Visited in winter over xmas times and had a superior apartment. Overall a good place to stay if you are on a tight budget and want something close to the beach. The apartments are slightly uphill so you have to walk it up and down everytime you want to go towards the beach or towards the center where the market is. I found apartment overall clean and it was tidied up regularly. It is about 5 mins walk to the beach from the apartment. We had a little toddler so it was a big pain for us here as we got the lower most apartments and we had to climb 35 steps with the buggy everytime we wanted to go out. Also 35 steps up and down with heavy luggage nearly put me out of breadth. We were not disturbed much and the view from the front of our apt was very good in evening when all the lights lit up. I kind of read reviews from other people and thought this is a nice place to stay but when I was there I realised there were lot of much better places in similar price range. It is good if you get it very cheap like 50£ per night but at over 100£ per night there are better options around. Also, i didnt find any aircon or fan in there so in summer this must be very hot.

Where to start. The beginning. We e mailed ahead advising we would arrive 9pm - 10pm and got a reply "no problem". Reception is advertised on Bookings as 8am - 11pm. Great. We arrived 21:00 hrs. reception closed. No sign of anyone. Half an hour walking round looking for a sign / phone number etc. Tried the "Apartment phone number" No answer. Eventually a security guy arrives, asked who we were and gave us the keys (in his pocket) we almost left. Next morning 08:00 a gathering of cleaners at reception all discussing their lives at a loud volume. reception is just across form our apartment. This became the norm, 8am a gaggle of cleaners chatting loudly, led by the receptionist. 9am the buzzer goes, cleaners every day, quick mop round, change the bin bag and leave. Chaos. Want a relaxing holiday forget it here before 12:00 noon. We initially took an upstairs apartment, very basic, tiny balcony, no sun until 3pm then it boils you as no shade on the balcony. Grim. So we asked to change to ground floor, as far away from reception as possible. Paid the extra €35 and moved. The apartment was the same, extremely basic, but had a small terrace and 3 sun beds. Flat screen plasma telly - YES 12" !! with no signal, 3 cups, 3 plates, 3 towels get the drift. Plaster crumbling off the walls. Tiles in kitchen area are the old original 70's painted over, now peeling off, bad repairs done on all walls Next morning same, a gaggle of cleaners in an empty room across from ours chatting loudly drinking coffee "are they following me?". Then to beat everything we came home on Friday evening to find 3 Spanish lads mid 20's next door, music playing loudly, beer bottle everywhere. I speak Spanish and asked how long they were here for, and they said 3 days - we only have 3 days left. 80% of the apartments are empty so why put these lads aside us and an older Norwegian family is inconsiderate. So we decided to leave. Best decision I've made in 20 years.

I would definitely recommend these modern, well located apartments to anyone choosing to holiday in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico was our choice for some Easter sun and although we did find the resort rather charmless (sorry!) we certainly got the sunshine we craved and were happy with our choice of accommodation. I booked 9 nights at Miami Gran through Booking.com and paid a supplement for a ground floor apartment with garden terrace. Definitely worth the extra cost as our apartment had its own small ‘private’ sunbathing terrace with sunbeds provided. Although it wasn’t strictly private, during our stay our neighbours didn’t use their terraces so we were given peace and privacy. The apartments have all necessary provisions and are cleaned frequently. They are ideally located, only one level up the hill from the beach, with the fastest access being down some steps and across a metal bridge. Between 5 and 10 minutes walk to all amenities. Only negative is that at the weekend the complex had a rather different feel. Young locals were staying in the room next door and were selfishly playing loud music plus banging around at all hours. Fortunately they only stayed one night and perhaps we were just unlucky. They were heard loudly rowing with management just before they left so clearly it wasn’t just us they upset. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend these apartments. Would I return? If I ever wished to return to Puerto Rico then Miami Gran would be my first choice.
