Thank you to all the staff in Rui Vista Mar for making our Christmas and New year a joyous time. Given the challenges of 2020 we decided to have a last minute get away given the tightening restrictions in the UK. We had reservations, but did our research on flight filtration systems and covid security in Gran Canaria, we made the right decision. The staff in RVM made every effort to ensure things are safe for guests. From temperature checks twice daily, hand sanitizer stations everywhere, face masks reminders about covid security. The hotel is exactly what it says on the tin, view of the ocean. We were lucky to have a lovely room with views of Playa Amadores beach, watching beautiful sunsets and views of Tenerife. Every bedroom has a view of the ocean. The jewel in the crown is the buffet restaurant the food, the sweets and the incredible views made ever night was a delight. Christmas and New Year Gala dinner was absolutely amazing we could not fault the food and service. We feel very blessed to have spent two weeks over the holidays. We wish all the staff a safe and prosperous 2021 and hope Gran Canaria opens back up safely to tourism …
We (wife & me) visited for 10 days in December. The Riu Vistamar is a fantastic hotel on top of the cliffs overlooking Amadores Beach. The views of the beach, the sunsets and Mount Teide on Tenerife are fantastic. The hotel and staff went to great measures to make sure we all felt safe and masks were worn whilst moving around the hotel - even from your sunbed to the pool bar. Additionally, our temperatures were taken upon entry to the restaurant at mealtimes. Having mentioned the restaurant, I must say that once again, all necessary measures were taken to make us feel safe but more importantly the choice and quality of the food excellent for both breakfast and evening meals. We really could not fault it. Although the hotel is on top of the cliff there is a free bus service that will take you back and fore to Amadores beach, which is lovely and if you want to go into Puerto Rico, reception will call you a taxi that will take you to Mogan Mall, the fantastic new shopping centre for less than 5 Euros. Evening entertainment was a bit disappointing but I am sure that this was probably because the hotel was not at full capacity / COVID / etc. However, we had a couple of nice evenings in the main bar enjoying the all-inclusive drinks which were served quickly by the team behind the bar. If you do go, make sure you visit the Sports Bar if only to see the fantastic sunsets. Not sure what more to say except that our room was great (478) - it was cleaned and made up everyday, the staff were all really nice and friendly and that I would certainly recommend. Thanks to everyone at the Riu Vistamar…
This was our 1st all inclusive holiday and to say we were impressed. The cleanliness was spot on, the staff were amazing and the variety of food was incredible. The hotel and staff worked extremely hard to accommodate its guests and to keep to guidelines. Gran Canaria is a beautiful place, that we will visit again. We made new friends and thats with the entertainment staff too. Our kids aged 15 & 12 had a fantastic time too, nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of room around the pool areas and dining. Be proud of yourselfs for the running of your hotel.
Well, what can I say! In times of uncertainty and unsure of what is around the corner this hotel pulled out all the stops. The food was excellent and varied (Kai Asian was great but you must boom), the cleanliness was second to none and ALL the staff were polite, professional and courteous. We upgraded to a suit for very little money but were rewarded with amazing views, bigger balcony and settee with swivel tv. There is nothing I would say was either bad, average or poor for the money, its probably the best value for money I've ever had (pour your own wines, beers and soft drinks!) I wiukd have no hesitation in going back to this hotel. Thank you to all the team from the yoga instructors to the cleaners and entertainment staff.
Just returned from a last minute holiday to the Riu vistamar having booked it due to my Jamaica holiday being cancelled I was concerned I was going to be disappointed... I was not. From the moment we arrived you were made to feel welcome and extremely safe ( covid wise) temp checks automatically as you walk into reception, hand sanitizers, masks etc so absolutely no issue the whole holiday with covid safety it’s very well managed. We were put in room 439 beautiful room, very clean, gorgeous views over the sea. My one niggle would be there’s no lights on any of the balconies and come 7pm with it being sea facing it is pitch black you can’t sit out of an evening as you can’t even see your hand infront of your face, it would be nice if this could be changed. Onto the pool area, as you might expect it’s quieter than usual however beautiful pools and we were lucky with the weather, plenty of sunbeds I’d imagine even at its busiest! Again only a small niggle but it would be nice to have some music on around the pool area esp as it was so quiet something to liven it up would be good. Didn’t have much involvement with the entertainment team or the evening entertainment so won’t comment on that. Food, what can I say, not the best and not the worst all inclusive I’ve been to, very repetitive and we found ourselves eating out a lot in the evenings, however there was always something on that you would eat, and the views from the outside restaurant over amadores beach are really something else, all in all a great place and I would definitely return…
