We have just returned from a week at the Riu Vistamar. The hotel is stunning from the rooms with the amazing views, though i did email prior to my stay for a room on the 4th or 5th floor but got a room on the 3rd floor. any lower than this then i would be asking to be higher due to the rock surface. The restaurants were great from the buffet restaurant and the kai restaurant though the buffet restaurant did get a bit samey after a few days but there is alot of choice but i wish the meat restaurant would open a couple more nights than just one night a week. There is 3 pools maybe more seperated on 3 levels. we did enjoy the one by the emerald bar. There is a free shuttle almost every hour to Amadores beach which dosnt take long then you can get the local bus all over the island from there. The staff in this hotel are great and the entertainment team put on some great shows in the evenings.…
I wasn't originally booked for Gran Canaria however 3 weeks before I was due to fly my original holiday was cancelled so chose to go here, wow so glad I did, had a fantastic week, couldn't have dreamed of staying at a better hotel. Check in was very quick, and I was soon given my room - wow, I had 574, the views were stunning- beautiful Amadores Beach and amazing sunsets, couldn't have wished for a better view, and my room was lovely, huge ceiling fan, huge shower and kept very very very clean . Everyday I was totally spoilt for choice in the restaurant, Brilliant choice of food. All Inclusive beer is Amstel which you serve yourself- Heaven. The staff are all fantastic, I must just say though the pool bar staff were fantastic, this bar closes at 6pm, but during my stay the hotel was very busy so everyday they kept this bar open a little longer - thought that was fantastic service. The views from this hotel are just stunning, either from the restaurant of Amadores Beach, the sunsets at the sunset bar, and even the sports bar. The hotel is on a cliff and does look a long way to the beach, but once you leave the hotel security gate actually only takes about 20/25 minutes leisurely walk all downhill, I definately wouldn't walk back as its pretty steep but the hotel puts on free coaches 5 time a day each way to and from Amadores Beach - definately worth a visit, I was there everyday, so clean, loads of little bars and the sea is so turquoise, it's a dream to swim in. If you follow the path left of Amadores Beach, and follow the coast you end up at Playa des Ingles Beach, where you can get many boat trips from. The hotel provides towels for the pool/beach each day, and 2 bottles of water is left in your room everyday. There was a lot of animation at the hotel if you want to join in, zhumba, step, darts, aqua gym but being at the beach every day missed these. I had a fantastic time, Riu Vistamar is a Brilliant hotel, I loved everything, the amazing food, fantastic views and brilliant friendly staff, had such a fab time just booked again for January 22, cannot wait. Huge Thankyou to everyone who works at the hotel for a truly memorable holiday. …
Great holiday special thanks to Daniel on reception, Liria in the restaurant and Max the Riu children and adults entertainer. Hotel was spotless and food amazing. Quality of service by all in hotel excellent. Will definitely go again.
The hotel located on a cliff, so the views were jawdropping every time during our 8 days (7 nights) stay. Wherever you go you seeing the ocean and Amadores beach... the rough nature around you.... Loved the view from our room too (3rd floor). The room was perfect for us, the bed is 2*110cm double, so my 1 year old daughter my wife and myself were comfy during our stay. Room well equipped, A/C and ceiling fan too. Bathroom excellent. The food itself was always fresh and nice, huge selection during all meals. We were using the main Amadores restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner hence it has much wider selection than the Sea breeze restaurant near the pool on the 10th floor. But there the afternoon snacks were fine. Basically you can eat from 7 till late night dugint the whole day. Drinks nice, personally I don't prefer when wine comes out from a self serving machine instead of a freshly opened bottle, but this is All inclusive curse :) Elevators - hence there is no strict covid restrictions now (visited in late june 2022) were fine, 1 time during our check out around 9:30-10:00 it was super busy, so after 10 minutes waiting and 3 full elevators later I had to carry up our bags for the 8th floor to the reception which was not a nice experience with 40kg... :) But that was our problem and mistake, we should go up earlier and we'd left the luggage around 9 in the reception nobody would touch it. We watched the Abba tribute show, the young beauty who's doing the aqua fitness sang extremely well, so it was a really huge suprise for us. If you there check the theatre at nights, nice shows. But in sum: perfect hotel, for resting, eating, and just be amazed of the views of the ocean and the surrounding hills. I would defenietly come back for sure ;)…
Me my wife, and 4 young children have just returned from a 10 night stay at the vistamar. Overall we had a good time, and enjoyed ourselves. The hotel is suited to couples and families of all ages. The rooms are a good size with fridge, hair dryer, safe (free to use), and beautiful sea views over the Atlantic. The maids come round daily to clean your room, and change your sheets if required. There is free WiFi all over the hotel. The buffet style restaurant has plenty to choose from, and the food quality is good. The food consists of meats, fish, pastas, salads, pizzas etc, and there's a good choice of desserts too. We never tried the speciality restaurant, so can't comment on that. The hotel has 3 pools. On level 12 you have the kids pool, and kids club. On level 11 you have a pool suited to all ages. At this pool there is a manned bar, and a self serve beside it if you are just wanting beer or a soft drink. On level 10 you have another pool suited to all ages. On this level you have the daytime snack bar. We used the snack bar during the day rather than the main dinner hall, as its a shorter walk if you are lounging around the pools. The food is similar to the main dinner hall, just a little less to choose from. There's also a manned bar, and self serve on this level too. The animation team who work through the day also provide a lot of the night time entertainment. You also have outside acts coming in too. Overall I'd say the entertainment is good. The animation team, and all the staff at the hotel are polite and work very hard. If you have any problems they are happy to help. My only negatives on the hotel would be the amount of steps, lift journeys, or hills you have to climb in order to get anywhere. The lifts only go as far as level 10. So if you want to use the pools on level 11 and 12 you either have to walk up steps or a very steep bank on the roadside to get to the other 2 pools. If you don't have a pushchair or wheel chair, and you are pretty fit, then its not a problem. We are fit, and steps and banks aren't a problem for us, when we don't have a double pushchair, but sadly that wasn't the case. We needed the pushchair for our 2 youngest, so it was constantly a challenge getting anywhere. Especially from level 2 where our rooms were located. We did request a lower level room, so I'm not complaining about that, there just needs to be a few more lifts, that also travel right up to level 12. I'd also like to mention that it costs €80 to keep a room on. With us having 4 young kids, and flying late, we had little choice but to pay. If you don't keep a room on, and you're flying late, there is a communal shower room which got very congested. I think reception give you a number, and when its your turn they shout it out. Would i return to this hotel? Yes without the need for a pushchair. Would i return with a pushchair? Sadly no, but overall we still had a good time. …
Staff were excellent at all times very friendly and helpful, rooms were well looked after and views from room was great. Restaurants were very well maintained and service from friendly staff always first class, food was terrific
We loved our time at Rui Vistamar! We enjoyed the food, pool and relaxing experience. The views were INCREDIBLE! We loved having meals with such a beautiful view of the sea/ beach. There was a great selection of cocktails including Aperol Spritz and definitely try the honey rum if you are there! The hotel staff are kind and friendly and willing to help with anything! The entertainment was pretty good for adults, it seemed much better for kids and families but we enjoyed it for the most part. The sports bar is great on an evening and has a good atmosphere, you can play pool and table tennis. Also the themed restaurants were lovely (Canarian and grill were amazing- they do a great steak). The thai wasn’t the best with some of the sushi tasting like mash potatoe 🤣 It’s pretty loud around the pool with Abba music and lots going on such as games, bingo etc and an extensive programme so you are never bored! The beach amadores is amazing and very close by with a quick bus down or a 3 euro taxi! Random suggestions: - they have small straws for all of the drinks, seems ridiculous but try drinking a tall glass of cocktail with a tiny straw 🤣 - no drinks allowed in or near pool, they need a swim up bar 😀! - music / games in one area rather than all pools at diff times of day so if you want to be in a quiet area you can?! Overall, we loved our holiday - thank you!!…
Amazing family holiday lady at reception greeted us so kindly I think her name was Orinthia? (Short Black curly hair) we arrived after dinner so there was salad waiting for us which was disappointing to go to bed but we were tired so got on with it. All facilities were great the entertain staff were excellent the shows were great Maximilian is great with kids and should be a children's presenter, kids club staff were great my 8 year made a lot of friends and enjoyed the activities. Food was good Asian restaurant is definitely a must whilst there and the sea breeze restaurant was really good (book las soon as you can) there was a period towards the end of trip where our towels wernt changed or we had two but required three towels. Lifts were down side trying to get to breakfast can be a long wait when your in the 1st floor as breakfast is on 7th floor. Cocktails were great ,we hired a car using the telephone in reception which was straightforward had a good day out at holiday world and mall about 30mins away overall had a good holiday. We did camel rides and also visited aqualand which was a great family day out Second time at a riu this one was bigger and better looking for another resort for the next holiday.…
Stayed at this hotel for a week at the beginning of June 2022. The hotel us very clean, and the food is lovely. The views are beautiful from the hotel. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Highly recommend 😀
Great pool scene , really clean , rooms great not negative was the size of the balcony quite small , food was good, great variety only thing missing to make this hotel exceptional is a few a la carte restaurants. As we were a family you need to be up and down several times for drinks and food
