old but still has the vibe
if you're not from Poland you should know that the buildings here are of two categories, the old 'communist' one, made of concrete and the 'europen' new one made of better looking concrete. Now the Meduza Hotel and restaurant falls somewhere in between, this one of the first properties made after the fall of the commies with the old concrete but with the new looking... and the look i sweet. Great rooms, located next to the beach, fantastic restaurant with mixed mediterrranian and french cuisine, personel 'over the top', in the middle of the rush, great disco on the back (other side of the street) and a little far from the unelegant street of Mielno fullfilled with stalls selling unnecessary crap.

    "Old-school" nice hotel in Mielno
Perfect location almost "on the beach". You can admire sea view while having your breakfast or just a drink or coffee in the restaurant. That's one of the best hotel's features. The hotel and restaurant is kept rather in conservative style. I would name it "old-school" :) but in a good way. It is clean and comfortable. On the colder days you can sit next to the fireplace in the restaurant. There is another nice fireplace in huge lobby area where you can rest with your drink or coffee. You can use hotel facilities like table football, ping-pong table or SPA area. The SPA includes nice swimming pool, one Jacuzzi, small fitness area and dry and wet sauna. You can also use hotel's free wifi. It works. It is enough to watch YT or other live streaming media. On busy days you can have problems to get a lot on hotel's parking space. It is very limited and quite expensive (25,00 PLN a night or about 6 EUR). Parking spots around the hotel are payable and hard to find any free gap. The room I was accommodated was rather small but still quite comfortable. The bad was big and comfy too. You can use TV set and the kettle in the room. There was also small table with two chairs. Enough for 2 but definitely not enough for a family of 3. The bathroom was big so could be the washer cabine. Yes, the washer cabine could be bigger and "more modern". Mielno itself is very busy and crowded place in summer time. Offseason is much more peaceful and attractive for me. Meduza is also well known from its restaurant and food. And I have to admit that you can have tasty food and menus there.

    A beautiful but very noisy
The hotel has the best location in Mielno. It is actually overlooking the main beach. The staff are always there to help, smiling and making sure you are well looked after. HOWEVER, some of the bedrooms face an extremely noisy nightclub. The music is very loud ad the disco keeps its wide doors open till about 5 o'clock in the morning which makes the sleep totally impossible. As we checked in we tried to change the room but we could not so we ended up having a totally sleepless night which is a pity because it is a very pretty hotel. We stayed with our relatives who experienced the same inconvenience even after changing their room after their first night.

We´ve been travelling to Mielno and have stayed in the hotel Meduza nearly yearly for more than a decade. We like the proximity to the beach, the boardwalk, the pool and the suites, that are perfect for a family. When we arrived this year, however, and after we had carried all of our luggage into the lobby, we were told, that we had no reservation in their systems. Even after I showed my confirmation and the receipt for the prepayment they couldn´t find it. We could stay there for one night in two rooms (instead of our suite) and on the next day they finally found our reservation. Since there were no more rooms available they arranged a stay in hotel in the next village, 10 km further east. There, no suites was available, we even had to change rooms three times and - as a family of four - even had to stay in a 3 bed room for two nights. Apart from the small rooms and the missing pool the replacement hotel was quite nice.

I was eating in Meduza quite often in the past but never actually stayed in the hotel. This time I was seeking some peace and booked myself in for one night when visiting my family. The hotel is lovely. Very nice staff and welcoming interior. Lovely fireplace in the lounge-great to sit next to in a cold evening. And the food is amazing. Never fails. The only minus of my stay was breakfast-not a great choice and not the best presentation. But food ordered from the menu for lunch was very tasty and good value as well. I spend few hours sitting outside, wrapped up in a blanket (the restaurant keeps some tables outside even during cold months) and listening the see (restaurant is just next to the beach)... Can't wait to stay again(already booked another stay).
