Stayed for a week in Sept 2019 self catering. Our room had a nice sea view and was adequate for our stay. There was a very large balcony terrace with sun all day. On site there is a Spar shop for the neccesities. As mentioned in most reviews because of its layout the lift is essential, although you can walk the steep steps from reception to the rooms, pools, and restaurant. There is only one lift which works overtime and patience is needed when using it! Cleaning staff were very pleasant but reception were not very approachable. The swimming pools are nice and if you have kids they will love it. A 10 minute walk away is the Europa centre, with bars and restaurants., although if you want to go to the beach front then a cab is a must, about 4 euros. The Shopping centre where thevmain bars , clubs and restaurants are based is 10 mins in a cab. It is a lively area open till about 4am. Overall this is a reasonable hotel but upon returning to the area would choose a hotel far nearer to the seafront further down the cliffs as it is a little isolated from the hustke and bustle.

Stay here 2nd of October this is are 3rd time here and it gets better each time we come. We went all inclusive and can’t fault the food and drink atall plenty there for kids. Cleaners come in every day apart from Sunday’s new towels and beds made and very freindly people. Entertainment is brilliant and include kids on everything they do especially Gaz who really involves the kids on everything 👍.personally I don’t think you have to leave hotel everything u need is in hotel 2 pools entertainment though out the day bingo in afternoon . We was a group of 15 and no 1 had a bad word to say about hotel can’t wait to be back in may 👍

Stayed here last week - travelled alone and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Felt very safe and hotel quiet at night. Food lovely and great choice. Very clean, comfy beds, fantastic sea views from everywhere in the hotel. Just a couple of negatives - music at poolside much too loud for me personally and the reception staff were not very friendly unlike the lovely cleaning staff. Would definitely return.

Relocated to Altamar hotel due to the Thomas Cook issue (originally to stay in Eden Hotel, which was now full) Hotel - Clean and well maintained. Reception staff are helpful and there is a lift to get to most floors, which may take a while to stop to get on, so not ideal if you're the impatient type. Great views to the clear blue Atlantic Ocean, and the balcony's have enough space to lay back and relax, and enjoy the early morning views. Rooms - May be a bit dated? Didn't really notice, but has a full-sized fridge and 'decent' showers. There was no air con, but there were ceiling fans in each room and with the window open there was enough breeze to avoid discomfort. Every room has an interior lock, including the bedrooms. The maid came every 2nd day. Facilities - The in-house Spar shop stocks most items for a £/Euro like for like cost. There is an ATM, a library (which is likely books left by guests) and ability to hire a car or book a trip from the reception area. There is a launderette on-site along with a gym located in level 3. The gym has a couple of running machines (overlooking the ocean view) along with bicycle and multi-gym with lat pulldown’s, low pulleys etc. Can’t fault the facilities. The arcades are up at reception (level 8 / ground level) which is a bit out of the way for night time entertainment (could be a good thing?) our kids never used the arcades once partly because of this. May be worthwhile to look to add a pool table or 2 on level 4 where all of the main action is. There are 2 swimming pools, each with their own infant pool. 1 lifeguard has to alternate between the 2 however, which is probably a H&S nightmare if it were the UK. Food – Surprisingly the food was actually above average for your typical all-inclusive spread. Varied choice and had themed nights, though probably the most favourable being BBQ night. They would BBQ chicken legs, pork steaks, beef, chicken kebabs, etc. No expense spared. Enough breads and salads. From 11am you could help yourself to hotdogs, chicken nuggets, chips and burgers (beef patty’s, not the cheap pork ones a lot of hotels use these days) which sometimes looked a bit undercooked. ‘Most’ of the drinks were self-service. The slushy machine was eventually by request only for whatever reason? Wines and Sangria available, along with ‘Tropical’ beer on tap. Couldn’t fault the food and drink for the cost. Entertainment – Some events during the day for the kids, but the night time entertainment wasn’t that great. It is held where you eat, which I think is good. Some of the entertainment – dancers or karaoke singers, weren’t on until 10pm which is far too late for young families. No prior kids program beforehand either, which is normally a standard prologue to evening entertainment, so it felt rather empty and dead. The good thing was that food was still available until 9:30pm, so you could grab some snacks and eat at the table while you view the entertainment (for those few nights that had it on 9pm onwards) the staff however were energetic, but feels like they are having to work within a very limited budget. Overall a decent break. There is a Europa centre about 5 minute walk away, which is a far smaller version of the main Puerto Rico Europa centre. Amadores beach is about a 20 minute walk away and worth the walk, however the hills are very steep so may have to tailor in an extra 10 minutes.
