs you and u need to get 2 buses to Siam park and las America Transfer from airport to hotel. 17 mins. There is a nice Irish bar beside hotel. We supermarket across from Irish bar it’s reasonably priced. Shop in hotel dearer. There is also a restaurant we went to called St Andrews this is lovely and not dear at all. Truly amazing and I’d say it was a 5 star hotel. Thank you all once again xx

We arrived to so called 5 or now 4 * Hotel towardsend of July. Having stayed in a 4*hotel we were usually welcomed ith a Glass of winę or champagne, however not in GMH Hall and reception were very nice however rooms were not so wow. We stayed in room 137 .soon after arrival it appeared that we had little ants crawling everywhere in the bedroom. When reported to the reception I was only offered an insect spray. I have requested a different room in another part of the hotel ,however was told I need to pay €15 extra a night. The same day the halogen light and part of the ceiling in bathroom fell off. This was still not a reason for a free upgrade.we were only able to switch rooms (just few away) staff were very nice, they were working very hard and deserve a medal.sadly looks like hotel bosses are saving on staff hence they were running like chickens. Rooms cleaned every other day .No even sheets changed. Room was not done until 6pm.We came back at 6 from pool and had no towels as they were still in the bath (waiting for a cleaner) Pool area clean and tidy. No fight for beds ,which wasn't surprising as hotel was even half full. Entertainment-again the entertainment guy was doing his best however again working solo, hence not great. The entertainment room and piano bar was in a hall with No windows. The tablet arranged as if in Cinema in również.Not very socialising .First time we had No sittings outside .it was a bit were and definately made evenings boring and not in holiday mood. Food was nice however again same selection everyday. First time in years no different theme nights. Children's food was fries and pizza everyday. Once there were chicken nuggets and once or twice pasta. If you have fussy eaters -your kids might be hungry. No creps ,no fish fingers,no plain vegetables. The plus thing was fresh selection of meat and fish done on wait. Overall it was OK however I am glad we only booked a week not 2 as usually. Definately not a 4* hotel. I would rate it max 3 *

Dear Pappilon 4 adults, Thank you for sharing your experience in our Hotel, while I apologize if we did not meet the expectations you expected in our Hotel. We are sorry for the inconveniences and as you mention the team always set out to help you and also comment that the ants issue is something punctual, since it is not something that always happens. We take good note of your comments and I take this opportunity to comment that we do not skimp on having staff and as for the food, which I will discuss well with the Chef, it is one of the points that our Guests value best. We reiterate our apologies, we take note to continue improving and it would be a pleasure for us to receive you again, it will be a pleasure to assist you. Regards.

What a fantastic holiday we had the staff couldn’t do enough for us they where very friendly. The hotel was so clean you could always see cleaners around all the time. We had the grand junior suite it was fabulous so big beds were comfortable and so clean. We had sun beds on the balcony with a big round table and chairs at the end . The bathroom was lovely with jacuzzi bath. Food was ok you would never starve there but did get a bit repetitive especially the dessert jelly and a topping or some sort of cake thing. The entertainment was ok during the day around the pools with games for everyone if you wanted to join in but the evening was a bit of a washout they did try but not enough people in the room to do much

We are already missing this lovely hotel the staff really make this hotel an experience to remember. We are a gay couple who were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary there and the staff went out of their way to make it best 2 weeks ever . Vanessa kindly upgraded us to a seaviews room on arrival and Manuel popped up to our room with a bottle of cava a really lovely touch. The food was excellent always really good quality food ignore any other reviews the food on offer for breakfast lunch and dinner was good quality and plenty of it. We would personally like to thank Alfonse the hotel manager Vanessa on reception. Manuel bar and restaurant. Lola and Enrique and Juan who were so kind and a real credit to the hotel and a huge big thankyou to Miguel and Graziana the entertainment managers for working so hard each and every day making our whole holiday so Very special we are going to book to come back in January 2023 for another 2 week stay only 5 months away and counting. Mark and John Berry . Xxxxxxx

We recently stayed for a 3 night all-inclusive short break. Unfortunately the overall feeling for this hotel is disappointing. The good points: - The staff were all lovely and helpful and they are a credit to the hotel. - it was clean throughout - The size of the room given to us was exceptional. The room had a kitchen, full sized living room, large bedroom and bathroom and a good sized balcony. I’ve seen flats smaller than the room we had. - The all inclusive drinks selection were decent and tasted good (except the sangria). It was good that they served the major brands of soft drinks. Amstel was the beer offered and it was fine. - There was plenty of sun beds available. The not so good points: - The beds were not great. Booked a double and had two singles that didn’t even zip together. The beds were very firm, to the point that It was uncomfortable. - There is a brochure in the room that hilariously shows pictures of what the rooms at the hotel should look like. Either I got unlucky, or we were transported to the 1980s as the furniture in the room was something else. - There was a bad smell of rotten eggs when opening the balcony - The food, sadly, was appalling. The food consisted of 8/10 hot dishes, cold section, a grill selection where a chef cooks the meat/fish, chips, pizza, breads and a salad bar. In theory, this sounds fantastic but the quality of the food was so, so poor. The meats were tough, the hot selection was the sort of meals that arrive pre-packed and put in the oven. High salt, no flavour meals that also rather bizarrely contained meat with bones in it. I’m not saying that all food should be boneless, but it doesn’t make sense in a pasta dish. The problem also seemed to be that they were preparing way too much food for the amount of people they had staying. There was never more than 25 people in the restaurant, but there was so much out. This caused the hot food to burn on the hot plates and put the final nail in the coffin for what was a miserable culinary experience overall. I’m not going into detail about the breakfast, but blimey it was horrific. The hotel has to address this. I think personally it needs to cut half of its selection and replace it with better ingredients and have some TLC in the food preparation. *Points to note but not marked in the review:* - The hotel is in the flight path of the airport so was occasionally noisy but nothing they can do about that. - This hotel is not close to Los Cristianos / Playa de Americanos and will cost €25+ to get there. We ended up spending a lot of money on taxis so I wished I checked this location first before booking. Not the hotels fault though. - The indoor spa next door is great and has a lovely pool, jacuzzi, steam room etc but charges €15 for 2 hours? This is a shame and maybe a discount should be offered for hotel guests Overall we paid a lot of money for this trip and I was probably sucked in by the hotel classing itself as 5* - it’s not 5* and I’ve got to say, we were rather disappointed with the hotel.

Dear JBlanch1992, Thank you for choosing us and for your time in sharing your experience with us. We apologize for the inconvenience that may have caused you the points exposed by you as negative, tell you that with respect to food we will review what is mentioned with the Chef, although we must also comment that the comments on food are good for our Customers, however we take good note. About the distance to Los Cristianos and Las Americas is something that is known and as with the glide path of the airport, we can do little. SPA prices and services are affordable and I can guarantee that they are suitable for Customers. We reiterate our gratitude for your comments and we would like to see you again here, it will be a pleasure to assist you. Regards.

We stayed for two weeks from the 15 th of May, bed and breakfast, we have stayed here four times before, we love the Hotel and the Staff. We also met geusts from previous years who also love the staff and Hotel. I have a bad back, no problem offered a mattress Topper, so much better. Yes the room is a bit dated but clean, We were going to eat out most nights but you couldn't fault all you can eat evening meals for €18 including wine and lager. There was a good selection, yes not as much choice as in previous years due to getting back to normal after COVID, I'm a pickie eater but always managed to find something that I liked. Breakfast was plentiful, I was not keen on chips for breakfast, but bless him Jose Vera arranged for me to have hash browns served by the lovely lady that was always smiling nothing to much trouble to her or Jose Vera. Jose the restaurant Manager so acomadating, happy to help, very knowledgeable, polite and an asset to the Hotel. The Hotel is in a lovely quiet are of Tenerife, apart from the planes which we loved flying over head. Local bus service outside the Hotel to take you to Los Christianas and Los America's, get a Bono card that makes it cheaper on the buses. The reception staff nothing to much trouble, Karen you and your staff are amazing. Entertainment was good, my hubby loved the Karioki, entertainment was varied no complaints there. I spoke to the Hotel Manager to congratulate him on his Staff, he was lovely too. To sum up perhaps not 5 stars but for service, food, cleanliness I would give it 4 Stars. We will be back next year hopefully 🤞
