This villa is everything I imagined of Tuscany and more. The villas are quaint and gorgeous, the view over the hills is expansive and beautiful. The gardens are charming. Every corner you turn, you find a lovely sight. We only booked one night, but wish we stayed longer. I will definitely return with family and friends!

Dear Ying C, you said it all ..... staying at Villa le Barone for just on night is definitely not long enough to get all the beauty and serenity in. and to discover the many things you can do from there. I am glad you liked and enjoyed what you saw and experienced .... leaving plenty more for next time. We look forward to hosting you again. Simcerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

Definitely worth coming back, a beautiful villa located in the heart of Chianti. Rooms are well kept and beautfiully decorated by Lady Maria Bianca, mostly her private collection, collected from around the world. If you have time, grab a book at the reception and read more about her and her life at Villa Le Barone. So much to explore within the property, whether sipping a glass of locally produced Chianti Classical at the patio, or grab a book to unwind at the library, a quick dip at the sizable pool with a scenic view, sunset watching, perhaps the best sunset i ever seen in Europe. We never dined there but the breakfast was good, classic Continental style. What I enjoyed the most was the serenity within the property, don’t get me wrong, the bookings seems to be full at all time but the overall atmosphere felt like being at a friend’s villa, intimate and personal.

Dear garytankf, I wish I had your capability of capturing so many concepts in such a small number of words! I believe that in your stay you got the most out of Villa le Barone and mainly the feeling of serenity which is the synthesis of the several pleasant inputs you received from watching a beautiful sunset, enjoying the decoration of the rooms, sipping a glass of Chianti classico, reading a bit from Maria Bianca's eperiences in managing her farm, .... In managing Villa le Barone , my wife and i have been trying to write a message of well being to our Guests and when one of them reads it as well as you did ... this is our reward. We look forward to hosting you again even thpugh Shangai is a bit far away. Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

I had the most wonderful time at Villa Le Barone and highly recommend it for a memorable, authentic Tuscan experience. I recommend staying on the half board basis so you can enjoy the lovely food, especially the dinner which was candlelit, atmospheric, and delicious. For dessert, I loved the ice cream! The staff and service are impeccable. Paolo at reception was helpful and charming, allowing me to borrow books before purchasing them; Julia the head waitress was the absolute best, so meticulous and gracious; Francesca was extremely helpful in ironing my clothes for dinner. Staying here, you really feel like you’re part of a family in a very special ancestral home. I had the pleasure of meeting Corso and Jaquelin and cherish my time talking with them. The trees, the umbrellas, the green leaves, the moon in the daytime, the green hills, the bees, the lovely bedding, opening the door onto the warm Tuscan morning: I am so glad I got to be ensconced in this romantic world.

Dear MichalsT6037DH, your review (thank you for writing it!) makes me think of a Chinese tale I read: a peasant is relaxing under an oak tree gazing at an old shack nearby. A tail wagging dog enters the shack and after a short time exits it with a blissful look and wagging its tail even more. After a while a menacing second dog enters the shack and then growlings, heavy barking, and bumping on the wall sounds come out of the shacks until th snarling dog comes out of the shack running and barking with its hair on end. After a while the curious peasant enters the shack to see what it was all about and discovers that the shack is full of mirrors. The happy dog was seeing happy reflected tail wagging friends while the unhappy dog was seeing a menacing horde of enemies! Please pardon the reference to dogs, but your happy, beauty seeking attitude was possibly rewardd in Villa le Barone by the beauty of the environment, the gentleness of our staff and a serene dinner lit by candles and the moon. Thank God we have very few people of the other kind! We look very much forward to hosting you again sometime soon, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We loved our stay here. Short, pretty walk to town of Panzano. The pool is super nice and the grounds are gorgeous and charming. Rooms were comfortable and stayed cool in the heat, I do wish conditioner was provided as part of amenities. Dinner at restaurant was great. Thank you :)

Dear 415brianab, I am glad you had a pleasant stay at Villa le Barone and that you managed to stay cool in spite of the somewhat hot weather during some days of your stay. I hope you took advantage of some of the hikes for which w have prpared itineraries for our Guests. They arethe best way to discover Chianti. I am sorry for the conditioner, but we support the basic rules of hotel environment sustainability and some of the rules prevent us to offer amenities plastic bottles to our Guests. We need to figure out a way to do it differently. We hope to have the chance to host you again at Villa le Barone and to make you enjoy the food we serve at our restaurant. Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

One of the most serene and beautiful places we have visited and stayed at. A real gem, rooms, staff, facilities and gardens are extraordinary. The owners were amazing in greeting their guests each morning and throughout the day. Truly a place to stay and recharge.

Dear svetlanap714, yes, serenity is an essential part of what one needs to get during a holiday .... and Villa le Barone seems able to provide this to its visitors: the Chianti landscape, the bells of the San Leolino Abbey, summer dinners on the green terrace, the view from the pool, the unobtrusive quiet service, ... are all components of a quiet sense of calm and happiness. Maybe my wife Jacqueline, our manageress Stefania, our Receptionist Sara and myself should try sometime to come to Villa le Barone as Guests in order to recover from our daily stress composed of an ice machine pooping out, a member of our team sick in bed at the last moment, a storm cutting power off, a supplier delivering late, .... but all this is well paid off whn people like you are happy and say it! We look very much forward to hosting you again sometimes soon, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

Spent 4 wonderful days in Tuscany in the apartments offered by Villa le Barone. Rustic well- kept apartments that transported us back in time and away from the hustle and bustle of the current times. Ate dinner there one night and all 9 of us enjoyed it. My daughters family ate breakfast there once and were similarly pleased.Even though we stayed in the apartments we were made to feel welcome at all the facilities and amenities offered. It did indeed feel that we were staying at a friends house. I want to specifically say thank you to the chef and kitchen staff who went above and beyond by making us some pasta when we returned from San Gimigano and found the Panzano restaurants to be closed. Conte & Contessa Aloisi Larderel are very lucky to have such loyal and helpful employees. If you are visiting Tuscany- this is the place to stay,

Yesssssss! We definitely have an excellent Guest satisfaction focused staff! This attitude probably also comes because - as owners- we consider Villa le Barone to be a family house open to friends rather than a hotel with too many rules, regulations and administration. We hope that this first taste of life at Villa le Barone will entice you to come back someday. Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

My husband and I recently stayed for 3 nights at Villa Le Barone and we found this place to be truly magical. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owners of the property and given a tour of the grounds. It was the perfect location to use as a home base for exploring Tuscany and enjoying the Chianti region. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed 2 dinners on the property as well. It was an easy 20 minute walk to the town on Panzano where there are charming stores and entoecas to enjoy as well. The highlight for us was coming back after a long hot day to the beautiful pool where we enjoyed a cocktail from the "honor bar" and listened to the birds chirping and the church bells ringing. If you are looking for an idyllic Tuscan getaway, look no further!

Dear Tourist794522, my wife and I do not spend our life at the Reception of Villa le Barone waiting for Guests to welcome, but nontheless love greeting and sharing with them what we know about Chianti and Tuscany in order to help them make the most out of their trip to our place. (but all people are not like you! ... last night , to my wife greeting a Guest, this person just grumbled back at her:"Where is the elevator?", then reserved a table for four at dinner, then did not show up .... it takes all kinds!). This is why we are very happy when we meet a Guest like you, enjoying what Villa le Barone, Chianti and Tuscany have to offer ... there is probably a lot more for you to discover around our place and we hope to hav the chanc to host you again. Many thanks for your review and all the best, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We first visited Villa le Barone six years ago, and we enjoyed it so much that when we booked a cruise leaving out of Rome this year we decided to come early and spend a few days in Tuscany. You always wonder if the luster of a great first visit will wear off and if the experience will be just as good the next time around. There was nothing to worry about! The hotel was as beautiful as we remembered it (even nicer!) and the on-site restaurant continues to delight with a tasty variety of Tuscan specialties. Some of the staff was still there and remembered us, which made the visit all the more welcoming. Villa le Barone is a special place with so much to do and see nearby. We are now looking forward to our next visit!

We were able to switch to Villa Barone after our agent mis-fired on Pensione in Panzano. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and staff @ Le Barone! The grounds are beautifully manicured, the pool was a nice reward after sightseeing and touring. Very quaint and nicely appointed. The food and beverage was excellent and reasonably priced. Bravo!

Dear CyberGordo2, it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife; I am sorry you had a bad experience with your plannd hotel , but happy we could give you a good Chianti experience at our place. Many thanks for the pastries (Ricciarelli) you and your wife brought me back from Siena ... you got it the wrong way: it's for the owner to please the Guests and not for the Guests to please the owner!!! Many many thanks. Yes, Villa le Barone is a good and serene base from which to discover many places in Tuscany and I am happy you have taken advantage of this. I hope the rest of your trip will be very plesant and we hope to see you sonn again in Panzano. Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel

We’ve just returned from our third visit to Villa Le Barone, and are already planning our next trip. In a world full of noise and bustle, Villa Le Barone is truly an oasis of calm. The staff - many of whom have worked there for years, which I always see as a good sign - are always helpful and make every effort to make one’s stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Particular highlights for me are the infinity poo and the gardens. If you are looking for rest, relaxation and a restorative get away, this should be on your list.

Dear HarriettRH, Yes, serenity is one of the features of Villa le Barone, but we can’t take the credit for it …. the hills and valleys around us, the blue skies, the bells ringing from the nearby San Leolino abbey, he design made by the rows of olive trees and vines, the chirping of different birds, the coming an going of our yellow clad maids … all this makes one’s mind wander on pleasant restful daydreams that most people appreciate. I was planning to install a discotheque in the cellar of Villa le Barone, but your review made me think twice about it and so I take it off my to do list …. :=))) As you notice I like to joke. We hope to have the pleasure to have you soon at Villa le Barone a fourth time . Sincerely, Corso Aloisi de Larderel
